If you dislike how close you are to other campers in state parks and are looking for an alternative, this is the place to go. A group of us camped there for one night and we had the best of time. Rand is a gracious host providing clear instructions and directions. His property is beautiful and tranquil where you can hike and do water activities in the pond. We were there the day after Pink Full Moon and the sky was clear that was perfect for Star and moon gazing. Beautiful water, tree house, & property!! We celebrated my husbands birthday with friends and my kiddos kayaked and paddle boarded for first time. Randol was so helpful and hospitable providing life jackets and a sleeping mat when my inflatable mattress deflated. Just kind hospitality. We made it through the rain camping in a tent and lightning & made the best of it! Was a lot of fun & beautiful peace filled getaway. I have camped at Randal’s place many times but this was my first time sleeping in his treehouse. It looks very rustic and I loved the hummingbird stained glass window! The bed was comfortable and I slept well on it. It was a bit warm at night so I am glad to be able to use the electric outlet available to plug in my phone. A thunderstorm rolled in overnight but the treehouse was well insulated so no water got in. I definitely want to stay there again sometime!

We LOVED llama land ranch! It was the perfect getaway from Fort Worth for the weekend. Our campsite was tucked away from the other sites on either side of us so we didn’t feel like we were near others. Judy was so welcoming and responsive. The bathrooms are “NICE NICE NICE” as advertised and pretty cool as they are in a silo. The llamas, pups, and cats around the place were so much fun to be around. It was such a peaceful retreat for the weekend. We will definitely be back! Very family friendly or if you want to keep to yourselves that’s easy too :)

Texas Safari Camp was fantastic. We went as a group of 9 LGBT friends and we felt incredibly welcomed. Randall is a very kind and accommodating host who has been hosting campers on his property for decades. The property itself was lovely. There are two ponds on the property. We camped next to the back pond which was a bit of a hike with all of our gear, but the off-road carts provided make this much easier. We took advantage of the stand up paddle boards, kayaks, and swam in the main pond. It was a great time! The trails on the property are well maintained and nice to traverse. Would recommend this location and we will definitely be back again.

Welcome to Texas Safari Camp Come escape to a heavily wooded 31 acre pristine wildlife habitat. Only one hour east of Dallas but it feels like another world. At the end of a one lane rock road- this is a very secluded property. It is perfect for tent camping groups and individuals, has a very positive vibe and is more peaceful than most state parks. It adjoins a 950 acre wildlife park with 900 exotic animals. Many can be seen from the road or you can pay to drive through and feed the animals. Your host is Randall Oliver. He has been organizing group campouts (with as many as 40 people) for years and enjoys hosting, bringing people together and creating new friendships and memories. Everyone is welcome and campers are treated like family. He can teach your kids to kayak and build a camp fire. You can fish for largemouth bass, cat, crappy and bluegill in the two ponds and swim, paddle kayaks and paddle boards, hike the jungle trail and socialize around the campfires. There are no designated campsites. You can camp anywhere except between the green building and the front pond. No vehicles are allowed back on the property. Off road wagons are provided to help haul your gear. Front pond camping areas are 30-100 yards from parking area. The rear pond is more secluded but farther from the parking and outhouse. There are four fire pits around the front pond and one next to the rear pond. The tiny handcrafted Hummingbird Tree House overlooks the front pond and features a queen bed, a smaller bed in the loft, electricity, lights, a fan, screened operable windows and outdoor table and chairs on the elevated deck. There is no heat or air conditioning in the tree house. You must bring your own sleeping bags, blankets and pillows. No food, smoking or pets allowed in the tree house. There is a rustic outhouse with a modern composting toilet, sink, lights, soap, etc. and a nearby cold water outdoor shower (no privacy), sink and faucet.

It’s full of bass, bluegill, crappie and catfish, we encourage catch and keep fishing since the lake could use a little fishing pressure. We also have a beaver pond, and resident beaver. These plants live here too: Beautyberry, Dewberry, Pokeberry, Sparkleberry, Dogfennel, Dogwood, Yaupon Holly, Holly, Wax Myrtle, Sassafras , Lyreleaf Sage, Carolina Crane’s bill, Coral Honeysuckle, Western White Honeysuckle, Smooth Cat’s Ear, Daisy Fleabane, Prairie Onion, Mullein, Summer Grape, Water Lily. The entire water lily plant is edible, did you know? Swim, hang out, cool down on the small swimming dock. Canoe and kayak included! Based on shared availability, we have 1 two person canoe, and 3 kayaks for use on our lake free of charge. There are smaller size adult life jackets and oars/paddles. Bring your own life jackets for kids. About the Bees Please do not bring or use any insect killer or insect repellent other than what you apply to your own body. We have several honey bee colonies living here and our neighbor keeps bees as well. For the safety and health of our bees, the use of man made insect killers or repellents on the ground, in the air or on the foliage is absolutely not allowed. One natural remedy is diatomaceous earth. Sprinkled on the ground, it does a good job at keeping ants and crawling creatures away. Brookshire's in Hawkins less than 4 miles away if you need supplies. Verizon, ATT users have cell coverage here, no signal for T-Mobile users. LGBTQ+ friendly.

You can enjoy wooded walking paths in the 90-acre forest and pastures, ponds and wildlife, including deer, wild hogs, hawks, owls, roadrunners, doves, cardinals, jays, woodpeckers, mockingbirds, and many other species of birds. Small mammals such as armadillos, rabbits, and squirrels are often seen, and the property is also awesome for stargazing. Please watch out for snakes, scorpions, pesky mosquitoes, chiggers and ticks. This land has been a huge blessing to us and we hope you will enjoy your stay here. Arrival time should be no later than 9pm. Please inquire before booking if your arrival time might be later. We keep well landscaped. Our pond is fully stockedwith catfish, bass and brim. There is also a secluded boat ramp less than a mile from us that connects directly to cedar creek lake. We are also a short 5.4 miles away from the legendary Kemp Calaboose where Bonnie Parker, from the infamous Bonnie and Clyde, was jailed after robbing a local store in Mabank. The car got stuck in the mud while trying to flee, resulting in the theft of three cars and two mules before Bonnie and their accomplice were captured and jailed until Clyde broke them out!! The last 7 acres is a pathway heavily treed on both sides you may explore or ride 4 wheeler golf carts. We have a burn pit with seating that's being turned into a fire pit for bonfires and were happy to build a bonfire when requested! We are continuing to build on the property will soon add a shower and bathroom option not available yet. We do have a 1120 sq ft pavilion that's getting decorative touches now. It has tables/benches and several games. The pavilion itself is also available to rent for events if you're interested. We get wildlife from birds to frongs turtles and deer we do not promote or allow deer hunting on our property. Very beautiful flowers trees garden. Water feature in the making. The neighbors have livestock that visit the fence line daily. They also have fresh eggs for sale upon request. We have a seasonal garden that may be available depending on the time of years. We get lots of wildlife! A group of 12-15 deer visit daily we feedthem like pets, so we choose not to hunt them. We alsohave cranes, hawks, turtles, red billed ducks and several other type of wildlife , as our land backs up to a nature preserve. . We do warn about the occasional snakes, spiders and scorpions as we are in the country. We'll do all we can to accommodate wants and needs to make it the most memorable stay, all you have to do is ask!!!
