Kimberley is an amazing host. Very friendly and accommodating. Bathroom facilities are top notch. Campsites were very limited, and I had no real privacy as I could see her house from the only site that was available. Also, there was road construction across the street that was active all day Saturday and Sunday morning starting very early. If you are looking for a quiet weekend in nature, this may not be the site you are looking for. If you are looking for a safe place to pitch a tent for a night or two, this one checks all the boxes.

Friendly hostess. Parking/camping in classic meadow in mountain valley with frequent road noise. Clear view of the sky and moon. Access to a nice, clean bathroom with towels and uncrowdedness was the key to paying the area's going price for the otherwise standard campgrounds with complete accommodations.

We had a wonderful stay on Kimberley’s property! It was perfect for a quick nights camping, with access to a bathroom in her house. Kimberley was very communicative and sweet. There was another couple staying in the Yurt but we were able to position our tent in a nice private spot on the other side of the land by some trees. The location is near a road but we didn’t hear a thing once asleep, also a great spot for stargazing. We highly recommended and would visit again! :)

We loved staying in Kimberley's yurt. The yurt is beautiful and very comfortable. Kimberley is a great host and made us feel right at home. We very much enjoyed having access to her house for the bathroom and kitchen. Her muffins each morning were a nice touch as well!

Superb! Kimberly was very welcoming. We enjoyed everything. Most yurts are boring or are okay. This Yurt we stayed was full of life and colors, very delightful! The bed was comfortable with quality linen and blankets. It was also soothing to enjoy the morning views while walking around the property. Kimberly's muffins in the morning are delicious!

Kimberley’s yurt was nothing short of fabulous. It was tucked away near the edge of the woods about 50 yards from her main house, very private. It’s decorated so well, with bright colors, the natural light is gorgeous. The bed is cozy! She has extra pillows and blankets in the dresser as well. Two space heaters kept us plenty warm! The shower and restroom are located in her home. Using someone else’s shower and bathroom (especially late at night) could be an awkward situation, but Kimberly made us feel so comfortable and welcomed, we truly felt at home. The coffee and homemade muffins were an amazing B&B-like touch! She also gave us an awesome apple orchard recommendation, Grandad’s Apples. We were able to grab plenty of goodies to take with us home. Also worth checking out is downtown Chimney Rock right down the road around Lake Lure. (10-15 mins). Thanks so much for everything Kimberley!

We tent camped under the full moon and stars. The fire ring was wonderful for the cool evening and we had fresh water as well. The view was beautiful and the sunrise was amazing! Kimberly was wonderful - the amenities included a restroom, hot shower and kitchen if needed. We would definitely go back and stay again.

I loved the design and layout of Kimberleys yurt! Every need was met, both heater & AC inside the yurt, bathroom very close by, and muffins in the morning if you want! Kimberley was very kind and welcoming the entire trip & I definitely recommend this yurt!

The host was very nice and helpful. Her property was beautiful and you have plenty of options of where to camp. Amenities include hot shower, and kitchen access. Activities 10-30 minute drive away, which I think is great.

Kimberley’s property is in a great location close to Lake Lure & a short drive to Chimney Rock. We enjoyed visiting those sites for the first time on this trip. The surroundings were nice and quiet with only occasional mild street noise. Kimberley was a wonderful host. There was great communication throughout. We tent camped and she allowed us to pick a site that was fairly private and somewhat removed from the other two sites. She was very generous to let us use her bathroom in the house when needed. As we were enjoying our evening campfire we were startled and intrigued by a SpaceX Starlink Satellite overhead (but had no clue what is was until we looked it up). There were also a few bats flying overhead for 5-10 min which may reside in the greenhouse at the far side of the property (or neighboring lot). They were not a bother. I awoke to some coyote calls in the early morning, but things like this are expected being outdoors in the mountains and part of the experience. Overall, we had a great trip and enjoyed staying on the property. I also highly recommend grabbing a bite at the Chimney Rock Smokehouse, which was delicious.

Tent camping on Kimberly's land was exactly what you could hope for.
Location: close to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock (easy to get there first thing and beat the crowds!)
Communication: Kimberly was so helpful - I booked same-day both days and she was easy to reach by phone. And very friendly and helpful in providing local grocery store directions.
Property itself / amenities: the land was so beautiful - with a mix of open field, trees/bushes - and very quiet! As a solo traveler, I felt super safe. We had access to her guest bathroom - for showers/toilet that came with towels, shampoo, etc. - and her kitchen with coffee and morning muffins :)
I'd 100% stay again and will stay when I return to Lake Lure!

Exotic Glamping-Yurt Style!!!
My daughter and I stayed in the yurt for an extended weekend and loved it. The yurt was decorated well, making it cozy and it was fixed with several "luxury" items that helped the glamping experience. The air & heat both work well as we had to use both during our stay! We fell in love with the surrounding areas of Lake Lure & Chimney Rock that are conveniently located to the yurt.

My spouse and I have been tent campers for years. After camping in the yurt I’m hooked. The design was cozy with lush linen and heat. The bed was large enough for our entire party. My daughter loved the majestic feel, especially the night light and lullaby music option. The fire pit was perfect for s’mores. The host makes the experience feel more like a bed and breakfast with access to the main house for bathroom/shower services, recommendations to local dining and scrumptious gluten free muffins with coffee per our request. Location is beautiful and suitable for a romantic outing for two or family game night. Made my birthday one I’ll never forget.

We had a great time staying in Kimberly’s yurt. It was so cozy, comfortable and was decorated so cute. She was a great host and had everything we needed. We read all the entry’s in the guest book our first night and kept seeing that the muffins were awesome. THEY WERE AMAZING! We had a lovely relaxing weekend

This was my first Hipcamp stay and I am so impressed. Kimberley was a most hospitable host. Her land is beautiful and quiet with plenty of space to spread out. The main house is neat and clean with a nice bathroom. There is a tub and basic bathroom essentials like shampoo, soap, and towels. We will definitely be returning.

Kimberley was an above and beyond amazing hostess! She woke up extra early just to make us a fresh cup of coffee and fresh muffins that were SO good! She made us feel like we were at “moms” and that’s a feeling you don’t just get anywhere, this is genuinely a special experience! The yurt was very clean and we especially loved the mosquito net on the canopy bed because you do get that “nature” aspect! The king bed was a plus since we had our 4 year old with us. We can’t wait to return and I’ve already told 10 friends about this gem! Thank you Kimberley!
