Since that time, a good portion of the apple trees has succumbed to disease and crowding by native and invasive species, though many continue to thrive and produce fruit—supporting a healthy and diverse wildlife population. There are several other farm stands in the area offering locally produced vegetables, meat, eggs, maple products, and ice cream, as well as general stores and a hardware store within 20 minutes. It gets a little tricky if you are pulling a trailer. A small one is OK but a large one - not so much....... The rd goes 1/2 mile to the rear of the land. Moose, deer and other critters visit too. We live 1/2 mile away from where you enter the woodlot. Our house is on Brownington Pond (200+ acres) & campers can use this site for swimming, boating & fishing. The campsite is roughly 10m x 30m (30' x 100'), large enough for several tents or a small camper/RV. It is accessed by a sloped 50m (about 150') gravel driveway. The narrowest part of the driveway is 2.6m (about 8.5 feet). There is a 3m x 3m (10' x 10') tent platform and a large picnic table. Firewood is provided. Near our home about 120m/400 feet away through the trees but relatively private. Within a short pedal or drive to some of the best mountain biking and hiking Vermont has to offer, 15 minutes to Richmond and Hinesburg, and just a half hour to Burlington. We loved staying at Kathleen’s place! The cabin is very private, feels completely safe, and the view is fantastic. Everything was very clean and nicely organized, and the minute you arrive you have everything you need. Even though the weather was cold, we stayed cozy and warm thanks to the wood stove, which was surprisingly efficient. The property here was amazing to be at. I was part of a 4.person group bikepacking through Vermont and came across this as an option for reprieve during a to be rainy night. The main lodge was very homey, communal, and clean. A huge kitchen and plenty of seating/hang out area for folks to catch up and chat. Honestly we would have loved to stay longer and get to know even more about the place as it seemed to have some good history and current operations to it.

Weekend Trip to Harold's View Farm

We loved our stay in the Cabin at Louella’s place. It was peaceful, had a lovely view of the mountains, and everything we needed for a rustic weekend stay. The bed was comfortable with plenty of warm blankets available. We brought sleeping bags and a small propane heater that kept us warm enough. We hope to visit again in the future and would recommend the cabin to anyone looking for a cozy stay.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful lake view cabin! The photos online truly don't do it justice—the place is even more stunning in person. The cabin was incredibly cozy, relaxing, and peaceful, with all the amenities you could ask for. The mornings were especially great, waking up to the beautiful lake views. We spent two nights here and every moment was perfect. The host was so friendly and welcoming, making our experience even better. As the first guests, we felt honored to be part of this gem's story. Weekend Trip to Vermont Rustic Retreat

Staying at Kathleen’s cabin was exactly the place we needed to unwind and enjoy Vermont at its fullest. The cabin has the most amazing view on the valley. It’s really well equipped and has everything you need. Kathleen was super communicative and even helped us find the cabin in the dark (we missed the sign). We stayed there with our dachshund who loved running around and feeling free outside of the city!

Weekend Trip to Camping Cabins

This stay is definitely bare bones, but perfect for experienced campers and outdoor lovers who bring their own stuff. Beautiful location, quiet space, their animals are awesome and the stargazing is impeccable. The she shed is just that, an enclosure to rest your head. The temps dropped to the 30’s in early October so I wore all my heavy layers, 4 blankets and a heat pad. It was still cold. I had my own lighting and power packs. It’s a must. But, I’m so glad I chose it. Their goats and chickens brought me so much joy, a fellow camper made me feel safe enough to stay there as a solo female, I spent the night under the stars petting animals, watched a movie and slept well. When I left, the owner messaged me if I’d left a bag and I had. I met the owners when I picked it up and bought a homemade breakfast sandwich. Great space, best for those who prepare for outdoor life. I recommend it highly for those who prepare for the option they chose.

Weekend Trip to BlueberryHill Field Camp

My husband and I LOVED our two-night stay in the bed-in-the-shed this past weekend. We've been up to Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center to do some gravel riding before and knew what to expect as far as amenities go. We were super pleased to have such a lovely, quiet and peaceful place to rest our heads. Shari was kind in her welcome and super communicative before and throughout our stay. We'll be making this a regular camping spot when we're in Vermont for sure!

Weekend Trip to Vermont Rustic Retreat

We enjoyed our northern VT glamping experience in this cozy rustic cabin. I took advantage of the appliances and made coffee each morning and kept some local cabot cheese and salami in the fridge for snacking between adventures. The dogs loved the porch and grounds. We did have an animal having itself a time one night under the cabin which woke me up (just in case you have a noise sensitive pup) but the second night it was quiet! We enjoyed a local hike and hill farmstead brewery during our stay. Close to local ponds for paddling too if that’s your preference. I didn’t have great service (verizon) and had to go to town for some parts of the day to respond to messages/plan next travels (downloading maps etc) so be mindful of that if you’re staying here! Overall, it was a very cozy experience and I’d definitely recommend it.

Everyone in the house was very friendly and made us feel welcome. There are also lots of great viewpoints and campsites for things like watching the sunset or having a campfire under the stars.
