The Monguap River is close enough to be seen and heard from the cabin, but the adventure of getting there is half the fun! Our outhouse is designed and maintained by the women of the family, and great pride is taken in making it a favorable experience. We recommend having some prior camping expertise, and we must mention that there is no WiFi/ service. We have a few spots available for your friend circle to pitch a tent and enjoy the experience with you! A basic convenience store can be located three miles to the right of our property with all your basic needs (including gas). For your grocery shopping, a small family-owned market can be found within 10 minutes up the road. The River's Edge campsites sit on the shoreline of the Delaware River at the western edge of New York State overlooking the mountains of Pennsylvania. Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night. Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October (say 'hi' to Jim). In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be. The farmhouse and cabins are located opposite the campsites on other side of route 97. Next to them are 50 acres of wild forest to hike and explore. These accommodations are great for guests who want more amenities but still with easy access to river. Pair campsites and cabins so that all your guests have their best experience. Everything that we sell is grown or produced on-site with the intention of nurturing the soil and ecology of the land. From 1939-2020 our family ran a summer sleep-away camp for children on the farm, with an emphasis on caring for each other and the land. Located in a small valley at 1400 feet of elevation, our fields and woods are home to a broad diversity of native plants and animals. Our family has been caring for this land since 1926, but before European colonization it was home to the Lenape people from whom it was forcibly taken. Acknowledging this fact and working to expand awareness of Indigenous cultures and their rights is important to us. While at the farm, besides the amenities listed in each listing, you are welcome to hike or walk around and explore our farm which has many acres of woodland, creeks, springs, a pond, and open fields. A hot day is a great time for a walk along - or in - the creek. A rainy day brings out the Red Efts - beautiful orange newts that are all over the woods when you know where to look. We're always glad to point you in the right direction for a nice walk or a longer hike. You may be able to tag along collecting eggs from the hens or feeding some of the other animals we may have.

Lovely place for a peaceful retreat for a chilly November weekend, even with a 5 year old. Sandy and John were such kind and welcoming hosts. The red cabin is an updated church camp cabin, with electric radiators and a modern wood stove for heat, a pretty cool composting toilet (indoor), sink+shower, simple kitchen with induction stove, and 2 bedrooms with linens and towels. Our 5-year old loved the tree house, fairy house, labyrinth, meditation stations, boat and Pooh's house and library. And we got really good at shuffleboard! Would definitely recommend and would like to go back.

Weekend Trip to Camp Dietrich on Bear Creek

Our girls camping trip to Camp Dietrich this weekend was amazing. Scott met us upon arrival and gave us a full rundown of the campground! The checkpoint shed had everything we needed, wood was ready to buy, and the Coleman stove made cooking every meal so easy. The creek beside our campsite was absolutely magical, and yes, I even took a cold plunge. The tent was super spacious, comfy bunk beds, and the heater kept us warm all night. We hiked to the waterfalls on-site, which were unreal. Already counting down to bringing the kids this summer. Highly recommend, 10/10.

The Cabin with No Name exceeded every expectation we had. The awesome book selection, incredibly comfortable bed, the amazing shower, the vast land of trails behind it all paired with quirky/cozy decor are only a few of the warm takeways from this experience. Kat swiftly responded to us and answered all our questions promptly. We enjoyed it here so much we decided to extend our trip in the middle of it. 2 nights at Camp Dietrich on Bear Creek

My boyfriend, dog, and I stayed for two nights at “a creek runs through it” and had a wonderful time. Scott was incredibly friendly and helpful. If you forgot to pack something, there’s a good chance you can borrow it from the check point shed. The site itself was gorgeous and very private. You really can “be one with nature” here. I look forward to visiting again once it warms up, to fully take advantage of the creek and some swimming. Highly recommend this place. Thank you to the Dietrich’s for a wonderful experience!

We stayed at the Record Room Cabin this past weekend and absolutely loved it! The hot tub with warm water and hot tub made for such a unique experience — truly unforgettable. The sense of privacy and peace was perfect, and the vinyl record collection was just incredible. There's even a magnificent pool table under a canopy with a view of the forest – a truly stunning sight. I agree with all the comments above. This is truly an amazing place! I really hope to come back again!

I would recommend this place to all my friends! The cabin itself was perfect for a weekend getaway having all the essentials needed and some nice extras like the hot tub and sauna. The area was incredibly beautiful and close to a cute little town. Despite some travel issues, we were met with kindness and flexibility, which show how amazing they were at hosting! We also got some very good local recommendations :) we’ll definitely be back!

3 nights at The Record Room

My sweetheart and I had such an amazing time at The Record Room. We stayed for 3 nights and we wish we had one more! It was a cozy getaway that felt timeless. We loved setting the vibe with the records, dancing in the living room, and just enjoying some slow, peaceful days. It was cold when we went and one day was particularly rainy, but there is a lot to enjoy indoors and the fireplace kept us warm and cozy. One thing to note is that the wood provided is rather thin and burns fast. For this reason, heating the hot tub and keeping the indoor fireplace lit is a JOB! We had to add every 15 minutes or so. Our recommendation is to start early on the hot tub and bring some of your own logs as well - even better if they’re the big fire-starter ones. Overall it’s a special place. Masen and his family are great hosts and we hope to make it back again someday.

We loved our stay at Kat’s land in her cozy and quaint cottage. It has the perfect layout for sleeping, relaxing by the fireplace, making food (and roasting smores!) We couldn’t have picked a more perfect time to visit - the fall colors were on full display. I selected to have fresh eggs and two bundles of firewood which was very convenient. The beds were comfy, there were plenty of fresh towels and blankets for all. We loved how stocked the bookcase was with books and games for all ages! The best part of the cabin was getting to hike down to the small creek and trails. It was just perfect and the whole house is quite convenient to town. We enjoyed our stay!
