Weekend Trip to Custer RV Only Camp Spot

What a welcome stop this was. Beautiful, peaceful and private. This was our 6th stop on a 12 stop 3000+ mile road trip and one we have enjoyed the most. We started in the southwest where most of the campsites we had were on dirt or gravel. Kurt was super easy to communicate with, very responsive and he met us at the driveway to direct us to our spot. We would definitely pick this place again if we are in the area.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic! It is in a perfect location for exploring the surrounding area. The bathrooms were kept extremely clean. The property itself is so beautiful and peaceful. Everything exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend!

3 nights at Rustic Rendezvous

Lynn’s Rustic Rendezvous is a fantastic spot. She and her husband were very warm and welcoming, and their HipCamp site was exactly what we needed. Our boys had a lot of fun on the lawn, our trailer was level thanks to the concrete slab, and we were extremely comfortable. They even allowed us to plug into power, which made things easier for us as we were unlucky with the weather and not able to get much charge from our solar for our teardrop’s refrigerator. And I took a shower! A real luxury on a camping trip. The wildlife in the pictures is spot on! We saw more than a dozen turkeys, deer every morning, lots of birds, rabbits, etc. their location was terrific. So beautiful! Close to Custer State Park (and not far from the town of Custer), near to Mt. Rushmore, Jewel Cave National Monument, etc. my kids are hoping we will be able to come back next year. We would love that.

Beautiful spot, surrounded by nature, unbelievably quiet and peaceful. no service starting 30 min away from the site so make sure you have the gps coordinates!

Weekend Trip to Bear Den Cabins & Camp

We were so impressed with this property. Tammie is an amazing host, and thought of everything we could possibly need. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were SO CLEAN! We plan to be return campers here, it's an ideal location for visiting the Black Hills and Custer State park. So much to do and see in just a short drive.

Weekend Trip to Crow Peak’s Last Best Place

We stayed in site 3. If someone was in site 1, the campers would be close, but not any worse than a rv park. 3 opens up to the front of the property and a nice yard. Our dogs loved running around and it was incredibly peaceful. Everything worked great. We would absolutely stay here again.

Really fabulous spot central to everything in this area of South Dakota. Great amenities with covered patio, access to electricity and your washroom and toilet - luxury! Great view and we even had deer and turkeys wander through. Lynn and Rod are great hosts and gave us lots of advice on what to do around the area. We were so glad we booked to stay 3 nights so didn’t have to pack up each night.

Beautiful stop and conveniently located! Cousins used the property next to us and it worked out so nicely for us. Kurt was in touch whenever we needed him and stopped to chat often, which was fun for our group! Our well behaved dog was well received which helped us a lot!

5 nights at Redwater Revival Campground

We had a great time here, beautiful property bordered by a crystal clear stream. During the week we spent there, we were the only guests. Great views of the nearby buttes, lots to explore nearby. Herb was a great host, checking in on us occasionally to make sure we survived all the rain. He suggested some nearby sights to visit, and even put some extra gravel on the access road so we wouldn’t get stuck. The campsites are situated along a wide strip of land along the stream. Sites 1, 2, 3 are closer together, 4 is the most private. There is a porta-potty near the first 3 sites, and just a short walk from site 4. Birds and waterfowl are everywhere, and are your morning alarm clock. Geese, ducks, wild turkey, and deer may pass by for a visit. Beautiful area, beautiful property, gracious host. We plan on visiting again with our family, next time.

If this site does not win “hip camp of the year”, I will be shocked! If you ever need a place to stay to venture into Custer State Park or the Black Hills in South Dakota stay here! I can’t say enough about what a wonderful place this is. It is a quality site, clean, has everything you need, And the owners could not be friendlier. I’ve been to nearly 10 hip camp sites now and this is by far the best. It is a nice drive to and from the site.

1 night at Redwater Revival Campground

Beautiful site on a clear creek with deer and turkeys to watch at dusk and dawn. There is a clean porta-potty at the site and a nice picnic table by the creek. Very private and safe. Herb is very attentive and eager to make your stay as comfortable as possible. There was a storm the night I was there and he was very concerned about me. Planning to come back here next year!

Redwater Revival Campground

Book a peaceful and beautiful site on a private creek. The Redwater Revival Campground joined Hipcamp and was open during the 2020 summer season. Herb met and accommodated many wonderful guests and had a blast doing it. The red bluff in the background was a very strategic vantage point for early Indigenous Americans for hunting game that roamed the creek bottom. The rest of this exciting story will have to be heard when you get here. The Redwater Creek is full of Brown and Rainbow trout. They are sneaky little buggers that can actually hear your footsteps when you are fishing along the bank. Please make sure that you stay with us for some very restful mesmerizing sleep along our part of the creek at the Redwater Revival Campground.
