We are pet friendly and have one well behaved dogs name spike and diamond. Also we rv size will be 25 ft long .. 30 ft. Long is going to button out on the cattle guard. We don't have hookup.

Indian Canyon Ranch is a rugged, isolated, off grid property which focuses on enjoying the outdoor beauty of our little corner of the spectacular American South West. Please be advised, that during heavy rain four-wheel drive may be necessary but in all cases low clearance vehicles are not ideal on the last section of road but if you arrive before dark and go slow any vehicle can make it. If you arrive after dark the last bit of road looks more challenging than it actually is due to shadows on the surface caused by the head lights. Units are not heated. Please plan to show up before dark for the best experience and ease of finding the location. Indian Canyon Ranch is proud to be an independent, off grid property with limited solar power and water available. There are no RV hook ups available but there is limited solar power in the rental units and in the communal area but not in the primitive campsites. Campsites are primitive camping only. Showers in the main communal area are solar powered and only hot with the sun and for an hour or so after sunset Joe purchased this property in 2008. At that time, it was 8 acres, and it is now at 20 acres continuous property. The ranch is situated 2 miles off the highway down a bumpy dirt road on the edge of the national forest, this gives you a feeling of being in the wilderness. The south and east sides are boarded by canyons and ruins. All other private properties in the area are 10 acres or more so are well spread out and sparsely populated. All the structures on site were brought here piece by piece and were salvaged from construction projects in Yosemite and Grand Canyon national parks. Water is manually hauled in and the power in the kitchen area is solar generated so please be conscious of water and power use.

There’s a pretty solid chance that you’ve heard about Moab, one of Utah’s most happening recreation spots. This gorgeous place gets packed, so do your homework beforehand so you know where to go! The Moab Field Office, administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), takes up 1.8 million acres of gorgeous canyon-riddled lands. Spend your days hunting for natural arches and bridges, exploring mesas, and contemplating how the heck rocks can look so crazy. BLM lands are also fantastic base camps for forays into nearby Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. There are 26 campgrounds, and you can usually find something even on the busiest of weekends (but, if you can swing it, it’s always best to arrive early). River recreation on the Colorado and Green Rivers is another major draw. However you spend your time in Moab, you’ll fall in love with the impressive red rock formations, the deep canyons, and surprising amount of plant life.

So many things to see! Goosenecks State Park, Natural Bridges, Moki Dugway, Cedar Mesa! Camp on this private estate that was founded in the 1890's by gold and oil prospectors and where John Wayne later crossed the river in several western movies! The night skies are unbeatable as is the quiet solitude that is sadly disappearing in other areas. Mexican Hat Rock and this portion of the San Juan River are accessible only through this estate that is open for your enjoyment, however, if you wish to camp we now ask for a small fee so we can keep it clean, maintain roads and continue our conservation efforts so all can enjoy it forever! Portable toilets are required!!! And please pick up after yourself, dogs and horses. Pack it in, pack it out. Respect your fellow campers and stay on obvious trails and roads, do know that part of this property is marked as 'No Trespassing', please respect signage. Dirt Road Conditions – The road is maintained by San Juan County Road Department. During the summer months the road is easy to travel. Winter Guests, December through February AWD or 4WD is required because of snow. November and March weather varies so always check in about road conditions. We do recommend having a good spare tire in your vehicle and if you plan on touring the canyon and high ground clearance is strongly recommended. Weather – Blanding Utah mirrors our weather and temperatures better than Monticello Utah. Monticello is a lot higher in elevation than the ranch and usually 10-15 degrees cooler than the ranch. The sheep camp is peaceful and a truly special camping experience with basic necessities provided. The sheep camp is small, but cozy. The outer dimensions are 12 foot long by 6-1/2 feet wide giving you 78sq. ft. of living space inside. Because of this, the bed is shorter than normal. Bed dimensions are 58" wide by 72" long. The sheep camp does not have power, but we do provide propane and solar lanterns for lighting. The sheep camp does have a separate private bathroom with a hot shower, toilet, and sink. We provide towels. Potable drinking water is available at the sheep camp in the bathroom and at an outdoor faucet. The sheep camp has a propane grill for cooking. We provide propane and basic food prep and cooking supplies. The primary heat source is a wood burning stove, we provide free firewood to heat the sheep camp. We also provide small propane heaters for your convenience. The coffee maker is a stove top percolator that can be used on the grill, and we provide coffee and sugar. We also provide a French press. The sheep camp does not have laundry facilities. Summer Guests - The sheep camp does not have air conditioning, but we have fresh canyon air and nice cross breezes. Specifically, July and August guests, we are in the desert, and it can get quite warm. If you like it hot, then we have the place for you. Outdoor Fire Pit - Please bring your own firewood to use the fire pit. We have firewood bundles available for purchase at the Montezuma Market for your convenience. Check-in is 4:00p.m. and check-out is 11:00a.m. We ask you to be prompt when checking out. We have a short window to prep for the next guests before their check-in time. Smoking is not allowed inside of the sheep camp. If you choose to smoke outside, please pick up after yourself and be conscious of fire danger and keep the yard and outdoor areas clean and litter free. We do not allow pets. Most local stores, including the grocery store are closed on Sunday. Convenience stores and the Family Dollar are open on Sunday. At the sheep camp we have a guest manual with detailed instructions on how to work everything. Also, there is a self-guided tour of Montezuma Canyon to enjoy. For local shopping and restaurant info check out my guidebook on Airbnb. Montezuma Market – Located at the ranch, we have fresh organic produce, eggs, preserves, pickles, and juice for sale. The Grapevine Cave & Lounge is a manmade cave and is shared with 2 other property rentals at Montezuma Canyon Ranch & Vineyards. It is a great place to watch movies, hang out and play games. We do not have wine available yet. We are steadily working towards that goal. Check us out on our website and social media. There are dogs on the ranch, and you may meet them during your stay. The dogs are friendly and not aggressive. They will most likely bark if they see you because they don’t recognize you, but if you kindly greet them, they will be glad to come and say hello. Vinny is an Australian Cattle dog and likes to bark because he has a lot to say, Willy is a Chocolate Labrador and wants to walk between your legs to make sure you notice him. My three dogs, Mabel, Quigley and Ziggy come to work with me every day at the ranch. They will most likely run past on a mission to hunt squirrels and lizards.

Winter Guests, December through February AWD or 4WD is required because of snow. November and March weather varies so always check in about road conditions. We do recommend having a good spare tire in your vehicle and if you plan on touring the canyon and high ground clearance is strongly recommended. Weather – Blanding Utah mirrors our weather and temperatures better than Monticello Utah. Monticello is a lot higher in elevation than the ranch and usually 10-15 degrees cooler than the ranch. The sheep camp is peaceful and a truly special camping experience with basic necessities provided. The sheep camp is small, but cozy. The outer dimensions are 12 foot long by 6-1/2 feet wide giving you 78sq. ft. of living space inside. Because of this, the bed is shorter than normal. Bed dimensions are 58" wide by 72" long. The sheep camp does not have power, but we do provide propane and solar lanterns for lighting. The sheep camp does have a separate private bathroom with a hot shower, toilet, and sink. We provide towels. Potable drinking water is available at the sheep camp in the bathroom and at an outdoor faucet. The sheep camp has a propane grill for cooking. We provide propane and basic food prep and cooking supplies. The primary heat source is a wood burning stove, we provide free firewood to heat the sheep camp. We also provide small propane heaters for your convenience. The coffee maker is a stove top percolator that can be used on the grill, and we provide coffee and sugar. We also provide a French press. The sheep camp does not have laundry facilities. Summer Guests - The sheep camp does not have air conditioning, but we have fresh canyon air and nice cross breezes. Specifically, July and August guests, we are in the desert, and it can get quite warm. If you like it hot, then we have the place for you. Outdoor Fire Pit - Please bring your own firewood to use the fire pit. We have firewood bundles available for purchase at the Montezuma Market for your convenience. Check-in is 4:00p.m. and check-out is 11:00a.m. We ask you to be prompt when checking out. We have a short window to prep for the next guests before their check-in time. Smoking is not allowed inside of the sheep camp. If you choose to smoke outside, please pick up after yourself and be conscious of fire danger and keep the yard and outdoor areas clean and litter free. We do not allow pets. Most local stores, including the grocery store are closed on Sunday. Convenience stores and the Family Dollar are open on Sunday. At the sheep camp we have a guest manual with detailed instructions on how to work everything. Also, there is a self-guided tour of Montezuma Canyon to enjoy. For local shopping and restaurant info check out my guidebook on Airbnb. Montezuma Market – Located at the ranch, we have fresh organic produce, eggs, preserves, pickles, and juice for sale. We also support local artisans and crafty friends by selling their wares. We accept Cash, Checks, Credit and Debit. The Grapevine Cave & Lounge is a manmade cave and is shared with 2 other property rentals at Montezuma Canyon Ranch & Vineyards. It is a great place to watch movies, hang out and play games. We do not have wine available yet. We are steadily working towards that goal. Check us out on our website and social media. There are dogs on the ranch, and you may meet them during your stay. The dogs are friendly and not aggressive. They will most likely bark if they see you because they don’t recognize you, but if you kindly greet them, they will be glad to come and say hello. Vinny is an Australian Cattle dog and likes to bark because he has a lot to say, Willy is a Chocolate Labrador and wants to walk between your legs to make sure you notice him. My three dogs, Mabel, Quigley and Ziggy come to work with me every day at the ranch. They will most likely run past on a mission to hunt squirrels and lizards.

Our setting is cooler and greener than much of the surrounding area. If you still haven’t “gotten over the color green” (there’s a book by that title!), this is the place for you. Or, even if you do thrill in a red rock setting, a little green will refresh you in the evening and morning. A small stream nearby, with a four-foot waterfall, graces our camp with the sound of running water. Cottonwoods and historic fruit trees shade parts of each site, while dragonflies and birds often dart about among the rabbitbrush and sagebrush. Each site can accommodate one vehicle, van, small RV, or truck-bed camper up to 18 feet in length. Just north of Cortez, we are ideally located in the heart of the northern Four Corners region—only 15 minutes to Mesa Verde National Park, 20 minutes to Canyons of the Ancients, 10 minutes to Phil’s World, and 30 minutes to the mountains for hiking, biking, or fishing. Cortez markets and restaurants are just 10 minutes away. Durango is an hour away, Telluride is 1½ hours, and Moab is 2 hours. We are naturalists, so if you have questions about birds, dragonflies, butterflies, or fireflies (yes, fireflies!), such as the best places to see them besides your campsite, just ask us! We also worked in the field of archaeology and can help you choose sites to visit—like Mesa Verde National Park or Canyons of the Ancients. We encourage you to connect with the natural world as well as the ancient cultures of this region. Four Corners' Dragonfly Camp exists on the ancestral lands of the Puebloan and Ute peoples. This is a dry site—please bring your own water and toilet. Showers are available at the Cortez Recreation Center, just 10 minutes away. It doesn’t take long after pulling off onto the road that leads to Kelly Place to notice that you are now on sacred grounds. We only spent 2 nights there, but that was enough to get the understanding that this was a place of uniquenesses that held a certain amount of powers. I’m yet uncertain how long it might take to come to grips with it what’s held there, but I’m very grateful for the time allotted and will soon return for a deeper connection. Great campsite with beautiful views! I stayed in mid November and had the whole place to myself. Site 4 was great. Site 5 would’ve also been a good choice. I passed by some of the other Hipcamps in the area and thought the sites at Arrowhead weren’t as on top of each other as the other ones. The outhouse was simple but very clean and was all you need. I would definitely stay here again!

I love this campsite! This is my second time here! I will be coming back again! Brian is awesome is very hospitable! His has firewood for sell. You’re 2 minutes from the entrance to the park. The campsite is always clean. Clean out house and showers. I will be back for sure. If you’re looking for tent camping this is the spot! Highly recommend and great veiws! There are neighbor dogs that are too cute! You can bring your dog too! I saw the northern lights my last night there!

We have never glamped before staying at Glamping Canyonlands. What a great find through hipcamp! Close but not in the crowds to explore The Needles District. Erik and Keshie’s thoughtful touches and witty humor made the stay fantastic! They really have thought about all the small details needed for a great stay. The ability to cook over fire or use the community kitchen (thankful for the french press), the showers/toilets, hammocks with shaded picnic tables. The kitties and chickens were fun to see and was great reading about their story on how they built Glamping Canyonlands. Stargazing at night and quiet mornings. We can’t wait to come back and bring friends!

The Arrowhead Campground is a short drive from the main highway. The best views of the Monuments, we even got to see the moon rise above them. Each site has a freestanding pergola (w/ one wall for wind control), a picnic table, and a firepit. There are two off the grid outhouses. Bring your own drinking and grey water. There is no running water available. Note: We stayed on site #7 were the owner's dog had visited us once in evening by the campfire and once in morning while we enjoyed a cup of coffee. He is a sweetheart who respects your space, but enjoys your company. He enjoys a little toss and catch with rocks or sticks. Don't worry he'll find the perfect rock or stick to toss. Thank you, Jeremy and family for sharing this special place with all us happy campers.

He is friendly and helpful (and if you would like a private tour of the backcountry of Monument Valley where only the Diné can go, he can definitely get you an A+ tour!). Nice camp with enough space. Very good spot close to the Valley (walking distance). Friendly hosts. Three nice dogs are guarding the camp. Unforgetable dark sky with a wonderful milky way and an amazing view especially during sunset. Not easy to find (no sign next to the main road).
