Our Regenerative Herb Farm sits on 15-acres of rolling hills full of wildflowers and gardens. We owned an ecological landscape design/build company for 15 years so the gardens, meadows, woodlands and trails are wild with biodiversity and color. They don't have electricity or air conditioning - yup it's camping, just a wee bit more comfortable. The Texas Hill Brook site is a flat, wooded campsite on Texas Hill Brook in Huntington. The campsite is roughly 10m x 30m (30' x 100'), large enough for several tents or a small camper/RV. It is accessed by a sloped 50m (about 150') gravel driveway. The narrowest part of the driveway is 2.6m (about 8.5 feet). There is a 3m x 3m (10' x 10') tent platform and a large picnic table. Firewood is provided. Near our home about 120m/400 feet away through the trees but relatively private. Within a short pedal or drive to some of the best mountain biking and hiking Vermont has to offer, 15 minutes to Richmond and Hinesburg, and just a half hour to Burlington. Electricity on site, primitive fire pit, but no other facilities, so ALL waste must be packed out. We have a bucket commode to loan if you don’t have your own.

Our yurt has a loft where you can climb the ladder to a queen-sized bed. Or you can sleep on the full-sized futon on the main floor. We closed in half of the area under the loft for the bathroom, including a flush toilet, sink and shower. Please note there is a folding privacy screen but no door to the bathroom. The yurt has a small kitchen with a small refrigerator, toaster oven, coffeemaker, double cooktop, sink, pots, pans dishware and silverware. In colder weather the space is heated with a Rinai propane heater.

Main House Front Porch
The front porch of the main house has continued to be a wonderful gathering place with outstanding sunset views and surrounding terraced gardens with blossoms and berries that attract hummingbirds and bees. We serve meals from the adjoining big kitchen, and these can be enjoyed on the porch or taken on trays to the nearby Plum Grove, other outdoor settings. The porch is a great place to meet with others or enjoy a place to sit and read. There is also a good internet connection on the porch and a place to charge devices.
You are welcome to walk anywhere on Metta Earth land. Or you may want to walk on the surrounding dirt roads, all with very minimal cars and great mountain views or along the river. We can give further directions and information about the region when you are here.
Our stays range from basic tent sites to Yurts and Canvas Tents. We have something for everyone.
We have four yurts nestled on a knoll among maples, beeches, balsam, and other trees. They each are positioned for a sense of privacy from the others and have little paths connecting them. They all are well loved and humble, beautiful, light filled circular spaces with a round dome skylight, lattice siding, windows with screens for summer use and in winter extra insulation provided by window quilts. Each yurt has a wood stove for colder weather. The yurts are furnished simply with various configurations of single and double beds, tables, chairs, shelving, and sheepskins or other floor rugs. At night a few of the paths are lit with solar lamps, so it is wise to bring a flashlight/headlamp as well. Beeswax candles provide inside night lighting. Some of the yurts have string, solar lights around the inside of the yurt walls.
We have 5 bell tents that are lovely, roundish shaped tents with a peak. Four of them are smaller, one-person tents, and one is larger for a couple or 2 people. We provide amattress and pillow with organic bedding and a sheepskin rug, and a simple storage crate/table. It’s a good idea to bring a sleeping bag for extra warmth, especially in the potentially colder shoulder seasons in May and in September.
If you have a tent, insulated ground mat, and sleeping gear, we have many inspiring sites in the surrounding forest glades, meadows, and fields. Those who choose to camp have access to outdoor composting toilets, a hot water outside faucet for bucket bathing, and outdoor shower available in the warmer seasons. Camping requires a certain hardiness and adequate gear. Weather during the growing season (May – October) in the mountains of Vermont is unpredictable. Temperatures range from freezing temperatures at night in the spring and fall to gloriously warm days and even hot days.

Bike trails/x country ski trails are connected right to our homestead. Continue on the trail and access some of the best mountain biking trails and snow biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking.
Sugarbush Resort is a 10 minute drive and is one of the best ski mountains in the area!
If you are looking for gym and shower facilities, you can stop into the Sugarbush Resort, just a short driving distance, for a day pass fee.

Camping is provided by and in support of the Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center, a 501 3C non-profit company. Located in the heart of the Green Mountain National Forest, the Outdoor Center provides access to the Blueberry Hill network of trails, the Vermont Long Trail, The Catamount Trail, and the Moosalamoo National Forest Trails.

While there is an internet connection near the buildings, it may not be available at your site. Cell service is limited at best. You can drive your car right up to your site. Sites are a good distance apart. Site 1 and the Bed in the Shed are the most private. Site two is quite open and supports trailers.
For your campfire, you can forage for wood or request "bundles" (about a dozen hunks of wood) by the morning of your arrival, and we'll have it delivered to your site. Please note, wood from outside Vermont is not permitted.
Step outside your tent and you'll find a wealth of hiking, biking, and running trails. As stewards of these trails, your camping fees help support the efforts of this non-profit comany. Nearby, you can enjoy swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. Trail maps are provided upon arrival, and you can also view them online on our webpage at Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center.
The Outdoor Center offers snacks and cold drinks for purchase, including our inn-made chocolate chip cookies, chips, and cold drinks. Also available on site, at the Inn across the road on mornings we are serving, may be a full breakfast, pastries, packed lunch, and coffee. Our Regenerative Herb Farm sits on 15-acres of rolling hills full of wildflowers and gardens. We owned an ecological landscape design/build company for 15 years so the gardens, meadows, woodlands and trails are wild with biodiversity and color. The farm is a certified Bee Friendly Farm through the Pollinator Partnership. We give guided tours weekly upon request and discuss the ecological restoration efforts that are underway as well as our 'Seed to Soap' project that is Farm Craft VT. Our Farm Store is open daily from 8-8 and is self-serve.
All sites have fire-pits (don't forget to order a firewood bundle), room for a group of 4-6, and views of starry skies. Please Note - none of the campsites are accessible by car. They don't have electricity or air conditioning - yup it's camping, just a wee bit more comfortable. For the complete Farm Craft VT experience, book a guided-farm tour on our website where you can smell the herbs, taste the honey from our hives, learn about how essential oils are distilled, how seed oils are pressed and handcrafted soap is made on site.

The Texas Hill Brook site is a flat, wooded campsite on Texas Hill Brook in Huntington. The campsite is roughly 10m x 30m (30' x 100'), large enough for several tents or a small camper/RV. It is accessed by a sloped 50m (about 150') gravel driveway. The narrowest part of the driveway is 2.6m (about 8.5 feet). There is a 3m x 3m (10' x 10') tent platform and a large picnic table. Firewood is provided. Near our home about 120m/400 feet away through the trees but relatively private. Within a short pedal or drive to some of the best mountain biking and hiking Vermont has to offer, 15 minutes to Richmond and Hinesburg, and just a half hour to Burlington. Main House Front Porch
The front porch of the main house has continued to be a wonderful gathering place with outstanding sunset views and surrounding terraced gardens with blossoms and berries that attract hummingbirds and bees. We serve meals from the adjoining big kitchen, and these can be enjoyed on the porch or taken on trays to the nearby Plum Grove, other outdoor settings. The porch is a great place to meet with others or enjoy a place to sit and read. There is also a good internet connection on the porch and a place to charge devices.
You are welcome to walk anywhere on Metta Earth land. Or you may want to walk on the surrounding dirt roads, all with very minimal cars and great mountain views or along the river. We can give further directions and information about the region when you are here.
Our stays range from basic tent sites to Yurts and Canvas Tents. We have something for everyone.
We have four yurts nestled on a knoll among maples, beeches, balsam, and other trees. They each are positioned for a sense of privacy from the others and have little paths connecting them. They all are well loved and humble, beautiful, light filled circular spaces with a round dome skylight, lattice siding, windows with screens for summer use and in winter extra insulation provided by window quilts. Each yurt has a wood stove for colder weather. The yurts are furnished simply with various configurations of single and double beds, tables, chairs, shelving, and sheepskins or other floor rugs. At night a few of the paths are lit with solar lamps, so it is wise to bring a flashlight/headlamp as well. Beeswax candles provide inside night lighting. Some of the yurts have string, solar lights around the inside of the yurt walls.
We have 5 bell tents that are lovely, roundish shaped tents with a peak. Four of them are smaller, one-person tents, and one is larger for a couple or 2 people. We provide amattress and pillow with organic bedding and a sheepskin rug, and a simple storage crate/table. It’s a good idea to bring a sleeping bag for extra warmth, especially in the potentially colder shoulder seasons in May and in September.
If you have a tent, insulated ground mat, and sleeping gear, we have many inspiring sites in the surrounding forest glades, meadows, and fields. Those who choose to camp have access to outdoor composting toilets, a hot water outside faucet for bucket bathing, and outdoor shower available in the warmer seasons. Camping requires a certain hardiness and adequate gear. Weather during the growing season (May – October) in the mountains of Vermont is unpredictable. Temperatures range from freezing temperatures at night in the spring and fall to gloriously warm days and even hot days.

While there is an internet connection near the buildings, it may not be available at your site. Cell service is limited at best. You can drive your car right up to your site. Sites are a good distance apart. Site 1 and the Bed in the Shed are the most private. Site two is quite open and supports trailers.
For your campfire, you can forage for wood or request "bundles" (about a dozen hunks of wood) by the morning of your arrival, and we'll have it delivered to your site. Please note, wood from outside Vermont is not permitted.
Step outside your tent and you'll find a wealth of hiking, biking, and running trails. As stewards of these trails, your camping fees help support the efforts of this non-profit comany. Nearby, you can enjoy swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. Trail maps are provided upon arrival, and you can also view them online on our webpage at Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center.
The Outdoor Center offers snacks and cold drinks for purchase, including our inn-made chocolate chip cookies, chips, and cold drinks. Also available on site, at the Inn across the road on mornings we are serving, may be a full breakfast, pastries, packed lunch, and coffee. Ranger Eric’s place was great! He, himself was super responsive when we had questions ahead of our stay and during our stay. The place was exactly as we expected and we had a very enjoyable stay! We will definitely be back next year! Thank you Eric!

The property here was amazing to be at. I was part of a 4.person group bikepacking through Vermont and came across this as an option for reprieve during a to be rainy night. The main lodge was very homey, communal, and clean. A huge kitchen and plenty of seating/hang out area for folks to catch up and chat. Honestly we would have loved to stay longer and get to know even more about the place as it seemed to have some good history and current operations to it.

Loved the RV setup, it was way cozier than what I expected from an RV right in the middle of woods. Having horses and dogs around just made our stay even more enjoyable. The owners were very sweet and were always available for us. Would def visit again!!

Weekend Trip to HOWL Women & Gender Justice Retreat
HOWL is a lovely place to stay! The hosts were welcoming and warm, opened their home as if I was an old friend and made sure that I felt comfy and ready to enjoy the beautiful surrounds. I'd recommend staying there - either camping or in the farmhouse - anytime your path takes you to the Upper Valley in Vermont!

Weekend Trip to The Hollow at Dynamite Falls
Absolutely beautiful raw nature! The steep walk up is well worth it! Tent is spacious and comfortable. Take the trip to the hollow, not an easy hike but the reward is amazing! The zip line was so much fun, we now need one at home lol. We even enjoyed the occasional sound of the trains going by below. Can't wait to return in the spring!!

Weekend Trip to Broadfork Farmstead
I really enjoyed staying on the bus—it was such a unique experience! I was grateful it was available for a last-minute booking that same night.
Carol’s communication and responsiveness were excellent, making check-in smooth even with my late-night arrival.
The bus itself was cozy and charming, set right on the farm with a clean outhouse just steps away, equipped with a motion light for nighttime use. Inside, the space was thoughtfully arranged with a small table, chairs, two sofa beds, and foldable mattresses. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and each window had blinds to block out light.
It was a cold night, but I came prepared with sleeping bags, extra blankets, and heating pads. Carol also offers a space heater as an add-on, which I’d recommend during cooler seasons!
A pleasant surprise was the power bar which was so useful for charging my devices and the bus also had reliable Wi-Fi!
I only stayed one night but wish I’d had more time to explore the farm, there were adorable animals on my way out! I also wish I’d tried the breakfast add-ons as they looked delicious.
Overall, it was a memorable stay that I’d definitely recommend. I got to tell all my friends that I slept on a bus and had a great story to tell!

2 nights at Broadfork Farmstead
I had a wonderful two night stay on The Bus. My friend joined me the first night, but had to get back to work, so my second night was solo. We both found the accommodation funky and comfortable. As a farm girl, myself, I always love to be around piglets, chickens, dogs, cows… Carol was a very warm, gracious hostess, eager to share her insights on local attractions. Her breakfasts and cheese plate displayed impressive attention to detail, using superb local ingredients and so artfully arranged, include cloth napkins tucked into baskets. I hope I am able to return next year, and have already recommended her place and the area to friends looking for a satisfying roaming destination.

The short bus was super cozy and we were warm with just sheets and a couple blankets we brought, no heater, on a night it probably got down into the low 40’s. The farm animals were a delight and we got to meet the piglets with Carol. Also love the running water/sink right outside the bus. Great spot!

Weekend Trip to BlueberryHill Field Camp
My husband and I LOVED our two-night stay in the bed-in-the-shed this past weekend. We've been up to Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center to do some gravel riding before and knew what to expect as far as amenities go. We were super pleased to have such a lovely, quiet and peaceful place to rest our heads. Shari was kind in her welcome and super communicative before and throughout our stay. We'll be making this a regular camping spot when we're in Vermont for sure!

Wonderful spot. We stayed here on our fall trip to dog mountain with our senior dog and light hiking in fall foliage. The bed was comfortable and the lodge area was nice to make coffee, hot teas, and take a warm shower. The hosts were lovely and communicative. They even had the sweetest horses living there. Gorgeous comfortable glamping spot. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit.
