Kaz always had a DREAM to help kids with Life Skills & Mentor in God’s Principles because she had Christian Mentors growing up! They were always there for her through her life and kept her focused down the right path and stayed out of trouble and learned a tremendous amount from them! Bill her husband supports her and they raised 7 children together and have 10 grandkids. Kaz father was Asperger's Autistic and from 5 years old started showing Kaz hands on learning skills that are still instilled in her today! She found this to be a Valuable Lesson from her Dad. These methods and skills through the years working with her own children and other children through the years with different organizations confirm to be very beneficial and encouraging for the children growing up. Bill and Kaz have shared equally through all they’re projects during they’re 40 years of marriage. They’re Jack Of All Trades, Artists, Shown in Art Shows, Remodeled Homes, Churches, Work on the Ranch Together, and Etc. They are able to teach others how to do things that can benefit kids till they graduate and have a better understanding of what they want to do in their lives as an adult and PLUS have the mentoring to guide them through life.
The Ranch has its main Mission to work with youth but is open to Renting the Ranch House that Sleeps 1 to 20 guests, and RV/5th Wheeled Campers Camp Sites and Tent Camping for them to Enjoy the Marvels that God has Created and Lot's to Experience, Explore, and Observe!

Pedernales Falls State Park is only 35 miles away.
Swimming at holes, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, and birding are a few of the quintessential outdoor Texan activities visitors enjoy most at Pedernales State Park, located near the area of Texas Hill Country where former President Lyndon B. Johnson grew up. Next to the famed Pedernales River, the park is an hour west of Austin, an hour east of Fredericksburg, and about 20 minutes from downtown Johnson City. Wineries and distilleries are a short drive away in nearby Dripping Springs and Stonewall.

The queen mattress is this loft is squeezed a bit, so it’s best for 1 adult, although 2 can share as long as you’re prepared for it to be a little tight.)

A note about AC:
We have installed very powerful window style AC units. In general, the AC unit can cool 15 degrees off of the outside temp. If the outdoor temp reaches 100 during the peak of the day, it might be 85 in your tent. At night a d in the morning, when the outside air temp cools to the low 70s, your tent can be very cool.
What’s the difference between our 4 tents?
At Talula Mesa we offer 4 glamping tents, each 100 to 300 ft apart for privacy, all with great views of the hill country. Three tents are large (Grand), and one is small (Mini). The 3 Grand tents are nearly identical, with slightly varying decor. The main difference is in the tents’ locations on our property and corresponding view.
- The Grand Aztec: Provides the most open view of the lake and hill country. Located central on the property near the main fire pit and common areas.
- The Grand Arrow: Also has a lake view, but with more trees, less open than the Grand Aztec. Located closer to the entrance of our property, farther from the common areas. Adirondack chairs and a hammock area is just out back (lakeside).
- The Grand Tesoro: Private hill country view across the properties ravine. Located closest to the bathhouse, very central on our property. Also near the common areas. A private chiminea fire area under a grove of trees is nearby.
The price for Grand tents is based on double or triple occupancy. A fourth guest is welcome for an additional fee ($50/nt), which you’ll see at booking.
The Mini Aztec: Located between the Grand Aztec and Grand Arrow tents, with a private view of the lake and hills, and a private chiminea area. For younger children (age 8+) who want to sleep in the mini tent, we recommend the Grand Arrow for the parents because the mini is within view of the Grand Arrow porch.
The Grand Tents have a maximum occupancy of 3 guests. We may allow for a fourth guest upon request for an additional fee ($50/nt).
Guest access
You'll have access to the entire 15 acres, including some walking/hiking trails. You cannot enter other guests' tents (without invitation, of course).

People who live here, don't usually leave or move because they love it so much. It's a niche neighborhood full of friendly folks. This area also welcomes golf carts or ATV's to get around. This RV space is outside of city limits and we don't have city regulations which makes for a very relaxing environment. The RV space is big enough to park up a 30-50 feet camper comfortably.
Must be a long term tenant (6+months) to enjoy lake access. The peaceful neighborhood and lake fun make this space a one of a kind.

Kaz always had a DREAM to help kids with Life Skills & Mentor in God’s Principles because she had Christian Mentors growing up! They were always there for her through her life and kept her focused down the right path and stayed out of trouble and learned a tremendous amount from them! Bill her husband supports her and they raised 7 children together and have 10 grandkids. Kaz father was Asperger's Autistic and from 5 years old started showing Kaz hands on learning skills that are still instilled in her today! She found this to be a Valuable Lesson from her Dad. These methods and skills through the years working with her own children and other children through the years with different organizations confirm to be very beneficial and encouraging for the children growing up. Bill and Kaz have shared equally through all they’re projects during they’re 40 years of marriage. They’re Jack Of All Trades, Artists, Shown in Art Shows, Remodeled Homes, Churches, Work on the Ranch Together, and Etc. We have installed very powerful window style AC units. In general, the AC unit can cool 15 degrees off of the outside temp. If the outdoor temp reaches 100 during the peak of the day, it might be 85 in your tent. At night a d in the morning, when the outside air temp cools to the low 70s, your tent can be very cool.
What’s the difference between our 4 tents?
At Talula Mesa we offer 4 glamping tents, each 100 to 300 ft apart for privacy, all with great views of the hill country. Three tents are large (Grand), and one is small (Mini). The 3 Grand tents are nearly identical, with slightly varying decor. The main difference is in the tents’ locations on our property and corresponding view.
- The Grand Aztec: Provides the most open view of the lake and hill country. Located central on the property near the main fire pit and common areas.
- The Grand Arrow: Also has a lake view, but with more trees, less open than the Grand Aztec. Located closer to the entrance of our property, farther from the common areas. Adirondack chairs and a hammock area is just out back (lakeside).
- The Grand Tesoro: Private hill country view across the properties ravine. Located closest to the bathhouse, very central on our property. Also near the common areas. A private chiminea fire area under a grove of trees is nearby.
The price for Grand tents is based on double or triple occupancy. A fourth guest is welcome for an additional fee ($50/nt), which you’ll see at booking.
The Mini Aztec: Located between the Grand Aztec and Grand Arrow tents, with a private view of the lake and hills, and a private chiminea area. For younger children (age 8+) who want to sleep in the mini tent, we recommend the Grand Arrow for the parents because the mini is within view of the Grand Arrow porch.
The Grand Tents have a maximum occupancy of 3 guests. We may allow for a fourth guest upon request for an additional fee ($50/nt).

This neighborhood is very peaceful but also just 10 mins from the local HEB grocery store, Starbucks, fast food, local cafe's and amenities. 30 minutes drive from Austin Texas and the downtown day/night life. People who live here, don't usually leave or move because they love it so much. It's a niche neighborhood full of friendly folks. This area also welcomes golf carts or ATV's to get around. This RV space is outside of city limits and we don't have city regulations which makes for a very relaxing environment. The RV space is big enough to park up a 30-50 feet camper comfortably.
Must be a long term tenant (6+months) to enjoy lake access. The peaceful neighborhood and lake fun make this space a one of a kind.
The home on the property is completely secluded and fenced off (photos don't reflect new fencing installed).

Bill and Kaz were super amazing hosts. So nice and I was able to talk with them for quite some time about their future plans for the property. They are incredibly welcoming to all campers but especially the overland community, sharing the philosophy of leaving thing’s better than you found it. Protecting nature so that it can be enjoyed for years and years. The campsites are nestled in the trees but provide some stunning views of the hills and the sunset. So quiet and peaceful. My campsite was equipped with a table, chairs, a fire ring and plenty of wood. One of my new favorite camping destinations. I highly recommend this spot. Give it a try, You won’t be sorry.

Nice spot at a private ranch, campsites are away from the road. Very peaceful. So the info may not be updated, it’s posted that sites only have water and power and need to dump by
Ranch septic tank. Well all rv sites have sewer connections.
Also the lake is dry no water,

Talula Mesa was charming and a beautiful place to escape and enjoy nature. Our beautiful a-frame cabin was well appointed with amenities described but the pictures cannot do just to the detail of the space and the sun rise and sun set views. We are considering it for a friends weekend to be able to relax, cook together and enjoy peace in the hill country.

Great property, located between Dripping Springs and Austin just off highway 290. A nice way to get an "out-in-the-country" camping experience while still being close to town. There is some road noise in the distance, but not enough to be a problem.
There are two big longhorns and a donkey wandering around that are super friendly to people (just don't let your pets go say hi to them). There is also an 18 hole frisbee golf course running through the property that was a lot of fun to play.
The campsites themselves were nice and flat, with a picnic table and firepit. I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of insects, but I think that probably had more to do with the time of year we came (early November).
The hosts were responsive to communication and there were no hassles or complications with using the property. Just book it online, watch the nice youtube video they have about getting around the property, and message the hosts if you have any questions!

My buddy and I very much enjoyed staying at this campground. Us city folk did have to get help to move the longhorn and donkey away from the gate so we could get in initially, but Jana responded right away and her husband helped us out immediately. The animals kept us company over night, but they were friendly and cute. The composting toilet had everything you could need, and the ranch land was gorgeous. Overall, a great stay and would recommend this campground.

What a wonderful property! We stayed in the Blue Loft Eco-cabin and loved it! Travis was super helpful with the instructions, accommodations and activities at Living Waters and nearby. Very friendly guests in neighboring lodges and peaceful river atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!

This was such a great stop along our camping trip! The site was big enough for a group, although we only had two people. Plenty of space, a nice picnic table, firepit, etc. Easy to follow instructions to get to the site, with plenty of activities to do around the area. Our host Jana was responsive and communicative with good information. We would highly recommend and we will be back for another stay! Also a plus, they are pet friendly.

Stayed here 2x and love it! Nice and private, spacious plot of land, close by Inks Lake State Park and the lake. Site includes fire pit, chairs, firewood, grill, picnic table, and porta potty.
Gunter is a great host. Both times, he checked in on me when I arrived and in the evening. Making sure everything is going ok and what not. Gunter's property includes a small open air kitchenette along with 2 kayaks and a stand up paddleboard, all of which were offered to me to use.
Great place to stay in you want a more private campsite in the area than other options!
