If fishing is your thing, cast bait in the 7,500-acre Joe Pool Lake. No fishing license is required to angle for the largemouth bass, catfish and crappie that call the lake home. Loyd Park is on the opposite side of Joe Pool Lake from Cedar Hill. This park is a bit smaller and more forested than Cedar Lake. Rent a cabin for six and enjoy a beautiful lakeside view from your porch. There's also a 40-person meeting room cabin here, excellent for large group outings. The weather in the Dallas area varies greatly by season, so pack accordingly! It's very hot and humid from June through September. Highs are commonly in the mid-90s. The facilities were clean and well maintained, and the WiFi near the little red building was fast and reliable. After spending time in the big cities of Texas, it was such a refreshing change to relax in a peaceful, green space with dark night skies and true country quiet. Sam greeted us on arrival and was very welcoming. He showed us around the farm and was interesting to chat with. If you’re looking for a safe, quiet, and friendly place to stay near Fort Worth, we’d highly recommend it.

This was my first Hipcamp stay and Sam and Sarah came to meet us shortly after we arrived and had everything ready as we pulled in. Hook up was great. They have great amenities. Sam spoke to us about his slice of heaven and walked with me to meet his chickens. Thank you so much. We will be back

Very peaceful and tranquil.. loads of meadow flowers. Off the beaten path but worth the effort. Easy in and out access. Bath house very clean and stocked. managers don't bother your privacy. Highly recommended and will stay again.

Loved this little spot. Very scenic, loved all the wild flowers. Very calm and quiet. The host was very friendly. Came by to say hi and was very accommodating. Great place, especially for the price. Would love to stay again!

Hosts were very responsive. Amenities were nice. Washer & dryer on site were not working unfortunately. Sites are in the open under the hot sun without shade just an FYI.

We loved staying at Friends in RV Spaces. It was in the country, on a beautiful piece of property. The hosts, Sarah and Sam, were very friendly. They made sure we had all the needed information about staying on their property, and asked us if we had any questions about the area. We will definitely stay there again if we come to the Fort Worth area.

This is a great location for a safe place to stay! It is very conveniently located near the centre of Fort Worth with some really great scenery along the way. We met Sam - he’s a great guy, very friendly and very accommodating. We only stayed the one night in our month long trip across America, but loved it. If only we had sites like this back home in Australia! Do yourself a favour and pick this great little hidden gem.

Very understanding owners! My husband didn’t listen well when I read out the instructions once we got there and we ended up making deep ruts in their front yard! It was quiet, good water pressure and communication was excellent.
