Weekend Trip to The Golden Dome At Golden Pine

This was our first time using HipCamp, and what an incredible experience! Zvi and Thunder (the resident longhorn on site) were extremely responsive hosts and made sure we had everything that we needed for the duration of our stay. The geodesic dome was beautifully decorated with a sophisticated touch, impeccably clean, and incredibly comfortable. The location was private and peaceful—a perfect getaway from the city. We loved how secluded it felt despite being a short 20 minute drive from Bastrop. One of our favorite parts was waking up to a beautiful sunrise, with the option to open the curtains and let the morning light pour in. At night, the views of the sky were absolutely stunning—perfect for stargazing and soaking in the beauty of the quiet countryside. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to unwind and recharge.

Camping at Geronimo's land reminded me of camping as a Boy Scout in my early teens. It was awesome to share the nostalgia with my daughter as we roasted marshmallows over the campfire. We were able to enjoy all that the place had to offer, like the rope swing into the frigid Colorado river, fishing poles available at the riverside, the strategically placed hammock providing a peaceful, relaxing view of the water and even the little old play park. Our stay was uninterrupted, except for the welcomed firewood delivery on the first night. This facilitated the great Daddy-Daughter Camping tradition we have come to enjoy annually. PS. This is not glamping, this place is for REAL CAMPERS (you know yourselves).

6 of us camped out right by the river. The host crew was extremely accommodating making sure we had enough wood, and offering us the fish they caught! It felt secluded and like our own little slice of paradise. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can!!

Weekend Trip to Outdoorsy Hill Country

My family and I LOVED staying here with our pups! It was the perfect way to get some non-campers into relaxing in the outdoors! The beds were comfortable, the interiors were simple but absolutely stunning, and our surroundings were so peaceful. I found myself wanting to wake up before sunrise every day :) My dogs have been all over the country with me, but this is definitely one of my favorite stays with them. Getting an additional golf cart was also a very convenient addition to easily get around property! ALSO It turns out Outdoorsy has two more locations in Colorado and outside of Yosemite--so I may look into trips there as well!

Great place to camp with kids (ages 4-7) (playground & animal adventure). The owners are beyond kind and thoughtful. For tent goers don’t forget your potties bc there are none available. Also, not clear on where to put your tent, but nonetheless it was great. We will be back.

Oh my gosh, I’m coming back for sure. This place was amazing and Leslie was so helpful in helping us with a forgotten charger. This is a beautiful spot and it would be great for multiple families renting the whole place out. Everything was wonderful and we will definitely be back.

1 night at Cedar Break at Howard Ranch

Twisted x brewing is literally right next door; it was great to hop over there for a few beers then walk 20 yards back to our RV spot. We didn't really explore the ranch much (it was right before Christmas) but the grounds and RV spots were nice!

We were close to the river for fishing. The campsite was clean and quiet, the host were friendly and brought you firewood the first evening there and also checked on everyone each day. Our 3 little dogs loved the area and we went for long walks during the day.

Swim, kayak, or canoe...but there’s no better way to beat the legendary Texas heat than by grabbing an inner tube and enjoying a calm, steady float along a river known for an abundance of fossils and its wildlife. Bring your own tubes, kayaks and canoes, we are currently replenishing our inventory. Or perhaps you prefer to fish the shady tree-lined banks. Either way, you'll see a variety of birds while you relax on or beside the cool waters of the Colorado River. We're kid and dog friendly (leashes mandatory) and we love musicians. Bring an instrument and join us for an impromptu jam session in our special events room or around the campfire. Cook dinner on our BBQ pit. Firewood is available onsite A few rules... 1. Check in is before sunset. We ask that all Hipcampers wait at gate for staff to guide you to your location for safety reasons. Contact us if you arrive ahead of schedule. 2. No wondering by the upper level cabins (these are private property). Showers are behind these cabins. Please respect staff spaces. 3.
