In the middle of the property there is an opening with flat rock/soil surrounded by forest. Cedar glade plants are in bloom spring, summer and fall and the Nashville Bread root blooms beautiful in April and May. The forest is about 60-80 years old and has plants that grow here that don't grow anywhere else in the world. It is one of the reasons why Tennessee is one of the most biologically diverse inland states in the US. Learn more about this land: Two options: 1) bring your camper right off the interstate, stay a night or more! We can accommodate large campers and RVs. This site is closer to the front of the property and in view of the house. No litter removal (there is a 55-gallon cart by the Mt Juliet Yacht Club). But still a beautiful view of the enchanted cedar glade! Enjoy an evening stroll to burn off the drive stress and get some rest to go another day. Plenty of firewood, no hookups or dump site. If you are staying over the colder months, we do not allow the use of space heaters. You must be using propane to heat. This is a farm and you are free to roam about in the front field around the camp site and watch the sunset, relax and simply enjoy nature. We are less than an hour drive to 4 different Tennessee State Parks and about 40 minutes east of Nashville. We do not typically allow dogs for long term stays We have had some confusion come up because people aren't reading the site specifications, so here is the most important. It is a gravel site, so it is not level. We do have cinder blocks at the site to help with leveling. The site is going to accommodate rigs 35 to 36 ft max However, you MUST be comfortable backing your rig. In the winter, it is dark here by 4:30-5. So if you arrive at that time you will be setting up in the dark. Make sure you are reading the rules and safety for what is allowed here.

Relax on the side of the Cumberland Plateau while overlooking Burroughs Cove and the Elk River. You can see the camp sites from the main road, so there will be some road noise. Sites 1/2 are hard/large graveled, tent camping will be very challenging, heavy duty tent stakes are highly recommended with mats/padding. There is an electrical box at each end of the hard graveled parking areas (Sites 1 and 2) with 20- and 30-amp plugs, plus 110v. If the power is not working, please check the panel and turn on/reset the breakers, many of our guests turn them off when departing. If you are at Site #2 and the steps above do not work, please check/do the same at the Site #1 panel (it is the master power source). Water is NOT available on site. NOTE: Depending on the time of year (warmer months only) a water container with a limited amount of NON-POTABLE water is on site for your use. Please plan on filling your water reservoir(s) PRIOR to arriving. There is an outhouse for all guests, picnic tables and fire rings for Sites 1 and 2. The camping area is fairly close to SR-50 so please expect to hear some road noise, more so in the winter months. The entrance/driveway is on a small incline, if you are traveling in a light vehicle and a heavy camper, it's best to maintain a slow and steady speed to the camp site (for almost everyone, this is not an issue). If you are towing a camper, we recommend the total length of the vehicle and the trailer not exceeding 30ft, There is not a significant place to "turn around" at the sites and novice drivers (not used to backing out of tight spots with longer rigs) may find this very challenging. There is a double gate that is usually closed, and latched so it stays closed, it is not "locked". The site is self-serve (not manned), Site #1 is to the left, Site #2 is to the right, and Site #3 is down the path past the outhouse at the bottom of the path. It is recommended that campers set up early for Site 3 (still daylight) to get an idea of the layout. Parking for Site #3 is by the shed at the main entrance and power is not available at the site.

I've been using Hip Camp for two years, and this was by far the most beautiful place I've stayed. I was met by the hosts who helped me back in and make sure everything was ready for me. Perfect level pad with full hook-ups. Only 2 sites, and I was the only one there. Very peaceful with a really pretty forest with trails behind my site. I highly recommend this location. I hope to come back someday!

Perfect balance between staying on a really cute site, with a rural feel, while also having rapid access to Nashville and all it offers (and it offers so much). Off to the side (and across a small bridge) from a really attractive home the site is both private from it and benefits from water and electric hook up. The campsite neatly marked by solar lights making an after dark arrival very straightforward. And while we never met the hosts their App communication was excellent. If pulling a trailer I would approach from the direction the hosts suggest, as the second approach option, as backing in off the road is made easier from this angle. Anyhow, perfect spot which we would use again.

Weekend Trip to Rock Creek Wooded Campground

My friends and I had so much fun camping on Faye's land. We were a group of 6 people and 4 dogs and booked 2 sites. We were fortunate enough to be the only campers that weekend. The sites are unmarked and there wasnt a clear separation of the sites (e.g. treeline) so we were a bit confused where each of our sites were. But seeing as we were the only campers, we set up camp on what we all presumed was one of our sites. I imagine if there were other campers with us that it wouldn't be as private since the sites are pretty much open. There are trees spread out sporadically but not enough to cover your view to another site. Faye was kind enough to leave us firewood and there were enough fallen limbs and logs on the ground to forage for more when we needed. Now onto the BEST part: the creek. The creek was STUNNING and the stream was super lively. All of us (and our dogs) LOVED wading and swimming in the creek. The water was so clear and refreshing to the touch. AND we spotted an otter swimming in it!!! Such an awesome and unforgettable experience! I would book with Faye again for another camping trip with a large group, especially if we are the only ones there :).

My wife and I stayed in a 17 foot teardrop. The drive up ( and then down) the gravel road was a bit challenging but we made it with no problem. The site was primitive but beautiful (see pic). Our camper has a toilet and that was handy as I did not see any usable facilities.

The hosts were really sweet, checked in on me and shared all about their very cool campground-like property. I was solo car camping in the meadow and it was wonderful, bright stars and just the peace I needed. I didn't use the shower but so great that that's available. Would definitely stay again!

Elisabeth’s place is our home away from home in Nashville. We’re down here at least four times a year and we don’t even look at any other places anymore. Other places we’ve stayed have either been too noisy, too far, or too expensive, but Elisabeth’s place is just right. Power and water work perfectly and we love the privacy and peace and quiet on this small country road while still being very close to the center of Nashville. We don’t bring a tow vehicle with us and have never had a problem getting Ubers back-and-forth into town any time of the day or evening. We have stayed here several times now and we will be returning again in a few months.

Highly recommend! The property is very beautiful, and animals are so sweet and the family is friendly and are wonderful hosts! We look forward to visiting more often. We rode horses down through the creek and had a huge bonfire all night. We stayed in one of their other cabins they offered us onsite, it was very comfortable. There happen to be 5 kittens on property when we were there and they were so small and playful. This place is so close to the city, easy for a 1-3 night stay. Thank you Lisa and Gary! This is a tranquil, very private alternative to crowded, noisy park campgrounds. We stayed just one night in a tent on a cross country trip. The chickens and goats made us feel right at home and would be fun if you are traveling with young children. Communication with Robert was always prompt and accurate and we felt welcome and safe in this space.
