My land is easily accessible by main road, has ample parking, and yet cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, wildlife, fireflies and peepers are just outside the door. In the summer season, several organic farmstands and local picturesque swimming holes range between 5-15 minutes away. Autumn's glorious show is on display everywhere you look. Winter offers easy access to groomed VAST trails in the field behind the house and studio. Hopkins Center, AVA Gallery, the Lebanon Opera House, Northern Stage, and a wide array of restaurants are within 20 minutes. The Lyme bridge is now open, so there are more restaurants, trails, activities and the Dartmouth Skiway! Despite the proximity to town and even to my home, the simple studio space is serene in its sumac baby forest. The space is one of a kind, with a giant salvaged chapel window, cathedral ceilings, a candelabra, a clawfoot tub, a quirky outhouse, on-demand hot water, electricity and wifi. The site lists that it sleeps 4? But three is more realistic, and I cannot seem to change it. The cabin sits on 10 acres of land was once owned by the infamous Rockefeller and is in the heart of the Vermont Green Mountains. Plymouth is the home of many historic sites, mind blowing views of the mountains, and close a proximity to some of the best resources Vermont has to offer (The Appalachian Trail, Vermont Artisan Cheese, Long Trail Brewery Company, numerous Maple Syrup shops, etc...). Plymouth is also is the birthplace of Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of The United States. The home he was born in, lived in, and inaugurated in are less than a mile away and are all still standing, now are used as museums to represent his history and the impact he has had on the town of Plymouth. The property also has memorable views of Mt. Killington that is just miles away where you can see the beautiful foliage during the fall months and see the ski slopes during the winter months. I wanted a cabin in the woods forever and my boys built me this awesome cabin! Drive down spring, summer and fall, walk or snowshoe in winter, about 300 yards. Beautiful, DRY {No running water}, no electricity cabin. Called "Unplugged" for several reasons: No electricity, No internet and most phones don't work! Bring books! 16 x 20 with a loft with stairs. Queen bed in loft and daybed downstairs. Has an outhouse. Stocked with basics for cooking on flat grill and new 2 burner camp stove. Cabin is well insulated, uses a Big Buddy heater for heat in winter .Bring water in gallon size, refill at house.The rain barrel is only for water for fire pit! Not drinkable!! You fill the black bucket and put it near fire pit while having a camp fire. New solar lights installed, really brightens up cabin! Bring sleeping bags or use linen in bag.

We loved every minute of our trip to Forest Echo. Excellent hiking nearby, kayaking/canoeing in Tiny Pond, maple creamees (we only live 3 hours away, how did we not know about these!) cozy indoor and outdoor fires, quiet and peaceful sleeping in very comfortable beds. Off the grid with the comfort of a fridge/stove/bathroom. We feel so lucky to have experienced this place. Lovely, friendly hosts Scott and Rose. A perfect way to escape from the noise (internal/external) of the world!

Cute little property! A nice place if you want to be close to hiking areas or just lay low for a bit. Keep in mind there’s no cellphone service and the property is right off a main road (not near a home so you have the place to yourself, but the road was loud). The cabin had a wonderful wood stove, sink, mini fridge, electric stovetop and tons of thoughtful equipment. Though our trip was short we hope to come back to the area again one day.

Forest Echo was beautiful, Ripley Hill Cabin was well stocked with anything you could need. All the trails were well maintained, and the bodies of water were all breathtaking. Perfect for a getaway with all sorts of activities to do. We will be returning.

Weekend Trip to Green Mountain Getaway

Wow! Johns land is absolutely stunning. We spent the weekend in this lovely cabin overlooking the Vermont mountain slopes. The cabin is rustic but super functional. There are basic cooking supplies, gas burners and plenty of kitchenwear. The cabin is fitted with huge windows, one next to the double bottom bunkbed where we slept, looking right out in to the lush forrest surrounding the cabin. Summer had started but the nights were still chilly so we were lucky to be able to use the old stove -- which was not just warm but cosy! We spent most of the time at the cabin, waking to the morninglight, sunbathing in the grassfield and experiencing a the stunning sun setting behind the slopes. The place is absolute privacy and if you have all the food and drinks you need with you, there is no reason to leave. Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to escape for a few days. There is a pond to swim in behind Johns house, but we did not try it. Anyways thank you to John!

Weekend Trip to Green Mountain Trails

This place exceeded all my expectations and was an absolutely stunning experience. If you're considering it--DO IT. The hike up was on the "Green Trail" and was fairly well marked. There are several adjacent trials to explore and more adventurous paths to the hut if the 1.3 mile green trail isn't enough. The hut was well-stocked with many extras. But with the views, you won't spend much time inside.

More amenities and supplies than expected. The cabin was well stocked with lots of potable water, dishes, firewood, etc. Which was helpful because it was unseasonably cold and rainy and we needed to light the wood stove to warm up! A nice view, and a nice cabin to unwind and unplug.

Loved my stay in the Magick Cabin! Of all of my stays at Sacred Nectar, what struck me the most about this spot is the thought and detail put into it. Even though the weather ended up being quite rainy, there was no better place to experience it. You can see and hear the rain pattering the roof from the loft bed.

Stayed 1 night, and thats all I needed to determine how much of a secret gem this site is. Such a unique find, Matt does a Wonderfull job keeping the place stocked with required supplies and utensils but the charm comes from previous visitors who have all added their own leftover elements to explore. I won't ruin the mystery, I will also add that this is a hike in excursion so you really get the isolated in the woods feeling. , I backpacked in about a mi, and enjoyed navigating through the trail system in place, pay attention to the signage. If you stay I recommend looking at some maps ahead of time and identify your orientation when you arrive at the parking lot. Caught a clear sky that day and the sunset over the hills was chefs kiss to end the day.

Weekend Trip to Vermont Rustic Retreat

The view is AMAZING. We stayed 2 nights with our golden retriever while attending a local event. Kathleen was an awesome host and very helpful. The cabin is cozy and comfortable. We really enjoyed playing the board games in the cabin while warming up by the wood stove at night.

This was my third time visiting and it's always a peaceful experience. I love how light the cabin is on the inside. The woodstove makes it fun and was easily able to keep the inside warm but it probably only got down to freezing outside.

3 nights at Green Mountain Getaway

We had a great stay at this cabin and would absolutely come back. One of the things I appreciated most is how private it is—unlike many other rentals, there are no additional sites on the property, so the cabin and the surrounding space are entirely yours. The cabin itself is exactly as described, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up. What truly stood out to me, though, was how welcome we felt. As an immigrant, I’m very intentional about choosing places where my family—and really anyone from a minority background—can feel safe and respected. This was definitely one of those places. The owners are genuinely kind, good people, and it shows in the way they host. A lovely bonus: they make their own maple syrup, which you can purchase during your stay. And the views are beautiful—you can see the mountains right from the cabin, which made mornings and evenings especially memorable. Overall, a peaceful, welcoming place that I’d highly recommend.
