Weekend Trip to The River

We had a great experience and would recommend! Quiet and peaceful and the owners and other guests were very friendly. The washer and dryer was a great bonus!

Weekend Trip to Jake's Farm

This was a great place to camp. It is surrounded by farms. Campsite 4 was great because it was quiet and next to a river. If you take your dog make sure they are friendly. There are a few dogs that roam the property. They are nice but if you have an aggressive dog it may be an issue. There were a few other oddities, like someone pulled down into a field near our campsite and slept in their car. They were gone by morning but a little odd. Also, there seem to be others maybe living in various campers on the property. However it felt safe. Chris is super nice! Great guy from what I can tell.

Weekend Trip to Linville Adventure Pasture (LAP)

Christian is a welcoming host and his sites in the pasture are wonderful. We had two families at the snail and turtle sites. The zip line and tire swing were huge hits with the kids. We watched fireflies and swam in the river. The adults tried our hand at axe throwing. The portojohn was clean, and the dish station was so helpful. Went to Fonta Flora brewery for dinner one night. Recommend all around and hope to come back.

I was blown away by Georgianna's property! The mountains make for a stunning backdrop for adventure but that doesn't always translate to ease. Backroads, spotty service, and a new area you've yet to navigate - can all lead to a frustrated beginning of a trip. Not the case at Woods & Water! From the online directions and guidance, we were able to find the property with ease and then once you've turned off the main road it was immediately evident that this was not your everyday property. From clearly marked signage, easy to navigate routes to each camp site, and a finesse that truly sets this place apart. Georgianna has worked hard to provide a space that respects the beauty of its surroundings but elevates the experience for guests. The hard work is evident with ample clear space for each site that allows options for set up and layout to your comfort. Lighting that is placed strategically to aide in navigating the area after dark but not too bright to compete with the stunning display of fireflies and stars! So much care and thoughtfulness has been put into this property to afford guests the most incredible laid-back experience!

4 nights at The River

This campsite is Heaven! We booked for four nights but extended our stay because this place is so amazing. It’s very private, there are only two sites but we were the only guests. The owners and a couple of their relatives live here and they’re all super nice, helpful and very respectful of guests and their privacy. Our dog could run free and play with the other lovely fur babies who live here. It’s so peaceful! We never wanted to leave! There’s a beautiful silence, you just hear the river’s flowing as it’s a stone's throw away. There’s a fire pit and all the wood you might need. You can go tubing or canoeing and Michael gave us everything we needed to do that. I can't say enough good things about this place. It’s a gem and we want to come back for sure! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great experience in a quiet, beautiful property. A whole immersion in nature, with all the comforts of full hookup.

this is a great spot right near the creek wonderful host and neighbors. My dog and I loved our stay here and will probably come back again. Next time I would probably book a site number six rather than four because it’s a little more level and has a bit more room but overall, it was a wonderful experience and I absolutely loved it.

Beautiful camping spot in the Ashville area with a beautiful swimming brook, swim at your own risk of course. I will definitely be back.

4 nights at Outercamp, Blue Ridge Falls Retreat

I recently stayed at Geri’s Creekside Yurt, it was such a magical experience. The yurt was super private and secluded, with the creek just about 20 feet away. The walkway to the yurt was also really accessible, almost stroller-friendly, compared to other areas that had more steps. Inside, they provided both a fan and heating, making it comfortable no matter the weather. There were also plenty of board games, books, and other games for entertainment. They had so much thought into all of the essentials provided we almost felt we overpacked! The attention to detail was amazing. Everything was thoughtfully labeled, making it easy to find your way around. Even the outhouse, which I was initially worried about, turned out to be no issue at all. The interior design was also so warming and beautiful to enjoy, even the linens and towels were thoughtfully chosen. Overall, it’s clear that so much thought and care went into creating this peaceful space, highly recommend this beautiful retreat :)

What a sweet relaxing spot! Right outside our RV was a beautiful stream - I believe an offshoot of the French Broad River? Our pup went swimming several times a day as we sat on perfect large rocks sipping wine and throwing him sticks into the water! Plenty of shade with all the beautiful trees. We’ll be back in the fall to see the changing colors. There are several short term campers here that are super nice and helpful! The people are great and the camping was even better! Thank you to Tom - what a beautiful place you have! And thank you to Travis and Carol for being wonderful neighbors!

Great spot! Very secluded but still reasonably close to all Asheville sites! Beautiful views of the night sky. The outdoor kitchen area is amazing and I couldn’t recommend more highly! Hosts are nice very responsive! Would absolutely stay again!

Weekend Trip to Mountain View Acres

This site is at the bottom of a hill and was all grass, very nice to sleep on. It’s also VERY private. Nobody else next to you. It does have an electric fence for the cows but I parked my vehicle between the site and the fence and then we used our solar path lights to make sure we didn’t walk into it at night. It was worth it because my 2 and 5 year old were in love with all the animal visitors and it really made their stay. My little guy would drag his chair over and just sit and watch them. They love the ducks cat and chickens especially. This sit has a killer sunset view. And is surrounded by wildflowers. There is a wood stack! I brought my own but that was a blessing. And a very huge firepit. Luckily I have a little grill with legs to put in the fire for our meals. The bath house is large and was kept very clean, all fixtures working. At night, you could watch allll these fireflies lifting out of the grass around it and it felt magical. The host was not only communicative but very kind. I was worried about the electric fence as I didn’t realize I’d be so close and she offered to move us. But it was worth it like I said. Her son also ran a bell and fed the cows for my kids which they thought was fantastic. And they turned the fence off for some petting as well. The property is pretty and there was cell reception and we were 6 minutes from a gas ration so while it was set apart, you could restock on things if you needed them. I recommend Little Bradley Falls nearby

Weekend Trip to Serenity on the Saluda

Not just a beautiful spot on the river, but a great host as well. We are going again. A clean out house and beautiful spacious campsights to enjoy. Although remote, if you find you need anything, it's a short 10 minutes drive to a store/gas station. I recommend this campsite. A great river to enjoy.

Weekend Trip to Camp Moondog

We had an awesome stay! Fern Gully was a beautiful place to spend the night and it was only a minute or two walk from our car. The river was gorgeous and even better than I expected, and it was nice to be so close to downtown.

Weekend Trip to Serenity on the Saluda

My friend and I had an amazing time catching up and spending time connecting with Mother Earth. The river was amazing, and the owner gave us a great recommendation for a float down the river, we sat with our feet on the rocks looking at the beautiful nature and sunset and went back to drive off by the fire. The lot was flat, shaded and comfortable and over all the experience was awesome. Definitely hope to visit again!

Weekend Trip to Hidden Acres Mountain Camping

We had a great couple of nights at Woods & Water. It felt more like glamping because of the wonderful bath house, heated toilet seat, shower, electrical outlets, water station and readily available eggs from the chicken coup nearby. The host is very friendly and checked on us and chatted a couple of times, will return!

The cabin was cozy and perfectly nestled right on the river—just steps from the water. Loved listening to the sound of the current, watching the campfire flames, and waking up to birdsong. Great spot for a relaxing weekend, unplugging (literally), and enjoying nature. The various hosts and helpers were friendly and ready to assist. It's not fancy, but exactly what is needed at a great value. When you normally tent camp, carcamp/boondock, hike/backpack, it's all an upgrade!! This was my 3rd visit and will definitely be back! Only couple things to note, that some might want to know beforehand: there are 1 or 2 'resident RVs' other than the campground host in the campground and some (hunting?) dogs across the river/road that bark occasionally.

Nero Coffee's mission is to create connection between people through sharing great coffee and conversation outdoors. I started Nero Coffee in 2019 and purchased 6 acres near DuPont State Forest to share my land and create my own coffee campground to continue growing the mission. Update for 2024! Nero Coffee's Camping Spot has three ways to camp. Site 1: Glamping in my custom built (and way too adorable) mini A frame cabin. This cabin is tucked in the rhododendrons for complete privacy. Enjoy the super comfy bed and unique lifting side door to let the outdoors in :) or Site 2: Camping with room for up to 8 guests. There are multiple sites and so much room to spread out for groups up to 8 people. This year I am only opening tent camping for one group at a time so you can experience the mountains in the most peaceful setting. The upper camping area has plenty of flat areas for vans, cars, trucks and tents, and if you don't mind carrying our tent down the hill, the lower creekside camping area is THE PERFECT stargazing spot. There's plenty of room to set up any size tent down there, too. basically, You have the campground to make yourself totally at home. Site 3: Simple Car Camping Spot - Just want a spot to pull over camp for the night close toDuPont State Forest? We can make that happen. No tents allowed here, but it's a peaceful alternative to a cracker barrel parking lot. ----- Once you set up camp feel free to visit the Coffee Shed - It's a small shed on the property by the house that has everything you need to make a great cup of coffee. Coffee is always free. :) I have fire pits, tables an, if I am home, I have a super cute corgi that roams around the property throughout the day. If you spot me outside feel free to say hi or ask any questions about the area. I love helping guests find new places to explore. You will be about 8 minutes to DuPont State Forest (my favorite hiking and biking area) which has miles and miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails. The entrance to Pisgah National Forest is about 15 minutes away as well so it's a convenient drive to visit the forest and drive up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I also own a company that guides "coffee hikes" to local waterfalls in DuPont State forest. You can find more about that in the photo descriptions. :) Please note!! My road up to my driveway is steep and bumpy. It’s only 0.3 miles up but bumpy. You don't need four wheel drive but higher ground clearance is recommended. (I have had small cars make it up but it is a bit intimidating if you are not used to driving in the mountains). if you have a small car just go slow. :) ------- Larger group? Want an indoor bath and shower?? If you are planning a larger group camping retreat and want to book the entire campground (including the main house with indoor shower, restrooms, and full kitchen and spare bedroom) I can make that happen for $500 a night. It's honestly the perfect spot for private, group camping and glamping up to 15 people. Just send me your date request and I will share a link to book if your dates are available. It has a small labyrinth, fire pit, and picnic table. We do have neighbors nearby and the field is pretty open as landscaping is in progress. That being said, it is a quiet community! There is a lovely view of the surrounding hills and the night sky and summer fireflies are amazing! We are part of the Big Ivy Community and 13 miles north of Asheville. Hiking, biking, rafting, rafting, ziplining and more are all nearby. We are easily accessible to all things WNC including groceries, dining, gas and main roads. We do have 2 dogs that may roam from time to time though we will try to keep them away from the field during your stay. This property is situated on 50 acres, surrounded by private property with views of the nearby Pisgah National Forest and a 10 minute drive to DuPont State Forest. Campsites are adjacent to the French Broad River. Excellent fishing and boating. It is heavily populated by deer and other wildlife. For this reason, dogs must be kept on a leash. Please note that due to the campground being in low-lying land, the drive in is subject to being slick and muddy, 4WD is always recommended. Message us with any questions. Due to the property proximity to the river and situated in floodway, the sites are subject to flooding during heavy rain events. Voluntary and/or mandatory evacuation may be necessary during any reservation due to high waters or forecast for high water events. If evacuation is necessary, unused portions of reservation will be refunded. Campers are advised to be self-sufficient with water and shower facilities. We do provide a port a potty and firewood is for sale on site (Venmo, PayPal or cash). IF YOU ARE CAMPING WITH A RV OR TRAILER, PLEASE CONTACT US TO DISCUSS A SITE. All sites can accommodate smaller RV camper units. However, larger RV's have limited site availability. Campsites are situated along the river edge. Embankments are steep and near deep water. Although not prohibited, constant supervision for children is a must to avoid serious injury due to natural hazards. The view from your RV is acres worth of a working farmland surrounded by mountains. You might catch a farmer driving his tractor down the road, a person on horseback or a team of cyclist bike pass by. But you never know what surprise the sky has in store! Fortunately, we are a quarter of a mile from highway 64 that leads to everywhere, as in hiking, kayaking, mountain biking etc. We are centered between Pisgah and Dupont National Forests, Panthertown Valley, Bracken Mountain Preserve and Gorges State Park. Bigfoot Brook Campground

If you are looking for peace and tranquility in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this privately owned, primitive campground is a great place for your tent! Nestled in Medford Mountain at about 1200 ft., each creek-side slip has a magnificent view of the 1532 ft. mountaintop. Whether surrounded by spring blossoms or fall foliage, animal and leaf lovers often see turkeys at dawn and deer at dusk. Foxes and bobcats have also been spotted on occasion. It is important to note that bear and coyote roam freely on the adjacent mountaintop, although are rarely seen or heard. Proper wilderness precautions must always be taken while camping. Aside from the flora and fauna, one of the biggest attractions is the star-filled sky. On a clear night, it is imperative to take a break from your private campfire to appreciate the Milky Way. You may also enjoy the meteor showers in August and other celestial events. Not to be outdone, the day sky does not disappoint. If a pop-up shower passes through, a double rainbow is often left in its wake. In the surrounding area, there are many outdoor activities to enjoy during the day. In a half hour or less, you may go horseback riding, ziplining, kayaking, tubing, fishing, hiking, and climbing. Public access to Lake Lure is less than 15 mi. away, but access to a lakeside road with amazing views is only a couple of minutes away. In addition, there is a little-known waterfall about 8 minutes up the street. If spending the day on site, be sure to walk the trail on the opposite side of the creek and hike up the hill for a different view. In addition, badminton, volleyball, ladder ball, cornhole, Yardzee, croquet, bocce, frisbees, footballs, board games and books are available for free rental. Plus, children may enjoy gem mining in the creek (for an additional fee). Of course, everyone can play Slapsquatch on the grounds for free. *Last minute decision? No worries! Check out our equipment package for two. We also sell firewood and rent tents, hammocks and other equipment separately. Living in Boone, this dream was definitely out of reach. When we began our search for a new home in the Asheville area, we discovered that the more affordable homes were in fact on the mountains. Perfect! In general I always have a pretty positive outlook on what’s possible, however, I was skeptical that we would ever find our dream home. As Jeannie began her Zillow browsing adventures, one particular cabin with acreage, that was outside of our budget continued to pop up. Jeannie would delete it and then it would come back. At some point the price began to drop, and drop, and drop. On our way back into town one weekend after attending a wedding, I convinced Jeannie to drive by the cabin just because we had the time. Immediately we fell in love and reached out to our realtor buddy. It was more of a shot in the dark but it couldn’t hurt, right? We held our breath for the next month totally expecting someone to get it under contract before us or the sellers not accepting our offer. It had already been reduced significantly so we knew our chances of a lowball offer were slim. We offered the most that we could get a loan for. They accepted! I still get anxious thinking back to that month, October 2014. Many years and two children later, here we are, just as excited everyday to make the long trek up our mountain as we were that August of 2014, and now we are happy to offer a similar experience to you, without having to buy the place. Please use the map to stay on property. Green Haven is centrally located 20 minutes between Brevard and Hendersonville. DuPont State Forest is 25 minutes away and it includes hiking, mountain biking, and waterfalls. Boaters will find the French Broad River, Horseshoe Bend, river access less than 10 minutes. More mountain biking at Ride Kanuga and Ride Rock Creek downhill mountain bike park 15 minutes away. Nearby breweries include Mills River Brewery and Bold Rock Cidery 15 minutes away.
