Weekend Trip to Boulderdash Cabin & Camping

We loved camping out at Boulderdash! The campsites were clean and well maintained. There are amenities like freshwater, WiFi, and electricity available if you’d like, but it doesn’t feel like glamping. If you forget anything, Carol-Anne and Lyn have it handy. The riverside sites are a short walk to wading in the Medina river. The kids and dogs had a blast. Campers who come here should abide by the camp’s simple rule; don’t be a jerk. We’re looking forward to coming back as soon as possible!

I would definitely consider myself an avid outdoorsman/camper, and let me tell you that I am glad that I found this spot. This location has everything you need, restrooms, community sink, and amazing access to the river. The campgrounds are very clean, and the RV sites are perfect. Carol Ann and Lyn put their passion for camping and traveling into their property. And it shows. These people made us feel like we were family, and honestly just want you to have a great experience while you’re at Boulderdash. If I could give this place 10 stars I gladly would. 1 night at Sound Ground (fka Reverse Pioneers)

Lovely stay at the yurt, we were lucky enough to get to watch an epic Texas lightning show from the comfort of the deck. Directions were clear and easy to find even in the dark. Bring lots of firewood (no collecting on site) and some instruments and enjoy the Hill Country ambience.

Been to so many camp sites and Sparrow Bend is by far the best!! Clean amenities, spacious campsites, and the most gorgeous view. Sparrow Bend sets a high standard. It's hard to camp anywhere else without wanting to compare. It's doesn't get better, especially at such a reasonable price. Will be coming back over and over and over <3

My group & I loved camping here. It was beautiful, hosts were quick to respond/helpful when needed, amenities were better than expected! Outdoor showers/sink/bathrooms were nice. The space was also bigger than we expected. Only thing I'd recommend is to bring some ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. The dogs in the neighborhood would bark occasionally in the night/early AM and any sounds echo from the river canyon. It wasn't a deal-breaker but ear plugs made all the difference in sleep quality. Also, even though the river was low, the water was refreshing/clean & we were able to swim plenty (perfect for floats/paddleboards). Overall, a wonderful experience & we look forward to coming back!

Many level areas for dry tent camping with good views, especially sunsets. Optional tent spots offer semi seclusion. This is "dry" camping, there aren't bathrooms on site. We do have an outdoor shower that is well water temperature. One RV spot is available with water/electrical hook up. No black water dump available. Boerne is about a mile and a half away. The closest gas station is less than a mile. Boerne has a 24 hour Planet Fitness with hot water showers. Many restaurant options nearby. Three miles from Boerne Lake. Historic Luckenbach and Fredericksburg Wineries are about a half hour away. Our land is inhabited by two sweet and lively dogs. They will say hi and periodically check in but will otherwise leave you alone. We also have active bee hives on the property, but the bees are usually too busy to bother anyone.
