What a lovely site! It was super private and we had the sweetest canine camp host, Shasta. This was a true escape, very peaceful and remote. Our human host, Davey, met us at the site and kindly showed us around as soon as we arrived. Can’t wait to stay again.

Great spot not too far from Houston. Quiet and relaxing lake. Local dogs will break into anything they can, so be careful—we forget to lock our camping box. Overall, peaceful location we hope to visit often Also, Granpops down the road has legit hamburgers!.

Kevin’s land was perfect. I needed to get out of the city for a night and decompress somewhere private. Coming from the PNW this gave me a taste of home. Going in the spring it was lush and green, and we had a donkey, a horse, and a herd of cattle roaming where we set up. They were incredible hosts and showed us around the property and took us out to an oil rig down the road where we were able to walk back. If you’re looking for a place to call all your own, I would recommend it.

Easy to go get supplies in Giddings.
This was a motocamping trip for me and there are great motorcycle roads all over the area.

We LOVED camping with a horse, a donkey and cows…a first for us. The horse was super curious and friendly (nosy). The donkey was curious, too (as well as adorable). The cows kept their distance and the horse and donkey moved on after vetting and checking for snacks.
Communication with the host was good, too. He allowed us to stay as long as we wanted. Beautiful property and a lot of fun.

We really enjoyed staying on Hollie and Davey’s land. We were at RV Site 1. It was level, had plenty of room and had water and electric hookups. We were greeted by Shasta, a very friendly dog who also accompanied us on walks around the property. We liked the peace and quiet. We were near a road but rarely heard any traffic. They have other more remote sites but they didn’t have electricity. We were fine where we stayed. It was very a very relaxing place. I recommend it and would stay there again.

Beautiful and serene. Feels very private. The rundown barn is picturesque snd adds to the landscape. Saw some deer and enjoyed visiting with the donkey and paint. Directions provided were easy to follow and communication from kevin was great. Thanks again! Will definitely be back.

It was great tent camping on Hollie & Davey’s land! We booked an RV spot, but they let us know beforehand that we could use a tent spot for the sake of privacy as the other RV would be occupied. That turned out to be wonderful, as we were able to get good sleep away from the lights and sounds of the RV people. The tent spot was on a plot of open land backed up to the trees, and ours had a very nice little covered area within the trees where we were able to hang up a hammock in the shade. Very comfortable and quiet, and I loved the cows!

We booked this reservation last minute not knowing what to expect. We were the first ones to book this RV resort through hipcamp. We were overwhelmed with the scenic views as well as all the amenities(including valet trash). Laundry is through a user friendly app. Multiple very clean bathrooms with huge showers. Wifi is excellent through out the entire resort. The staff were very attentive and full of smiles. They are cows that come out to pasture for a tiny bit then disappear. Make sure you stop to use the hot tub! The resort is next to a highway but otherwise it didn't bother us. We stayed comfortably at the XL Pull-Thru site with our 43 ft 5th wheel(firepit and wood provided) Quiet hrs 10-7am(pin quiet) Downtown is eight minutes away. Try the coffee at Mescalito Coffee. Thank you to The Hilltop staff for a wonderful time!

Nice quiet spot. We had a 37ft 5th wheel and was able to get in and out of the spot. Not sure that I would try anything bigger though. Kevin was nice, responsive and flexible on check in. We did not require hook ups or water, so I can’t speak to that. However, if you turn off highway 6 across from the gas station, the roads are wide and easy to navigate all the way to the property entrance. The gas station has a little restaurant inside, with good burgers. The Mexican food wasn’t the best, but all around decent food.
We pass thru often and will definitely consider staying again if needed in the future. 5 stars all around.

1 night at Sandhill Farms Tent Camping
Nice quiet and safe spot in the countryside. Perfect place to get a good nights rest. Cool property with longhorns! Right down the road is a beautiful view of the Texas country! Kevin was accommodating and am very thankful he let me check in at night after a long day!
