Learn more about this land: We hope you find everything you need for your home away from home stay. The WIFI password is listed in the cabin and the gate code and house code will be given to upon confirmation of your booking. Once inside you will find remotes for AC/HEATER, TV, and small fireplace...remotes are in a metal container to the left of the sofa sleeper. The bedding for the twin sleeper is in a bin under the queen bed along with additional towels in the bottom drawer of the dresser. The dresser is labeled with additional supplies. The cottage is stocked with snacks, water, coffee, toiletries and complimentary wine. There is a first aid kit and fire extinguisher in the bathroom. There is a can outside in the front to the right of the door that has snacks for the cows. You are welcome to go into the pasture where the cows visit but please only feed on this side of the fence, not inside the pasture. You may roam the 8 acres but our property line ends halfway of the pond. There will be an open gate for cows to visit to and from, but on the other side of the gate is not our property. You have access to the dock and fit pit with wood and starter. Please enjoy! You may fish if you like and will need your own fishing gear. You have access to the main house patio where you are welcome to use the grill, table, sink and the fireplace. However if freezing temperatures, the water will be turned off in the outdoor sink.

We are located just about mile from town where you can enjoy dinning and the small town vibe of our adorable down town. We have a movie theater, Bowling ally, Skating rink, Walmart and a well know ATV park (River Run) We are about a 6 min drive from the Beautiful Lake Jacksonville.

Kelly’s land was absolutely wonderful for a weekend of tent camping. The Sterling pond campsite was so spacious and serene. The fields of flowers were beautiful to walk around in and the forest hikes were so peaceful. We definitely felt like we were alone in the wilderness and it was so perfect. I would highly recommend!

Such a cozy place to stay, was on my first solo trip and I felt SO safe and the host were the sweetest. They also had a nice heated bathroom to get ready in and a good outdoor kitchen space, great if you van camp!

4 nights at A Little Piece of Paradise

This little slice of heaven was fantastic! The tub and the shower were an out-of-body experience. The kitchen was well stocked and everything worked! We enjoyed daily walks around the acreage, including the pier over the pond with the glass bottom and the sweet ponies who loved pets. The floor in the cabin was astounding. Many various materials and colors are beautifully patchworked around the entire cabin. It does make it inaccessible for people with mobility issues (but there aren’t any accessible entrances to the cabin either). Gilberto responded quickly and worked hard to make the space very welcoming. We will definitely be back and have already suggested it to several friends.

We loved our couple of days at the schoolhouse. It rained one of the 2 days out there, but we had the place all to ourselves since we were there the two days after Christmas.

It was a great location that was peaceful and Harlan was a great host who was helpful and kind. We enjoyed the farm atmosphere and having the goats wandering by now and then!

1 night at Double D Ranch Guest Cottage

I had the most amazing stay at this charming small cottage! The place was cozy, spotless, and surrounded by beautiful scenery that made it feel like a true getaway. The host went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. From the warm welcome to their helpful recommendations for local spots, they were attentive yet respectful of our privacy. The little thoughtful touches, like fresh flowers and a stocked kitchen, made it feel so special. I can’t recommend this place enough and can’t wait to come back!

The space is kept beautifully and extra special with the bulb lights and well maintained grassy area. The hosts are so kind and accommodating. The bathrooms even have a little heater inside. Lake Tawakoni State Park Known for featuring one of the largest spiderwebs ever recorded in the United States, Lake Tawakoni State Park is a popular destination for residents from Kaufman and other cities in the area. Covering a surface area of a little under 380 acres, this state park features a 38,000-acre reservoir where visitors can practice a vast array of water sports and recreational activities including boat and pier fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing. Lake Tawakoni State Park is located about 30 miles northeast of downtown Kaufman and can be reached in less than 40 minutes by car along routes US-80 and FM-2728. Visitors are required to pay a $5 daily usage fee, while those aged 12 or under can access free of charge. Open year-round between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., this park is also a popular spot for hikers and mountain bikers, featuring an extensive network of multi-use trails. 2. Dallas If you are looking for an urban destination where you can check out museums, landmark buildings, and historical sites, Dallas is the place to be.
