1 night at Sound Ground (fka Reverse Pioneers)

Lovely stay at the yurt, we were lucky enough to get to watch an epic Texas lightning show from the comfort of the deck. Directions were clear and easy to find even in the dark. Bring lots of firewood (no collecting on site) and some instruments and enjoy the Hill Country ambience.

I had a fantastic experience at this camping spot, thanks to Laura’s exceptional hospitality. She was incredibly helpful, guiding me to the site with ease and personally showing me the available spot, which was nestled in a serene, picturesque setting. The peaceful water and tranquil atmosphere were absolutely outstanding, perfect for unwinding. The shower and bathroom facilities were super clean, adding to the comfort. I loved the convenience of provided wagons for moving gear, and the kayaks and paddleboards were easily accessible, making for a delightful time on the calm, scenic river. Highly recommend this gem for a relaxing camping getaway!

Quite literally the best spot I’ve been to so far. Theres a nice warm shower and porta potty, the sites are spaced out enough, that you can’t hear others. Theres water being in the background was lovely. Kayaked up the river and enjoyed the beautiful views. Definitely will be back!

3232 is a good spot to land after a day at Pedernales State Park -- only ten minutes from this campground. My son and small dog stayed at the Comanche Glamping Tent and were comfortable and had a good time. I initially worried that we were too close to the road as it's one of the first sites in the campground, but it got very quiet at night so that wasn't an issue. This tent is right beside the bathrooms, kitchen and communal fire pit area. This was convenient, and there were some campers who stayed there past the designated quiet hour of 10pm, but it wasn't an issue for us.

WOW! These vibes are incredible. Blew me out of the water especially for the price of a tent site with yoga studio/game room, 4 private bathrooms, 2 small pools and a sauna, not to mention the full kitchen with free oatmeal and pancakes (cook your own). Also loved the hammock grove that we camped near with plenty of shade from the sun on the left side of the road. She was very friendly and had amazing attention to detail. I’m impressed and will definitely be back to try the A-line cabins. The view was also outstanding.

Recent flooding made quite a mess but it's still pleasant here. Several friendly and permanent residents and farm animals. Creek-side private campground hideaway available. This is a CAMPGROUND: NO RV, ROOM, BED, INVOLVED - BRING A TENT AND GEAR FOR COMFORT (check my other listings for an RV stay). This a "want to camp" campground and not a living solution. If you "need to camp" due to financial or other reasons, Camp EZ will likely not be a good fit for you. 6 nights maximum stay. Not suitable for very young children. Please include your child in your count. Campfires in designated area only with permission (burn ban sometimes). Bring firewood. Community vibe 'round here; everyone is expected to be quiet and respectful of one another and clean up after themselves "leave no trace" style. Six night maximum stay. Bring a tent and gear needed to be comfortable. 2 private hot outdoor showers, rustic kitchen and 2 charming flush restrooms included. Wood fired sauna available. This is not a KOA or a state park. This is a home hostel/campground. It's kind of rustic and we like it that way. You may see a roach, ant or cricket and you may also see a deer, fox or coyote. We are busy and not always able to visit for long. Lots of remodeling and flood related cleanup chaos here but also lots of pretty and secluded nature. Short walk to bus stop and historic Sagebrush HonkyTonk and Austin Bergstrom Airport is 9 easy highway miles away. Rustic outdoor shower/kitchen/privy. BYOTent. No wild or excessive partying here please and please remember: no smoking. WE NOW HAVE A COVERED PING-PONG PLAYING AREA ! Other details to note: Street parking. Camping is a very short walk from parking lot. We have carts to tote your gear if needed. Sorry, this campground is not set up to be able to park next to your site. We’ve transformed 45 acres of what was once an active rock quarry just 15 years ago, into a healthy, regenerative, green space as well as an event and training venue. Our venue is nestled in the middle of the rapidly growing suburban landscape around us in north San Antonio. We purchased the property five years ago from good friends who had already started the mission of revitalizing the land. Today, 39 of the acres are in “preservation” status, which means that we are letting the natural micro-ecosystems that have developed from what remained of the quarrying activities 15 years ago to develop on their own. We hope to always keep this acreage in that status for generations to enjoy. The remaining 6 acres is wooded, where we live, have gardens, farm animals and where we interface equitably with our environment. Feel free to simply relax in the shade of the persimmon and juniper trees.
