The pond is stocked with bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill and perch.
There is also a small island we call “Angel Island” that you can fish from or just sit on the deck with your favorite beverage and enjoy the view.
There is a riding/walking trail that is approximately 0.7 miles in distance and basically encompasses the perimeter of the back area.
Walking is common, bikes are welcome and small 4 wheelers are also welcome. No side by sides please.
You won’t be over crowded here as we currently only have 7 total camping sites. However, we do have enough property to accommodate large parties, reunions or any other type of get-togethers.
Come see us and enjoy time away from the fast paced city!
You might hear the sounds of the coyotes yipping in the night or perhaps one of the great horned owls calling out from a big oak tree.
You may also see some deer, rabbits, squirrels and even armadillos.

Our 100 acre heritage property has been in the family for over 150 years. Since 2017, we've been operating our land as a Vegan, Regenerative-Agriculture Farm & Animal Sanctuary. We currently have 2 dogs, 3 cats plus a herd of 31 Cows, 4 Potbelly Pigs and 2 Spanish Goats. The cows and pigs are all rescue animals so, where as they are adapted to humans being around them, they are very shy and petting them is not allowed. There are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore and gorgeous views of the Texas horizons....time your stay just right and you can stand directly between the sunset and the moonrise! We also have a hike-and-bike, nature trail that offers a 360 loop around the property.
We have a new construction Bath House on site for restroom needs w/ hot showers and composting potties plus a cold-water sink w/ non-potable water suited for washing produce, hands, dishes or camping gear.

This small lake is one of three lakes in the area called "Cade Lakes". Great for catching crappie, bass and catfish. Kids enjoy watching the turtles push each other off the logs seen around the banks. If you love to fish, the greatest fishing lake in Texas is a few miles away near Somerville, TX called "Lake Somerville". It's a scenic drive to the Overlook Marina and Lake Somerville Dam. Several State Parks surround Lake Somerville, the closest from this location is "Birch Creek State Park" with beautiful hiking trails. Highly recommend the drive to check the Parks out. Also recommend visiting "Washington on the Brazos", the birthplace of Texas and is where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed. It is also a State Park. And all the ice cream lovers must visit the home of "Blue Bell" in Brenham, TX which is only open to the public during the weekdays, not weekends. While in Brenham, kids love to skate at the historic "Silver Wings Ballroom", known as one of the best skating rinks in Texas! Fire pits are available in two different areas of the property, and campfires are permitted within these designated spaces. The land is divided through the middle, which allows convenient access for parking. Bikes and ATVs are welcome, but for your safety, please do not enter or attempt to use any areas that seem unsafe. Guests are welcome to collect firewood from fallen branches or trees already on the ground. However, please do not cut, damage, or remove any standing trees. As this is a primitive camping site, there is no electricity or running water available. Please bring your own drinking water and water for personal use. Our compost bathrooms contain a small amount of water for basic showering; however, if the water runs out, guests will need to provide their own. These bathrooms are enclosed on three sides and are located a short distance from the campsites, providing a reasonable level of privacy. There is a pond located toward the back of the property. Swimming is not permitted. Fishing is allowed, but it is strictly catch-and-release. You may drive closer to the pond only when the ground is dry. Please do not attempt to drive there after rain, as the soil becomes very soft and vehicles may become stuck. Trash bins are not provided, so please pack out all trash and belongings when you leave. As this is a large property, we are still working to remove items left behind by previous owners. We do have neighbors nearby, so please be respectful and mindful of noise levels. The property is only partially fenced, and animals may
occasionally pass through the area looking for food or shelter. Please remain aware of your surroundings during your stay. A train passes nearby from time to time, so guests who are light sleepers may want to plan ahead. If you plan to bring pets and allow them off leash, please note that we are not responsible for any injuries or incidents. One of our neighbors in particular has a breeding issue and his dogs tend to bark especially at night. Because this is an unrestricted property area, there is limited control over neighboring animals (we have tried to resolve this issue with no results) If you are a light sleeper, we recommend bringing earplugs or headphones to minimize any noise disturbance during your stay. 5D is so close to home yet it feels so remote. This site was very large and surrounded by dense woods so it felt very secluded and private. The trails and sites are well maintained. We spent a great weekend here with friends and the kids loved exploring the trails.

I had a great experience at this campsite for second time. The area was clean, well-maintained, and felt safe the entire time. Weekend Trip to Great Escapes Bryan/College Station
The cabin was nice, clean and well laid out. We were able to park very close to our cabin which made transporting things easy. We were in town to attend a weekend long tournament at the Brazos Expo Center, and it was super convenient to go back and forth to our cabin. Next time we are in town for a tournament we will rent a cabin here. We like having a private space, so this works much better than a small hotel room.

Absolutely loved camping at 5d ranch!!
We had another camp site we were supposed to stay at but a tree fell over that campsite so very short notice we booked a spot at 5D ranch and they were very accommodating for us and we are greatly appreciative of it. The campsite was perfect. So many trees so was very shaded and having that seclusion as well being tucked back. The pond was awesome as well, we were able to take the boats out and had an amazing time! Absolutely loved it and are definitely coming back again!

5D ranch is a charming campground with a mixture of forest and meadow. The directions were clear, the host friendly and helpful, and the bathrooms far better than a porta potty.
Site 22 specifically is set just inside the edge of the treeline and has a view across the meadow. The bathroom is a short walk across the meadow. The ground is sandy and even after several days of heavy rain we didn’t have trouble with puddles or mud. There are no other campsites within 100 ft of site 22. There is plentiful shade, trees for hammocks, flat ground for a tent, and a centrally placed fire ring. We didn’t have trouble with bugs or ants.
Our kiddos did the “meet the ponies” and “feed the chickens” experiences and said that they had a great time. Overall we had a good experience and would stay here again

The ranch was a great place for our 3-night stay with our dogs. The site we chose (#9) was secluded and large - big enough for a family gathering. It was mostly shaded, which was great for keeping cooler on warm days. We noticed a lot of variety in the types of sites available - some on the smaller side, some very large, some remote, some in more open areas - so anyone should be able to find the right spot for their needs. The main bathroom (no electricity/hot water) was clean and well-kept. We enjoyed the trails, and even enjoyed getting a little lost in the woods! The host was friendly and efficient. I'd recommend it and would definitely go back.

This was our first camping trip with our toddler, and I couldn’t have found a better spot!
The property is peaceful, beautiful, and well kept. Julie took great care of us. Site 17 is secluded and surrounded by shade trees, close walk to an outhouse, and has easy access to trails. The lake is not far at all, and our son loved fishing, the boats, and just throwing rocks in the water.
We will definitely be back.

This was a nice reasonably quick location. Not too far from Houston when you want to get away for a couple of days. The staff for super nice and friendly.

5D ranch was a wonderful stay! Campsites were in great condition and the property is well maintained (clear pathways, clean trails, etc).
Campsite 10 is very secluded and exactly what I was looking for. Perfect if you want to truly feel “away” from everyone but still a couple minutes walk from other sites and the out house. Other campers consisted of families & dogs that were all very kind! We were able to meet some folks at the fishing pond while having plenty of space to do our own thing.
But I must say that Julie and her family are what made this an incredible experience. From the second we checked in to the moment we left, Julie and her daughter were so welcoming. Felt like we had visited several times :) will definitely be back!
