The lodges, domes and tents that we have are fully furnished with linens, towels and a fully stocked coffee bar. Our most praised amenity is our bath house. This features private full restrooms with individual sinks, showers and toilets. We strive to provide a family friendly campground. Therefore, our quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am. No loud music or disruptions to other guests, of any kind, are allowed. At any time during your stay, you need assistance, please reach out by phone call, text or email. If you're into gambling, Prairie Winds Casino is just a 20 minute drive. 42 miles to the south is Fort Robinson State Park where you can visit the museum and explore the old army post. This property is approx 2 acres in Hot Brook Canyon on the outskirts of Hot Springs South Dakota. (not 1 mile) It has space for tent camping, small RV's and campers or Car camping. It is primitive but has Hot Brook running thru it with a nice soaking hole. Camp fires are permitted after checking the local fire warnings. A nice walk to town and the Chatauqua park along with Evans Plunge. Currently there is a circulatory water system in a small block building where you can wash dishes, take a shower if the sun has warmed the tank and a composting toilet (do not put toilet paper in it!) which I will instruct and hopefully have instructions posted. This is a choose your place and make your own fire ring for a campfire and gather your own wood but remove the fire ring when you leave. The water in the stream is good for washing and cleaning but not potable. The Chautauqua park is very close and has a restroom. There may be a camp host available but not given, they will be around. This is a primitive camping area and there are several trails and a nice soaking place in the stream. Freedom is the rule of thumb alongside respectful nature to other guests and neighbors. Noise should be kept to a minimum. There is no trash removal so take out everything you bring in. This is a Libertarian property the Rule is RESPECT for the neighbors, your fellow campers, and of course nature. Be advised I keep several vehicles and my masonry equipment as well as my bio diesel system on the site.

Weekend Trip to Pine Haven Lodging

We were on site 10 and it’s leveled. We stayed here on their last weekend of the season. Pine Haven is near Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore. It’s on the outside of town but near pretty much everything. If we cross this way again, we definitely would come back here.

Hillview Lodge was a cozy dream home away from home. I wish I had time to stay more than one night, but I do plan on returning in the future. I didn’t use the shower, but the bathroom house in general was clean and just a minute walk away from Hillview. I used the firepit at night too, ate some s’mores that were provided + had coffee in the morning before departure from provided Keurig coffee station. Would definitely recommend to any camping fantasy loving nerd!

We loved staying at Bear Den! Tammy and Tim are the most welcoming hosts — we immediately felt like a part of their family! As our 5-year-old told us when they went back to their house after greeting us… “They’re so nice, I wish they didn’t have to go.” :) The cabin was cozy and perfect for our family of four. We were extra impressed by the cleanliness of the facilities, and amenities we didn’t expect. Our kids loved exploring the property, seeing the stars at night, and waking up to watch the deer right outside the cabin. The location was great, and pretty central for all the things we wanted to do. Our whole family hopes to visit again, and we will tell all our friends to make a trip to the Black Hills to stay with Tammy and Tim!

We had the most amazing time at Lil Bear! Tammy and Tim are so kind and made us feel so at home! Our cabin was stocked with little snacks, was so cozy, had heat, coffee machine and it was just the best! Would absolutely recommend for a weekend getaway!

We stayed in the Covered Wagon. It was super cute! Cheap and the camp hosts were great! The showers were clean and hot, and the Wagon was comfortable with plenty or space for two people. Would defiantly recommended! Make sure you bring sleeping pads or an air mattress, they isn’t one in the wagon.

Kurt is an amazing host in more ways than one. After I texted him saying we were set to arrive in our RV in the middle of the night, he gave detailed instructions on where to park. Not only that, but he congratulated us via text after he awoke on the good job of parking in the dark, since we had already left for the Buffalo Round up in our car. We reserved the site for two weeks but our son was with us and he was anxious to get home after being away for months hiking the Continental Divide Trail. We left after only five days and Kurt graciously agreed to refund us. He was so understanding and even spoke to my husband in person. The site is amazing because it is in the middle of the countryside with no other RVs. Accommodations were excellent...great wifi. We highly recommend this host/site and hope to return in the future.

Weekend Trip to The Pond in Custer, SD

Nora’s site is very secluded and beautiful. We were only there overnight so we couldn’t enjoy the firepit, but it is a great place to be. Close to town for the necessities, but isolated enough to allow you to enjoy the natural beauty. I’d recommend an SUV, truck, or something you’re comfortable with a fairly steep incline in for the trail in, but we had no trouble with our Ford Transit van. Enjoy this site!

We loved staying at the Bear Den cabins! Tammy gave us clear instructions to where/how to find it and was very communicative and friendly! 😊 The location is quiet and secluded, other than the sound of the neighbors clucking chickens (which I loved!), and the passing turkey and deer through the property. We had our two dogs, which I reached out in advance about having multiple dogs and she was very accommodating. We’d love to be back!

Nice campground with friendly staff and extremely clean and spacious bathrooms. Only problem was that Hipcamp doesn’t say that the campground charges per tent so we had to pay more when we got there. Thankfully had cash because the campground system doesn’t allow for changes to Hipcamp reservations. Seems like that needs to be figured out
