Our property, Windswept Acres, has been a favorite destination for literally generations of visitors, whether staying in a room in the farmhouse, a bunk in the barn, or "glamping" in our Sugar House.
One of those decades-long regulars asked several years ago whether they could locate their RV next to the road on a knoll overlooking our upper pond, and we told them "sure". They own a building company, and were good enough to bring a crew up to prepare the site. They laid pipes to one of our spring-fed wells for water, conduit for both electricity and phone, dug a dry well for grey-water, and moved onto the site for several years.
After then they chose to move to a traditional structure further up the hill, and left behind a fully-equipped spot perfect for campers and RVs that we have offered to visiting family and guests!
Easily accessible from a dirt road, your shaded site overlooks an acre pond. You are surrounded by lawns, open fields and hills with a small barn across the road from you. The pastures support horses, cattle, sheep and chickens
in your neighborhood. The ponds are both great for fishing, and the large one for swimming and canoeing as well. There are trails through the woods and logging roads to be explored on foot or bike. A walk up to the top of the hill affords near-360-degree views.
[Note for RV/trailer users: We are at the top of a 1.7 mile hill, of which more than a mile is dirt and the last half die or so is steep. We do NOT recommend pulling anything up this hill
with front wheel drive vehicles, especially in wet conditions. If there is any question, be sure to message us for more info.]
[Note for GPS-reliers: some GPS devices try to send people up the back side of the hill, which is not an adequate road for any RV or even some cars. Your route should take you to Beacon Hill Road via VT route 110. it should NOT take you to Beacon Hill Road via Brook Road!]

Texas Hill Brook camp site
The Texas Hill Brook site is a flat, wooded campsite on Texas Hill Brook in Huntington. The campsite is roughly 10m x 30m (30' x 100'), large enough for several tents or a small camper/RV. It is accessed by a sloped 50m (about 150') gravel driveway. The narrowest part of the driveway is 2.6m (about 8.5 feet). There is a 3m x 3m (10' x 10') tent platform and a large picnic table. Firewood is provided. Near our home about 120m/400 feet away through the trees but relatively private. Within a short pedal or drive to some of the best mountain biking and hiking Vermont has to offer, 15 minutes to Richmond and Hinesburg, and just a half hour to Burlington. Electricity on site, primitive fire pit, but no other facilities, so ALL waste must be packed out. We have a bucket commode to loan if you don’t have your own.

What an amazing stay! The cabin was very spacious and cozily decorated. The kitchen was fully stocked and the beds and linens were fresh. The solar was a bonus and super easy to use. It was so peaceful being secluded. I highly recommend this for those who want to unplug and relax in the woods!

The perfect place to get away from the daily hustle. The cabin was well built and surprisingly insulated. The well-thought out design provided plenty of room. The location is far enough off the beaten path, but close enough to civilization to grab supplies if you needed to. The basic kitchen cooking utensils are provided. We will definitely be back. It was an absolutely enjoyable stay.

Fantastic location, gave us great proximity to Camels Hump. The hosts were very quick to respond, amenities were great for an easy night of camping. Service was basically nonexistent at the site, so if you need to take care of anything on the web, do it before you arrive! 100% recommend.

We loved staying at Darren's yurt. It was cozy and well-appointed. The picnic table, fire pit, fire wood, and maple syrup for sale on-site were also nice touches. Note, that the drive to the campsite from the road was quite treacherous, even with 4-wheel drive. We recommend for those with vehicles that are high off the ground. Darren was a wonderful, communicative, and helpful host!

We loved camping at dome @ the meadows! The campsite has everything you could want and need and is unbelievably peaceful. On a clear night, the sky glows with stars, and if you stay at campsite B you’ll fall asleep to the sound of running water from the stream that’s nearby. Nelson was super attentive to our needs, we had a winter freeze on the first night we stayed there, and the next morning he came to check on us and even brought us a space heater so we would sleep comfortable the second night. Can’t recommend this place enough! Will definitely become a regular camping spot for us.

We had a wonderful stay at this campsite! The place is very clean, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful — the perfect spot to relax and unwind. The host was thoughtful and provided supplies like sunscreen, bug repellent, and sanitizer, which made our stay extra convenient. The toilets and showers were spotless, and we really appreciated the attention to cleanliness throughout the site.
Another nice touch was the solar lighting — enough to guide you safely at night without disturbing the natural darkness and stargazing experience. Overall, a very well-maintained and welcoming campsite. We’d definitely stay here again!

Darren was the perfect host! Very responsive .The property is peaceful and private! I enjoyed my stay at Julia's campsite very much! The brook is so beautiful and the site is large and well cleared giving you a lovely patch of stars up above and I really appreciated the tent platform. The location is great, I loved being close to the walking trails in the Huntington town forest and there's plenty of other awesome things nearby. Check out the beaver pond up the road!
The site did not feel as private to me as most other folks have said here, so I'm the outlier but the site felt pretty visible from Julia's house and yard, and a portion of the road as well as a second house on the other side of the brook. There is a portion of the brook where you are out of view from all these places where you can bathe in privacy.
It was great for them to supply a huge jug of potable water and firewood (and kindling, and a blowtorch!!). I enjoyed hearing the barred owls at night :) Thanks Julia!

Another amazing stay for our family at Windswept! Sara and Doc have a beautiful Vermont property and are always spectacular hosts! Each year when we camp (for usually a long weekend), there is so much to enjoy that we never have to leave. We all love spending time swimming and fishing in the pond as well as hiking around the property and nearby farm areas. Our family finds this spot a wonderful place to enjoy all of it's beauty!

We loved everything about Campsite B at dome@themeadows. My family and I camped for my birthday, and we had an absolute blast! The recommended waterfall hike by Nelson is an absolute must!! We went there first thing in the am and were able to do a birthday photo shoot with the waterfall, and it was Amazing!! We loved how campsite B is so easily accessible to the river. We floated on tubes in the sun looking at the beautiful views. They also had all kinds of extras we all loved! Latterball, cornhole, disc golf, a generator(for the air mattress) wood swing, 2 picnic tables, hammock..ect. It was definitely a cozy site. There is one other site, and they are where you can see, but they were respectful and never bothered us at all. Only a porter potty, but kept very clean!! The only thing which was a little hard, was that none of us were able to get any wifi or data service, so we had no idea where anything was once we left camp. (But honestly no cell time was good) I was nervous where we've never used Hipcamp, but it felt very safe. We loved the campsite, and can't wait to go back. We made wonderful family memories for our first camping trip with the two teens!!!

The steep rolling hills of Chelsea really represent the best of Vermont. There are great walks on the barely traveled back roads, if you don't mind a workout! The swimming was wonderful, and we enjoyed the ducks, turtles and frogs. Doc and Sarah provide so many amenities for camping- electric outlet, water and hose, very nice outhouse. I loved my week at Windswept Acres.

After reaching the geodesic Dome that marks the entrance of the property we found that both campsites were well designed and layout. Our site nestled next to the White River, which invited for a small tubing adventure.
All amenities (and more) were at our disposal as advertised and all was very clean.

I loved the camp site! The stars are very voidable and got to see my first shooting star! The river access was amazing and the showers functioned every time we used it. There was a gas generator, corn ball, a football, and tubes available to go down the river. He took our trash. There is no trash drop off but there is recreational park we used the end of the trip. There isn’t any cell service so a cell booster may be required but there’s a gas station about 10 minutes away if you do need service. The owner of the land stop down on one of the days a was very accommodating and serviced the land. It is very well taken care of.
