It's only a few minutes from April Sound and the largest marina on Lake Conroe, 8 minutes to Wal-Mart and Kroger, yet it's peaceful and quiet on our forested property. As full-time RV nomads ourselves we know RV park rates are getting crazy, Buck Acres is our attempt to help the community. We've done everything we can to keep rates down. The only amenities we offer are shade, Wi-Fi, electricity, water, and an ADA porta john that is cleaned every week. Affordable RV parks shouldn't be sweltering parking lots where you're packed in like sardines! At Buck Acres we have 100' tall hardwoods and pines that have been trimmed up 60' for the safety of you and your rig! Buck Acres is still under construction and it is a labor of love. Tired of the city ordinances that restricted raising fouls, I decided to look for an acreage that is not too far nor too close to the city and which allowed the raising of farm animals. We have a couple of ducks, 5 geese, 2 pigs, and 11 cows. But they will not bother you :-) We built a log cabin in the 17-acre property in preparation for downsizing when the boys go to to college. But when our neighbors had to move back to England, they sold us their house and 11-acre land. With the cabin on the 17-acre now vacant, we decided to open it for camping (on the land) or renting out the log cabin after building the 2-acre pond. Learn more about this land: Stay in the log cabin, or pitch a tent. Enjoy stargazing, or just enjoy the peace and quiet of the property. Pick wild grapes or wild blackberries when in season or spring wildflowers. Kayak or canoe in the pond. Cabin use is free, but these are STRICT RULES.1. No pets please, not even emotional support animals of any kind 2. No smoking inside the cabin 3. Do not use the bathroom towels for kitchen purposes or to wipe off dirt 4. Please no outdoor footwear indoors, but you are welcome to wear clean indoor footwear. Violation will result in forfeiture of the entire deposit 5. Cars MUST be parked on the rocked section, thus walking is necessary from this point. This is a 2-3 minute walk. The driveway might be dry but, no vehicles will be allowed past the rocked section. 6. Never leave food - solid or liquid - where ants can find them or you will cause them to infest the house including your bed! They can do so faster than you can imagine. 7. Please do not bring more people than officially booked, or we will cancel the reservation and force you to leave. No refund. We also close/lock the gate once you have checked in. We understand rules can be off-putting, but we had to disclose due to massive damage, thefts, and other violations by a few - Dawn S., Marc A., T. Frazier.
