Weekend Trip to Sandhill Farms Tent Camping

Kevin’s land was perfect. I needed to get out of the city for a night and decompress somewhere private. Coming from the PNW this gave me a taste of home. Going in the spring it was lush and green, and we had a donkey, a horse, and a herd of cattle roaming where we set up. They were incredible hosts and showed us around the property and took us out to an oil rig down the road where we were able to walk back. If you’re looking for a place to call all your own, I would recommend it.

I had such a great experience at this campsite! Wonderful secluded spot where you really feel connected with nature. Lots of land you can explore and my dog was able to roam around freely. Host was very nice and responsive and even helped fill up our air mattress when our air pump wasn’t working. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice camping spot near the water!

1 night at Haven Retreat Lake & Woods Camping

This was such a neat spot. On a beautiful property with a great lake for fishing and playing in the water. The land steward Brandon was a pretty neat guy who took care of the property and us the guest wonderfully !

1 night at Circle C CampGrounds

Circle C CampGrounds was a convenient location for me to spend a night while hiking a short portion of the Lone Star Hiking Trail (LSHT) The campground is spacious and peaceful, and just steps away from the trail. I enjoyed the comforts available such as the lighted pavilion with sockets for charging my phone, potable water for drinking, and a flush toilet and outdoor shower. This campground is a nice option for folks who want to backpack but are not quite reading to rough it overnight at a primitive campsite along the trail. I had the entire place to myself on a Tuesday night in April. I did not meet Terry in person but we had great communication via the app and by text. I would stay here again, and would recommend it to others.

Weekend Trip to 5D RANCH

We had an amazing experience at this campsite! Our group consisted of two families with children ranging from 5 to 11 years old, and the ranch was the perfect size for them. The kids had a blast riding their bikes to the lake, fishing from the boats, and paddling around in the boats. The sunsets over the lake were absolutely stunning, and the overall vibe of the site was everything we hoped for. It felt like we were immersed in the forest, surrounded by trees, which made the experience even more magical. The site itself was spotless, and we really appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the rural toilet near Site 12. It was equipped with toilet paper, a light with a sensor, and added a level of comfort we weren't expecting. Even the family dog was friendly and welcoming, which was a nice bonus! Julie’s family made the experience even more special. Everyone was incredibly kind, and we enjoyed chatting with them. Eddie, in particular, shared fascinating stories from his wonderfully adventurous life. We’re already looking forward to returning and exploring other sites! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful, family-friendly camping experience.

This is our second trip to 5D ranch. We brought out a small group of kids to celebrate an 11th birthday. Julie was wonderful in introducing us to her horses. Campsite 22 was perfect for our needs. We will be back!

Circle C was a great place to camp, I was very comfortable, I love that he provided firewood free of charge, Terry was very accommodating and helpful. the hiking trails next to the campground were really nice. the campground itself was kept up very nice as well as the bathroom, shower area, it was nice that there was available hot water and electric in the common area if I needed it.

The views at Hilltop Prairie were gorgeous! We loved getting to explore the property with our kids and dog. William was a friendly and welcoming host, giving us maps and explaining the layout of the property and stayed in touch through the app. The property is far enough from town to feel secluded, but close enough that a run to the store for forgotten supplies was quick and easy. We would definitely recommend this place!

First solo camping trip and had a great experience. Not just a regular concrete pad with water and electricity but a true outdoor experience. Weekend Trip to The Navasota River Ranch

This place is a must if you’re close to Houston/Austin and enjoy the outdoors. Plenty of fishing opportunities and lots of trails to walk with the kids. We did my sons birthday there and it couldn’t have turned out any better

The views were beautiful, first morning I heard the rooster crowing and cows mooing, didn’t see either, enjoyed the meet n greet with the horses and ponies! Everyone was super helpful and respectful. The wind blowing in the tall pines and all the birds singing was delightful. Bonus seeing people bring their horses here to ride! Slept 9 hours one night and had a 3 hour nap one day. Just want I needed!! Will definitely be back!!

The spot #1 was exactly how they described it,and Julie was very nice she went above and beyond making us feel comfortable.It was my wife and daughters first time tent camping and they both fell in love with it! Me and my girlfriend spent the weekend at site 10 on the ranch. Had an amazing time! Camp was quiet and so were the neighbors. Julie was so helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting the animals! Trust me, it’s worth it. Something about combing a horses mane hahahaha. Stars, lake and quigley the dog were all amazing experiences. Can’t wait for our next weekend there!

The Navasota River Ranch

The Navasota River Ranch is a 600 ac parcel of land bounded by more than a mile of the Navasota River on its west side and two tributary creeks on its north and southeast sides. The river bottom is wild and untamed, while the rest is rolling hills reminiscent of the prairie that once greeted settlers. Nearby is Bryan-College Station home of Texas A&M University To the west on Hwy 105 is Washington on the Brazos State Park. This is the location where delegates gathered to hastily draw up a declaration of independence before joining the Runaway Scrape to avoid capture and execution by the advancing Mexican Army. Farther down the road is the famous Blue Bell creamery in Brenham. The tour and ice cream are well worth the trip. On the property are miles of Jeep trails excellent for off road and 4WD vehicles. Guests might prefer hiking along these trails or strike out on foot trails and game trails. Thanks to the hunters who have come for the deer and feral hogs over the years there are numerous observation structures for viewing wildlife up close, or just enjoying the solitude of the deep woods. Three ponds offer bass and perch fishing from the bank or bring your own boat. And then there is the Navasota River...

Located just 10 miles North of Downtown Montgomery on FM149 (23510 Martha Williams Road). We have 5.5 Acres that backs up to the Lone Star Hiking Trail in the Sam Houston National Forest. Our Campsites are set up along the LSHT between Trailhead 3 and 4, in the Pole Creek trail area. We have 6 campsites and 1 campsite with a yurt and 1 cabin that sleeps 4. The campsites all have fire pits. There is a pavilion with a summer kitchen and BBQ pits for cooking meals. Shower (with hot water) and restroom are available for campers. The Cabin (sleeps 4-5 Full size bed, pull out sofa, Loft for 2. Fully furnished with bedding, towels, dishes, cookware, toiletries.
