Cedar point, part of the larger Witherbee-Sherman Mining Company, operated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries smelting iron ore to be shipped throughout the world via the Lake Champlain Canal and Hudson River, and is credited with providing iron to some of America's leading projects at the time. Some remains of the sites industrious past can be observed throughout the property.

Our property, Windswept Acres, has been a favorite destination for literally generations of visitors, whether staying in a room in the farmhouse, a bunk in the barn, or "glamping" in our Sugar House.
One of those decades-long regulars asked several years ago whether they could locate their RV next to the road on a knoll overlooking our upper pond, and we told them "sure". They own a building company, and were good enough to bring a crew up to prepare the site. They laid pipes to one of our spring-fed wells for water, conduit for both electricity and phone, dug a dry well for grey-water, and moved onto the site for several years.
After then they chose to move to a traditional structure further up the hill, and left behind a fully-equipped spot perfect for campers and RVs that we have offered to visiting family and guests!
Easily accessible from a dirt road, your shaded site overlooks an acre pond. You are surrounded by lawns, open fields and hills with a small barn across the road from you. The pastures support horses, cattle, sheep and chickens
in your neighborhood. The ponds are both great for fishing, and the large one for swimming and canoeing as well. There are trails through the woods and logging roads to be explored on foot or bike. A walk up to the top of the hill affords near-360-degree views.
[Note for RV/trailer users: We are at the top of a 1.7 mile hill, of which more than a mile is dirt and the last half die or so is steep. We do NOT recommend pulling anything up this hill
with front wheel drive vehicles, especially in wet conditions. If there is any question, be sure to message us for more info.]
[Note for GPS-reliers: some GPS devices try to send people up the back side of the hill, which is not an adequate road for any RV or even some cars. Your route should take you to Beacon Hill Road via VT route 110. it should NOT take you to Beacon Hill Road via Brook Road!]

The village of Chelsea hosts a weekly summer farmers market May-September on Fridays from 3-6pm (mid-May through September). In downtown Chelsea there is gas station (110 Quickstop), two town commons, a small library, and a general store (Will's Store), and a farm stand (Chicken Wiggle Farm).
Within 20-45 minutes of our farm you can reach the larger towns of Montpelier (state capital), South Royalton, Randolph, Woodstock, White River Junction, and the Upper Valley Region (Dartmouth College), all of which offer a wide variety of attractions and services. Upon your arrival, you will be given a welcome packet with more detailed information about our area, and we'll be happy to provide you with any other tips you're looking for.

The Texas Hill Brook site is a flat, wooded campsite on Texas Hill Brook in Huntington. The campsite is roughly 10m x 30m (30' x 100'), large enough for several tents or a small camper/RV. It is accessed by a sloped 50m (about 150') gravel driveway. The narrowest part of the driveway is 2.6m (about 8.5 feet). There is a 3m x 3m (10' x 10') tent platform and a large picnic table. Firewood is provided. Near our home about 120m/400 feet away through the trees but relatively private. Within a short pedal or drive to some of the best mountain biking and hiking Vermont has to offer, 15 minutes to Richmond and Hinesburg, and just a half hour to Burlington. Our property, Windswept Acres, has been a favorite destination for literally generations of visitors, whether staying in a room in the farmhouse, a bunk in the barn, or "glamping" in our Sugar House.
One of those decades-long regulars asked several years ago whether they could locate their RV next to the road on a knoll overlooking our upper pond, and we told them "sure". They own a building company, and were good enough to bring a crew up to prepare the site. They laid pipes to one of our spring-fed wells for water, conduit for both electricity and phone, dug a dry well for grey-water, and moved onto the site for several years.
After then they chose to move to a traditional structure further up the hill, and left behind a fully-equipped spot perfect for campers and RVs that we have offered to visiting family and guests!
Easily accessible from a dirt road, your shaded site overlooks an acre pond. You are surrounded by lawns, open fields and hills with a small barn across the road from you. The pastures support horses, cattle, sheep and chickens
in your neighborhood. The ponds are both great for fishing, and the large one for swimming and canoeing as well. There are trails through the woods and logging roads to be explored on foot or bike. A walk up to the top of the hill affords near-360-degree views.
[Note for RV/trailer users: We are at the top of a 1.7 mile hill, of which more than a mile is dirt and the last half die or so is steep. We do NOT recommend pulling anything up this hill
with front wheel drive vehicles, especially in wet conditions. If there is any question, be sure to message us for more info.]

Within 20-45 minutes of our farm you can reach the larger towns of Montpelier (state capital), South Royalton, Randolph, Woodstock, White River Junction, and the Upper Valley Region (Dartmouth College), all of which offer a wide variety of attractions and services. The Texas Hill Brook site is a flat, wooded campsite on Texas Hill Brook in Huntington. The campsite is roughly 10m x 30m (30' x 100'), large enough for several tents or a small camper/RV. It is accessed by a sloped 50m (about 150') gravel driveway. The narrowest part of the driveway is 2.6m (about 8.5 feet). There is a 3m x 3m (10' x 10') tent platform and a large picnic table. Firewood is provided. Near our home about 120m/400 feet away through the trees but relatively private. Within a short pedal or drive to some of the best mountain biking and hiking Vermont has to offer, 15 minutes to Richmond and Hinesburg, and just a half hour to Burlington. Jon was most accommodating and a wealth of local information. He loaned us an electric heater for our camper so we didn't have to use the noisy one installed. The driveway was a bit daunting for backing up but we did it without too much effort. There's a great hike with waterfalls on the property and a cute cafe close by with good food and live music. The bathrooms were the cleanest and nicest I have seen camping! We will definitely return!

Beautiful campsites on a hill overlooking the valley. Each site had a covered picnic table, tent platforms, electricity, and a sink. Bathhouse with hot water was a real treat. Hosts were communicative and helpful. Highly recommend.

Beautiful location, accommodating and welcoming hosts. Very nice clean bathrooms, showers, and laundry! Best I've ever seen at a camp ground. Sites are pretty private with their own sink and tent. It is in the middle of nowhere but pretty easy to find off the main road. Dog friendly. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect location if you plan on visiting surrounding cities, like Stowe. Camp site was well taken care of. The owner is extremely knowledgeable about the area and gave several recommendations for activities and dining ahead of the visit for planning. All around really nice dude! Multiple showers/flushable toilets available. Dog friendly. Many guests but was very quiet, which was great. Bathroom could be a bit cleaner/welcoming...but it is camping and I'm always grateful just to have access to utilities. Over all, nice stay.

Jon and Ann were fantastic hosts! Such lovely people and such a great camp spot. There are great trails right on the property that wind through some beautiful woods, as well as longer trails around the quaint and peaceful neighborhood. Jon and Ann shared great recommendations for nearby activities and made us feel at home.

I can’t say enough good things about our experience from beginning to end. Carol is a kind, friendly, and helpful host, and communication was always very clear. The breakfast basket was wonderful, the facilities were excellent, and we had a wonderful night in our teardrop! We’d absolutely stay here again.
