Not much to say, we pulled in late and left early. Probably could have parked on the side of the road, but I hate getting woken up and having to move. James the host was responsive and helpful. The place looked pretty killer for a nice getaway. It's not a typical campground, it's private land with outhouses and sites with firepits. Very reminiscent of a Baja situation. Host says he locks the gate at night but I couldn't confirm. Overall I'd recommend

Weekend Trip to Indian Blanket Ranch - Utopia Texas

We stayed twice this season so far and it's honestly a fast favorite! We have a small 16' teardrop that fits perfectly for use at sites 1, 2, 3, 6, & 8. Our 1st trip was with some friends, their kids and our dogs at sites 6, 7, & 8 at the recommendation of the owner. Perfect to sit at the shaded campfire space @ 8 with space for everyone's tent! The 2nd trip was for a family birthday camping with some dogs as well @ site 1 - which was adjusted to site 2 to be further from the entrance road. James is always very responsive and easy to communicate with for anything! Notes for potential campers: - IT IS JUST THE WOODS...in the suburbs. There is the convenience of access to stores if you forgot something but once you are on site, there is 1 port-a-potty (cleaned 1/wk?) that is within a 5-10 minute walk from any site. No water connections & no electricity. Great "tester" for introducing people to camping b/c of the safety net of being so close to civilization. - Most sites VERY well shaded. If you are in site 1 or 2 I recommend bringing a canopy because the sites are cleared pretty well. - Road is very accessible but it is a dirt/rock road. More uneven and larger rock than gravel. - Sites 4-8 have the least road noise, with the lowest road noise being at 8. - Carpool for groups as much as possible. Parking (except at 1, 3, or 8) limited. - 8+ppl tents: Sites 1-4 & 8 have space for at least 2 tents; site 6 (maybe 5?) for 1 tent; sites 5 & 7 poss. but tight - Very walkable!

This is an amazing find and a great weekend getaway! It was my favorite HipCamp find so far. The cabin is very secluded and quiet. The nature trails are beautiful and very well maintained. Leann was very responsive to messages and a great host. There is a gate around the cabin to keep your fur babies close. We had clear skies and enjoyed star gazing in the hot tub. I can’t wait to return!

5 nights at Bandera Riverwalk RV Resort #48

Great location, spot, and site. Easy in, easy out. Great communication. We would definitely use Hipcamp and Benjamin’s place again.

Our group really enjoyed our experience at the Lost Woods Campground. We stayed at site 6 which was super convenient for us since it allowed us to back our vehicle right up to the camp spot.

Weekend Trip to Grapevine Springs Retreat

Lost Woods seemed far away from the city but in actuality you could run to a store to pick up something you forgot in 10 mins. Sites were far enough away from each other that you felt like you were the only one out there for miles! It was great and my best friend and I loved it there!! We did visit during a burn ban due to the winds and couldn't have a campfire but that was ok. It was so relaxing and we had camp stoves so we just heated up food that way and sat around and talked and listened to music ... 3 days of relaxation.. doesn't get better than that! I did read reviews about road noise... Yes there is a little bit during the day but nothing major... We actually didn't even notice it. Just a reminder as we saw some campers unprepared, even though it's stated through out their website,... Bring water .. For hand washing, drinking, bathing, Coffee... Etc. We had a portable shower, potty and a portable stove with a coffee pot.... And we filled our empty gallon water containers with faucet water from our house and used that for washing, etc... Just bought a couple gallons for drinking.....we could have stayed out there for a month ..... Lol. Just be prepared.... It's just the woods.... And awesome! Thank you James for a wonderful 3 days!!! We will definitely visit again!!

Weekend Trip to Grapevine Springs Retreat

The beauty of this hill country land is amazing. Quiet and peaceful. My family and I enjoyed the clear water of the swimming hole, it was cool but perfect when the sun was over us. Wilson is very nice, helpful and fun guy! He was a great guide showing us all around the property and giving us options as to our campsite. There’s plenty of space for small or large groups. We got the opportunity to enjoy the less rough off-road trails and saw some beautiful views. If you’re lucky enough like we were, you’ll get to enjoy all the adventures this property has to offer.

Very well kept land perfect for a night or two alone.

We really enjoyed our night in site 12. It was secluded and spacious. The large stone fire pit with provided wood is a wonderful bonus. Although the Lost Woods feels like the middle of nowhere, it is actually in town and you can hear some soft traffic noise. Note: There is a small pen across the road from site 12. They were quiet - other than when the owner came to feed them. As a bonus the goats all came over to the fence across the road from our site to say goodbye🙂.

We loved camping here! Site 13 was great and super private and secluded. We were looking for a hike in spot and spot 13 provided that, although it wasn’t far since we are new to backpacking. Had trouble finding the location and reached out to James and he responded immediately and gave us clear directions and we found the spot very easily after that. All and all would definitely book again. 10/10

Weekend Trip to Hill Country Escape

Had a blast!! Great spot located just outside of San Antonio. I enjoyed a solo staycation at site 12. Very large area with a huge fire pit! I will definitely be back!

Just spent this weekend out at Chris's spot. As much as i'd like to keep this spot a secret, i definitely want others to experience how awesome this place is. Chris and crew were very welcoming and the site is absolutely incredible. If you like to fish, you would love this spot. If you don't you would still love this spot. Very quiet and very clean. I'll definitely be booking this spot again in the future.

Weekend Trip to Hill Country Escape

Beautiful property that is conveniently located next to multiple State Parks. Plenty of exciting terrain to explore right here on the property without needing to adventure out too far. Peace, quiet, and the stars at night were to die for.

We loved how the Lost Woods was so close to the city. We were able to get out for a my CB needed quick night of camping. Site 4 was nice and secluded and was had perfect trees to set up two hammocks near the campfire. The hiking trails could use some work, it doesn't look like they get much use. Overall I’d recommend this spot.

A network of trails criss-cross the creek and wind throughout the property under a peaceful canopy of large beautiful trees. Don't be surprised if you run into deer, squirrels, or roadrunners! Our property is home to a wide variety of hill-country wildlife. - Each of our campsites are private and surrounded by forest. - Each site has a fire ring for campfires - Our trees are our most precious natural resource and set this campground apart! Please don't do anything to harm them. - Port-o-john is available on site. - All of our campsites are primitive. No electric or water here. - When you camp with us you are welcome to explore and play on the entire property! We have 55 acres of trails and woods to explore! Please bring your bikes, trail shoes, or whatever helps you have fun in the wild! - Hammocks welcome! We have so many trees! All of our sites are hammock-friendly. - When you check-in, just text us, your host will help you find your campsite. - Some sites are drive-in where your vehicle can park right next to the fire. Others are walk-in and require a short hike of 100' or less from your parking space. You can indicate your preference during booking or at check-in. If you want to drive right into your site, Campsites 2, 3, 6, and 12 are the sites you want. Some of our campsites are more secluded than others and offer extreme privacy in the most beautiful settings we have to offer. If you're looking for a wilder campsite surrounded by huge old trees and all the peace the woods have to offer, just request Campsites 4, 5, 7, or 8. Each of these sites requires a walk of at least 50' from your vehicle to the fire ring. Site 13 is only for backpackers or people willing to hike about 500 yards to the campsite over rough terrain. There is no way to drive to it or even get close except on foot. But it is spectacular and beautiful! Only three sites can accommodate a smaller trailer or camper. Site 1, Site 2, and site 6. Please notify me in your booking if you intend to bring a camper and I can accommodate you. We practice leave-no-trace as much as possible. So please pack out anything you pack in. You are responsible for removing all trash. If any garbage is left behind in your site you will be billed for the cleanup. We have a dumpster located near the front gate. Please use it and put all your trash in there. Heads-up! We have a small farm on the property. Dogs are always welcome and we LOVE our furry friends! For their safety and the safety of our livestock please keep them leashed while on property.
