Our Garden & Galaxy Retreat in Portland, OR is a stunner. It is built with salvaged materials from nearby painted lady Victorian home that are the pillars at the entrance and the siding is from a nearby barn. The sliding door as you enter is a salvaged US Federal Building Door that glides on barn rails and it has the original mail slot in the door. The retreat is an indoor/outdoor experience as there are two walls that feature beveled shutters that open and the roof is a see through experience to watch the birds, wildlife and stars. The queen bed is super comfortable and there is a small desk filled with maps of nearby places to play. My home for the last 34 years; I have put care, love and abundance in creating a magical garden with surprises throughout. My desire to provide charm and delight has driven most of the details that also includes a pergola that has a swinging twin bed and chairs to gather and chat. There is gorgeous outdoor lighting for at night and hanging chandelier at night surrounded in the deep of summer with mature jasmine bushes that waft their sweet scent from May into September.

This camper is new and well-stocked. It has heating and AC. The bathroom is small, but is hooked up to the city sewage. Note the bed is an RV queen size. Wifi is free. The camper is located between St Johns and Kenton in charming North Portland. It is safely located in the backyard of the property, and is surrounded by tall fences and shrubbery, allowing for absolute privacy. Beautiful yard with outdoor dining area and hot tub access (hot tub available starting September 2025). We are located a half a block away from the historic Columbia Park, with a long walking path through mature Doug firs, sports fields, pickleball courts and a play area/splash pad in the summer. There are many wonderful restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops located nearby. The neighborhood is safe and we have free parking. We are pretty quiet here:)

Tucked Away Retreat evolved from empty acreage to an easy retreat from the city and an opportunity to share our love of the rural life. Located in the Chapman area of Scappoose, this area is rich in logging history; the Crown Zellerbach trail is an old logging road and now an 18 mile hiking/biking "story board" of the life and culture of both the Native American Indians that lived in the area and the evolution of logging. Just over the peak of the CZ trail (which is approximately 3 miles from our property) is an old mine, just one example of many hidden areas to explore. Our retreat is just 45 minutes from Portland, yet feels a world away. You can relax in the quiet or explore the trail, the small towns that dot Highway 30 or head to the river. If you continue West on Highway 30, you will pass through many small logging towns, the old Trojan Nuclear site and eventually land in Astoria on the coast.

Tucked Away Retreat is quiet and peaceful yet 45 minutes from Portland.
Located on 4 private acres, watch the deer wander through the property or the hawks float overhead. Bring your bikes and hit the Crown Zellerbach trail, or hike it instead. We are located approximately 0.8 mile from the trail. Visit Sauvie's Island, the largest inland island in the United States.
Paddle or kayak on Scappoose Bay, head up to the Trojan frisbee-golf course, or just relax. We are also an easy drive from Vernonia, the Nehalem River and Big Eddy Park.
The B side is on gravel on the upper drive and is shaded most of the day. This site is best suited for camper vans, truck campers or small trailers due to trees along the back curve of the driveway. Large trailers/RV's and motorhomes will fit but you may need to back in.
The B side is backed by our private, small shop. It is adjacent to our tiny house, with a privacy fence separating the two areas. The site has water, power and septic hook ups. There is also WiFi, although it can be spotty inside your trailer.
The property can accommodate one or two additional RV's in spots adjacent to both sites for multiple vehicle groups; contact us for more information if you are a larger group. Additional vehicles are an extra charge.
Please be aware that we are RV only, we have no outhouse, so we cannot accommodate tents or folks who want to sleep in their vehicle. We will consider an exception if you have a RV/trailer and kids who want to sleep in a tent. Please reach out to us prior to booking for this exception.
We do not allow "shower" tents.
Also please note that there is no cell service once you leave Highway 30; you have to have WiFi calling capabilities to use your cell phone.

Although pets are welcome, we expect them to be well-behaved around our two cats, our own big sweetie of a pup, Frejya, our two crazy goats Cupcake and Muffin, and our free-ranging chickens. Expect to hear some animal noises here on the farm.
Our property literally borders the scenic highway. Because we are so close, you can hear the sunset-view-seeking drivers, motorcycle riders, and yes, racers who come out this way for a spin on one of the most scenic highways in the world. Traffic quiets down after dark and mornings are quite 'chill'.

We have 2 camp sites and a vintage trailer available nestled in the trees across the open hay field where you can watch wildlife.
each site has access to the composting toilet, has their own picnic table, fire ring, access to water, and some extras like hay that can be used for under tents, kindling to help start your fire, a fire extinguisher, access to a propane fire ring during fire danger season, and a few yard games. we do have firewood available to purchase as well as farm fresh eggs and ice.
the camp sites are seasonal and most will be closed for the wet winter months. they will be open from June thru October, depending on the weather we may need to adjust the access to the sites.
you are welcome to walk around the field during your stay, pick some blackberries, apples or plums but please be aware and careful as we do have some poison oak on the property. I encourage you to stay on a path.

Great value. Ritchie has created a budget friendly peaceful oasis. Overall beautifully quite neighborhood (minus a couple of dogs barking on their morning walk and sound of pickle ball at the park which was pleasant enough ambiant noise)
Camper itself was adorably appointed and I appreciate Ritchie avoids harsh chemical cleaning agents making this a more synthetic chemical avoidant friendly location than I’m always readily able to find.
We had a relaxing time and grateful for the great location and ease of access and communication for a semi last min staycation

I loved the land and the layout of finding the tent. I went with my kids and myself, it essentially is perfect for having kids there and exploring with them. They have a awesome tree house with a cool zip line. (Hoping to try that out next time!) A trampoline, and my kids absolutely loved walking into the tent area to their tent and out from. Hoping to stay there again in the future! :)

Wow, Rick and Ellen were incredible hosts. Everything is exactly as described. We stayed in glamping yurt for two nights. They have provided everything you need (although a previous guest must have absconded with the corkscrew—luckily we had our own). The setting is very relaxing. Rick explained everything to us so well. Ellen gave us so many great tips on area highlights…on the Oregon side of the river as well as on the Washington side. We had a great time.

2 nights at Horse Lovers Paradise
We had such a wonderful stay here! Michelle was an incredible host — warm, gracious, and so generous. She made us feel completely comfortable and welcome.
The property is beautiful, with gorgeous horses, chickens, and such a peaceful setting. My daughters absolutely loved the horses, and the horseback rides were a highlight of our stay. Michelle made us feel so comfortable and made the experience really special.
The bunkhouse was wonderful and had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked, with a Keurig and quality coffee, half-and-half, honey, tea, sugar, and all the thoughtful little touches. Although it’s advertised as communal, we were the only ones using it during our stay, so it felt very private. The shower was also amazing — great water pressure and plenty of hot water!
We loved making s’mores around the campfire with our family. My husband and I kept looking at each other throughout our stay saying, “This is so great. We would absolutely come back here.” We were both so happy with our decision to choose this Hipcamp experience and kept talking about how glad we were that we picked this place.
Such a special experience for our family. We absolutely hope to come back!

This spot was a hidden gem! Beautifully charming in so many aspects. The yurt was such a cool experience, great for viewing stars, beautiful transformation during night where we were able to see the moon through the windows. Had such a magical night with friends. Highly reccomend this spot if you enjoy good views, fun experiences, and all of it being less than 1.5 hours from Portland!

We had a great stay at the Stargazer! The directions were easy to follow, and it wasn’t hard to get to at all, even with a 2WD vehicle. The views were really nice, and it was awesome that they provided a power bank and cooking supplies, which made the experience even more fun and convenient. They even have a huge drinking water jug/fan inside, and being able to look up at the stars at night was definitely one of our favorite parts.
It can get pretty warm inside during the day and really cold at night, so definitely bring extra blankets and warm clothes. Overall, we had a really fun and relaxing experience and would definitely recommend staying here!

This is the absolute perfect getaway for all ages. Not only is the property absolutely breathtaking, all the beautiful horses, chickens, roosters, goats and sheep that you are surrounded by and get a chance to meet, spoil and learn about was truly the highlight. It’s the absolutely perfect for the ranch style life with some additional comforts. We had no problems locating the property with the directions provided. This will definitely not be our last visit!

Spent 2 days out here at Dionne's property for my birthday and it was lovely! Very spacious land and room between sites. Luckily for us, I booked all of them so we didn't have any neighbors to contend with but I'd presume if you did, they would be far enough away to not be bothersome. If I were booking again, I'd probably desire to camp at the dome again as it's spacious and got a great camp hang out area but the witches cabin is nice too as those two structures seem newer but the stargazer and sunseeker are great too and allow dogs. You can't go wrong really and it's a perfect spot positioned just far enough away from Portland to feel remote but close enouogh to be able to get back into town easily

Weekend Trip to N Foss Camper
Ritchie was a great host! He made sure I had all the info I needed to comfortable in the camper, since I was getting in late at night and he wouldn't be able to show me in person. His home is in a nice neighborhood, next to a huge, beautiful park! I came without a car and had no problem accessing public transit from this location.
The camper itself was exactly what I needed: a comfortable, private place to sleep while I was in the city. The bed was comfy, and the shower was a godsend after a day of hiking and exploring the city. I definitely plan to stay here again, and I would recommend this to other solo travelers or a couple who doesn't mind being cozy.

Amazing atmosphere and lovely people:) the best thing to end the night after a long drive too. Beautiful place with wildlife, a gorgeous sunset, and a lovely market in town. (You’ve gotta try their smoked chicken legs)

The yurt is really peaceful and up in the mountains . Its really quiet and loved hearing the crickets and owls in the middle of the night. Response time from the host was quick. I would defenatly come back in the winter to see the snow fall!
