It adjoins a 950 acre wildlife park with 1200 exotic animals. Many can be seen from the road or you can pay to drive through and feed the animals. Your host is Randall Oliver. He has been organizing group campouts for years and enjoys hosting, bringing people together and inspiring a love of nature, camping and paddling. Everyone is welcome and campers are treated like family. He can teach your kids to kayak and build a camp fire. You can fish for largemouth bass, cat, crappy and bluegill in the two ponds and swim, paddle kayaks and paddle boards, hike the jungle trail and socialize around the campfires. There are no designated campsites. You can camp anywhere except between the green building and the front pond. No vehicles are allowed back on the property. Off road wagons are provided to help haul your gear. Front pond camping areas are 30-100 yards from parking area. The rear pond is more secluded but farther from the parking and outhouse. There are four fire pits around the front pond and one next to the rear pond. The tiny handcrafted Hummingbird Tree House is perched on an elevated deck overlooking the front pond. and features a queen bed, a bed in the loft for two small kids, electricity, lights, fan, hummingbird stained glass windows, screened operable windows and a screened, operable porthole window in the kids loft. The deck has lights, tables and chairs and outdoor table and chairs and a thatch covered umbrella. There is no heat or AC in the tree house. You must bring your own sleeping bags, blankets and pillows. No food, smoking or pets allowed in the tree house. There is a rustic outhouse with a modern composting toilet, sink, faucet, lights, soap, etc. and a nearby cold water outdoor shower (no privacy), sink, counter and faucet. I didn’t get the chance to meet Judy in person, but she was nothing but responsive and helpful! I only got the Day Pass so i could get a lay for the land and spend some time in nature, and even if I couldn’t stay for long, it was a wonderful and peaceful time. Definitely will be booking a campsite in the future (and buying some food for the llamas!) when the weather warms up a bit, cause I would love to come back and stay for the whole day. PS: the cat wandering the property was an absolute sweetheart. Didn’t expect to make a friend while I was there!

Absolutely amazing!!! I can’t wait to come back. Melissa was the best house and the property was even better than I expected. I was so comfortable, secure and felt like I was totally isolated. At the same time, I knew help or something I needed was just a text away. The fire pit made cooking a breeze, and I spent so much time in the sauna. The bathtub was amazing and fully stocked!

This was one of our best camping trips! My 7 year old grandson loved it. I felt safe about allowing him to be independent. The sites are beautiful. We stayed in the Tree House which was very quant and comfortable. Viewing the night sky from the deck was incredible. Rand is an amazing host! He is very friendly and informative. We would definitely do this again. My grandson said he can’t wait to bring his parents.

We had the best time! The campground was fantastic and Judy made sure the facilities were fully stocked at all times. The llamas were great and we would come back!! I’m recommending this campground to all of our friends!!

This place was awesome!! The land is well kept and waking up to llamas was absolutely magical! Judy was so sweet and met us super late at night to help us get settled! We had the best time.

Weekend Trip to Sleep Under the Pecan Trees

This was our second stay ar Ricks land. Great host, beautiful property, clean campsites. And the fishing was fantastic. Willie the mule is a star. Will definitely come back.
