What a great experience with wonderful hosts! Mary and Steve are fabulous communicators and helpful with the stay and amenities while allowing privacy as well. The best of both worlds!! The location was great for us, pretty views, relaxing, and private enough while being close to the action. There are plenty of things to do at the site and on the lake or you can visit attractions. We had such an enjoyable weekend staying here! You’re basically right on the lake and the owners were so welcoming and generous. They have this “boat house” where you are able to use their canoe, life jackets and inflatable floaties. The lake was peaceful and the campsite, while near other homes, felt very secluded. We can’t wait to come back 😌

We enjoyed our stay at Otters Lake View . The host are lovely people and very helpful, The Resort feels secluded but is actually very convenient to the local attractions. The attached restaurant has great food and nightly music. You can bile to the restaurant, ice cream and gas station. There are 2 beaches with in biking distance. There is also a basket ball hoop. Campsites are quite and clean. Showers/Bathrooms are large and clean. They have a laundry facility but we did not use it. We would recommend and will return.

Mary and Steve’s place was so lovely! The campsite looks down on the lake providing quite spectacular sunsets! The hosts are extremely accommodating and even helped us get backed in the spot in the pouring rain! You also have access to their pavilion if they mention it. You can tell they love hosting and will do anything in their power to make sure you have an enjoyable stay. We used our own chairs to sit in the shade of our rig instead of the fire pit chairs because the sun is directly over the pit. We would certainly recommend this site to anyone who loves a good lake view.

Stayed in RV sites #8 & 9 while traveling the area. It was a great central location between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Little Pigeon River was pleasant and a short walk from the RV. Dog friendly was a big plus. After being cramped up for days, the dogs loved the running area. The place was very quiet and private. Highly recommend Ellis Cove. Good directions on finding this sweet gem.

This was an amazing campsite, and we ended up loving it so much that we stayed an extra night! The lakefront setting is absolutely beautiful, with great views and easy access to the water. The lake was a beautiful green color, clean, and easily swimmable, which made spending time by the water even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was having access to a canoe, and the hosts went above and beyond by helping us get it into the water. The hosts were fantastic throughout our stay- friendly, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience. Despite being on a shared property, the site felt surprisingly private and peaceful, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Another great feature is that the hosts mentioned there are multiple campsites on the property that can be rented together, making this a great option for larger families or groups who want to camp near each other while still having their own space. Honestly, we couldn’t find any downsides to our stay. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we would gladly return. Highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a peaceful lakeside getaway with exceptional hosts.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this property! It was the perfect location for a reunion with close friends. They flew in from another state and stayed in one of the tiny homes while we parked our RV in a campsite right beside them. The property is peaceful, beautiful, and well maintained. Our children loved catching lightning bugs, playing cornhole, fishing, and swimming in the river. We recommend bringing floats, tubes, or inflatable kayaks. The river flows gently—just enough to make floating enjoyable without being too fast. The fishing was great, and we did see several snakes in the river, but they kept their distance and we simply gave them plenty of space. The location is convenient to Gatlinburg and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We also highly recommend visiting the nearby Blowing Cave Mill and taking the tour—it was one of the highlights of our trip. We enjoyed meeting the owner and learning about the history of the property, which was once part of his family's farm. It's wonderful that the family shares this beautiful land while preserving its natural character. We had no issues getting our RV in or out. The mountain roads are narrow and winding in places, but that's to be expected and wasn't a problem if you take your time. Bring bug spray—we encountered some fire ants, which is simply part of enjoying the outdoors. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and we hope to return again someday!

3 nights at Ellis Cove

Yes! Ellis Cove was an excellent Hip Camp! It is close enough to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park that we enjoyed the park trails and waterfalls but far enough from the tourism of Gatlinburg to miss the chaos! It was easily accessed and had plenty of space. For pull through spaces, I felt it was a slightly-tight turn but could be accessed by pulling through their circle drive and coming at it from the other direction. We camped in Site 7. I liked it and would book it again. There was one other camper while we were there in Site 5. All the sites seemed flat, Site 6 seemed more even but the grassy area is not. We like to put up a screen room on the site so I was happy with 7. I am suggesting you look closely at 9, it’s like a thoroughfare and while we were there the people in the cabin parked right there. If that’s what’s left, great but otherwise, choose another spot!!

Great spot! Peaceful and quiet. Full hookups and well maintained. Close to Maryville and hiking in the Smokies. Grill worked well. Enjoyed our time here. Our kids loved the cows.

This place is delightful. Wide open grassy spaces for dogs and kids to run, and the river at the back of the property provides the perfect setting for a quiet morning coffee or an afternoon cool down. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves which meant lots of quiet river time. Spots were level and the place was clean! Do come prepared to pack out your trash however

Weekend Trip to Green Creek Camp on Douglas Lake

We had an absolutely amazing trip! Mary and her husband Steve, are the kindest people!! They worked so hard to make sure we had a nice time! They checked on us prior to arrival to offer any help we may need with directions or setting up our site! Upon arrival, the site was very easy to pull in to with our camper and boat in tow! The view was incredible, and the water was so close! We let the dogs swim! We had some storms during the night, and they were so kind to check on us! We loved having the hook ups for our camper, and had plenty of room to set up our screened porch! The sun finally came out, and they helped us put our boat in! They are currently building some new docks which we look forward to using next time, but we had no problems launching the boat from the driveway! We were able to enjoy the sunset on the water! It was an amazing trip, and we were so thankful for their thoughtfulness and quick responses to our questions! Cannot wait to go back!! Highly recommend this hipcamp!

The location of Ellis Cove is GREAT! Located between Pidgeon Ford and Gatlinburg, it’s close to all of the attractions in the area. The Little Pidgeon River is your backyard for floating or fishing. The few sites/tiny home cabins (9 total) are well maintained, as are the grounds.

Weekend Trip to Ellis Cove

We had a wonderful family camping trip here and truly enjoyed every moment. The campground was peaceful, well-maintained and perfect for a relaxing getaway. One of the highlights of our stay was river tubing in the creek behind our campsite. Our kids absolutely loved it! The host was incredibly kind and flexible, graciously accommodating our request to shift our reservation by a day due to some travel logistics. That level of understanding and hospitality made the experience even better. Everything on the property was clean, organized and working exactly as expected. We would absolutely recommend this campground to anyone looking for a quiet, family-friendly escape in nature.

2 nights at Ellis Cove

Very convenient to Great Smoky National Forest without having to be in a crowded campground lined up cheek by jowl. Very quiet and peaceful, located near a creek; we could hear the soothing sound of rushing water all day. The road leading into the Hipcamp was a bit twisty/turny but we made it there without any problems. It’s about a 30 minute scenic-drive to the entrance of the NP but that includes driving through Gatlinburg. Everything in the camp is new and we were very comfortable. There was only one other camper in the camp while we were there.
