This privately owned 8,000 sq. ft. beachfront lot is located on a barrier island in Sargent, TX. It offers a neighborhood setting with a secluded, unobstructed view of the Gulf. The property features an approximately 30' x 30' gravel pad and a long driveway.
While the property is beachfront, direct access to the dune area and beach may not always be available due to tides, rainfall, storms, or beach erosion. Public beach access is located about 1/4 mile down the road.
Please note this is a subdivision, and there is a neighboring home on the right side of the property.
This site is intended for RVs and wheeled campers only. It is best suited for small to midsize RVs. Ground tents are not permitted due to local wildlife, although elevated vehicle-mounted tents are welcome.
The property is still being developed. We currently provide electricity (110V, 30-amp, and 50-amp service) and water, but there is NO sewer or septic system. Guests must bring their own toilet facilities and remove all waste upon departure. Public restrooms and trash disposal are available approximately 1.5 miles away.
A picnic table, clothesline, and shade canopy are typically provided, but availability may vary due to storms and high winds.
If you enjoy quiet surroundings, open space, and uncrowded beaches, Sargent is the perfect getaway.

The property is fully fenced. The entrance gate is 16' wide. The yard is all St. Augustine grass. Very clean and maintained. Pets are welcome.
This property is tailored for RVs, 5th Wheels, Travel Trailers, and Motorhomes that have black and grey tanks and can hold their waste water (shower, toilet, and washing) for dumping into the on-site water treatment unit. You must have your own shower, sinks, and toilet on your rig with holding tanks for black and grey water and the ability to dump into the dump location on the property. The property is not designed for tent campers.
The electrical and sewage hookups are on the left side of the property. Motorhomes (Class A, Pushers, and Class C RVs can pull directly into the space with hookups in the usual location. 5th wheels, travel trailers, and campers that are pulled by a vehicle will need to back into the space as there is no room in the front of the property to drive in, unhook your vehicle, and drive the vehicle off the slab. When you back in, the hookups will be on the the opposite side of your connections. Depending upon your travel trailer and where you place your travel trailer on the slab, you may need electrical or sewage extensions to reach the connections.
The vast majority of the renters who use the property used a 5th wheel, travel trailer or camper that is pulled by a vehicle.
The pictures of the property show a line of granite blocks between the property and the beach. The granite forms a seawall (called the revetment wall) that was installed by the Corp of Engineers and prevents beach erosion. Depending on the tides, sometimes the Gulf waters hit the wall and there is very little beach area in front of the property. Sometimes, there is a large beach area. If the water is against the seawall and you’re looking for beach area, there are several beach entrances along Canal Drive within driving and walking distance.

A beautiful spot for fishing and beach going. We loved being so close that we could cross the street and be on the beach. We didn’t have to haul a ton of stuff. My husband had his dual sport motorcycle and had a blast riding the beach road. Our boys had a wonderful time cast netting off the dock and the sunrises and sunsets were stunning. When people said the mosquitos were bad at night they weren’t joking around! Those suckers must have been around since the dinosaurs, so be sure to bring that bug spray! Overall it was a great spot with all the hook ups! Couldn’t have had a better time, THANKS No Moss for a great summer vacay

The property was awesome. Enough space to angle our 21' RV so that we had a view of the ocean from all three rear windows.... The million dollar view for twenty dollars.... 😉👌. Mosquitos were not as bad as we were warned about... the wind helped a lot with that. We realized when we got there how nice it was that we decided to stay a 2nd night. I nice little gem on the coast, like finding a a cool seashell on the beach.

This RV site with full hookups was perfect and as described! The concrete slab was perfectly level. It has an electrical hookup, water, and a dump station. Plenty of room for setting up a hangout spot with a table and chairs - everything is kept very clean. Bring a canopy or ask him if he has a shade for the installed poles. Neighbors, if you see any, are extremely quiet. The fence was such an added bonus since we brought our dog, who loves to lie outside. Note: The sun, coastal wind, and TX-sized mosquitoes are no joke during that season, so bring protection! If you need a quiet place to set up with a view of the gulf, THIS is the property for you!

We had a great time camping at No Moss Island staying at No Moss 3. The site itself was peaceful, relaxing, and exactly what we were looking for for a getaway. The area was clean and the overall experience was enjoyable.
A couple things future campers should definitely know:
Bring plenty of mosquito spray — the mosquitoes can get pretty intense, especially in the evenings. Bug spray is absolutely a must if you want to stay comfortable outside.
Also, the dog at Site 1 barked quite a bit throughout our stay, so just be aware if you’re looking for complete quiet.
Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and would still recommend it to anyone wanting a fun camping trip by the water!

everyone in my group loved the location and the proximity to the water! they arent kidding when they say youre across the street from the beach. not super secluded during the day since theres other people on the beach or walking by a lot and theres only a chain type fence but we were the only campers and had the whole property to ourselves which was very nice:) our host was very quick to respond to all of our questions and super friendly and helpful in doing so. my brother said its his favorite spot we been to so far! beautiful place to spend a night or two

We enjoyed our stay at the OceanFront RV Pad. Our host Lisa was friendly, very knowledgeable of the area, and a cool host.
The concrete pad site is very level and accessible from the front road that separates the campsite from the Gulf of America. Our 30 amp connection was stable, we didn't avail ourselves of the septic connection, and Lisa advised us to use the water for showering only which we did.
The location is remote, so please arrive prepared with what you need to support yourselves during your stay. The nearest "town" of Sargent doesn't offer much in the way of shopping or dining, but we knew that going in and packed accordingly.
For us, it was perfect as we simply wanted a nice quiet place to enjoy the peace, tranquility and sounds of the ocean, and the OceanFront RV Pad delivered that in abundance.
If we find ourselves in that neck of woods again, we'd absolutely book a stay here again, and recommend that you do the same!

Great location for a peaceful stay away from the hustle and bustle of popular beach locations. This is one of those stays that feels like it wasn’t long enough no matter how long you get it for.

Where to go
Matagorda Bay
Fifty-eight miles of beaches stretch along the Matagorda peninsula, and campers can enjoy primitive camping along much of the seashore. Around 22 miles are accessible by vehicle, but you’ll need a boat to explore further afield. Fishing, kayaking, and surfing are the main activities along the beaches and tidal marshes, while bird-watchers will want to add the Mad Island Marsh Preserve and Matagorda Bay Nature Park to their itinerary.
Galveston Bay
East of Matagorda, coastal wetlands stretch along the coast to Galveston Bay. Nature walks and bird-watching opportunities abound in the San Bernard and Brazoria National Wildlife Refuges, while primitive camping is possible within the Justin Hurst Wildlife Management Area. Campers will find numerous options along Galveston Island, but for the best views, park your RV or pitch a tent by the beachside in the Galveston Island State Park.
South Houston
Urban campers have options around Houston, and camping to the south and West of the city is the best way to avoid the crowds. Riverside campgrounds dot the banks of the Brazos River, where you can camp on a working cattle ranch or choose from RV sites, group camps, and cabins in Stephen F. Austin State Park. There’s also RV camping with electric hookups as well as primitive camping in Brazos Bend State Park.
When to go
When the summer heat kicks in, the Gulf Coast is the best place to cool off from the Texan sun. Summers stretch from May through September, and this is peak season, so reserve campgrounds well in advance. The Gulf waters are often warm enough for swimming and water sports in spring and fall, while winter temperatures are still mild enough for camping along the coast. Birding opportunities are best during the spring and fall migrations.
Know before you go
- You’ll need your own transportation to get to and around Matagorda—better yet, bring your boat. A 4x4 is recommended for beach driving, and a 15mph speed limit is in place along Matagorda beach.
- There are shops in town where you can pick up groceries, camping supplies, and fishing bait and tackle. Bring everything you need with you if camping along the beach.
- Tent and RV camping is permitted on the beaches in Matagorda. An annual beach vehicle permit is required for driving on Matagorda Beach, but there are no additional camping fees.
