Nice secluded place in the hills. However, keep in mind that there are two tents close to each other on one side and then another couple tents close to each other farther away. Great when you have a group using those tents together. Otherwise you’ll be pretty close to your neighbors. Keep that in mind. I like that there is a well-kept RV that was a communal space. Nice little amenities with places to sit and chill and have some food outside, games, etc. Grill in place was a nice feature. Unfortunately the propane buddy heater was out in our tent, but to be fair, we also did not ask for any additional propane :). Too bad for the burn ban. Would have been perfect for a nice fire in the cold night. The place was super nice and chill and places to explore. I like the nice little touch of adding the additional info on the property to explore and find out more about the area and critters in the area. Great touch! Had a great time. Thank you!

Marlena’s airstream is a great stay if you’re looking to disconnect and be off the grid. The property is beautiful, clean and comfy. She’s also very responsive, just in case you have questions.

We enjoyed our stay. Gabriela and her husband are wonderful responsive hosts who met us with smiles and literature about the area. The River Walk bike/hike trail is very close to the campground. We rode for 15 miles and had a wonderful time. We will definitely come back.

The property is nicely gated and very quiet. We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. We tent camped right infront of the tubing exit under trees. We easily could load our paddles boards in the river which was great for our dogs as well. You could pick any spot you’d like to camp along the river which was nice. I’d highly recommend!

We had an absolutely wonderful time! We just came with our pups for one night for my sister’s birthday. We spent most of the night just laying on a blanket staring at the stars. The beds were comfy and the communal RV had everything we needed! One night was not enough. We live close and will be back for sure!

the view 1 direction was beautiful, wildflowers, prickly pear, cedars and the like , but you have to camp right next to 2 campers that are rented out. It was too close for my comfort, even though there was a very nice young man living in one, and he left so there was privacy but the ambience wasn’t as nice as it could have been. The other challenge was the outlet was for a 50 amp plug only, I needed a regular plug. he did later direct us to an electric pole that he said he thought had a regular plug at it, but it was too far from the camper pad for our cord.

Nice private space and convenient location. For many, the Espada Mission and the South end of the River Walk with e bike rental is literally within walking distance of Gabriella's land. The campground is cozy with just 5 spots. And there are nice touches: Each campsite has its own name, there are multiple bird feeders and picnic tables, and there is a nice landscaped area behind the campsites framed with rocks. We stayed in mid-Match and there were lots of songbirds to wake up to. Gabriela and Clemente are wonderful, warm, informative and attentive hosts. The campground is literally in their backyard and they come out daily to ensure everything is working out for everyone and that all questions are answered. This was a wonderful place to stay during our visit to San Antonio. Recommend!!

Gabriela’s yard was in a great location for biking and visiting the missions. Although we did not meet Gabriela, her husband Clemente met us, gave us a key for the gate, and provided information and a map of the area. It was a very pleasurable stay and quiet at night.

We loved ringing in the new year at Marlena’s space. Every single detail was accounted for, from the hammocks to the fire circle to the cozy outdoor kitchen, right down to the complimentary eggs from their chickens.
We brought our 7 year olds along, who rated their experience a 10/10. Our pups would have rated it the same!
We cannot wait to plan our return.

Weekend Trip to Hill Country Nature Retreat
Wonderful place. Lots of little touches that make it comfortable. It was rainy: two giant umbrellas. We tracked some dirt in: little brooms to clean up. We wanted some hot tea to warm up: a collection of every HEB flavor. The bed was super comfortable and we stayed cozy at 44F using the gas heater and leaving the windows open.
Oh and the showers were hot.
100% great spot.
