Stayed here 4 nights while visiting my grown daughter. I’m 60 and felt like a happy youngster in this adorable, comfortable, well-equipped airstream in a safe and walkable neighborhood. Comfy bed, great sauna, plentiful linens, blankets, lighting, plus fans and heaters. I spent mornings reading on the private patio. The cedar outdoor shower has lots of space and plenty of hot water. The compost outhouse was clean and just a few steps outside. I walked to nearby Irving Park and to great restaurants and coffee shops plus the nearby Sunday farmers market. I would absolutely stay here again and again!

I've always had great experiences with Hipcamp, but I would absolutely not recommend this spot. This was my second time staying at ARTCAN and I would not come back. While the space is beautiful, it is mitigated by the fact that it is not private as advertised. The listing stated that it was "minimally shared" with only the upper porch/deck being used by the house tenants. We frequently had various people using the outdoor shower to wash their hands, then they would ask us who we were as if we weren't supposed to be there. One night we were using the sauna around midnight- three people emerged from the back of the house and were about 10 feet away staring into the sauna, where we were sitting naked. It was off-putting and left us feeling really uncomfortable.
Additionally, since last year the host has added a myriad of cleaning directions, making this more akin to a stay at an AirBNB. If it's clearly communicated- I really don't mind helping out. The only communication in the welcome message was to "peruse the welcome booklet" which is 15 pages long. If you want guests to clean for you, don't hide in in a wall of text.

We loved this place. Everything about it was welcoming and comfortable, and very adorable. Our favorite part was the shower and sauna! It was awesome to have the space outside to relax in the morning, drink coffee, and listen to jazz in the airstream. I am looking forward to coming back again.

I absolutely loved this place. Great location to explore all of Portland and the Gorge.
The attention to detail was incredible. Comfortable bed and fantastic Sauna.

Absolutely fantastic camper in a great location in Portland. Gino did a wonderful job in organizing and appointing the ART CAN, and their vinyl selection was superb. 10/10 would recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Art Can as well as Portland overall! Ginos place is in a great part of town with convenience to tons of amazing food (LOTS of vegetarian choices nearby!), activities, and shopping. The camper had everything we needed for a very comfortable long weekend. The hot outdoor(ish) shower was my absolute favorite part of winding down in the evenings. 10/10- would stay again!

This fun and funky place is perfect! It’s roomy and comfortable and the host really pays attention to the details. The facilities are great and the outdoor space is a perfect little private place to relax. We have definitely found our place to stay when we come to Portland. Thank you Gino!

The Art Can was the cutest Airstream. Every detail is well thought out and gives you the vibes of what Air BnB is supposed to be like and what it was like when it first started.
The Art Can has so many adorable details and you can feel all the love that was put into the Airstream, the sauna, the shower and the restroom facility.
The Sauna worked flawlessly, its get hot! It’s under a beautiful tree and a water bucket to pour over the coals is provided as are a few other cute things to pass your time comfortably like Turkish towels.
The outdoor shower is very large and beautiful with stained glass and its own mirror and sink.
The outdoor toilet is a compost toilet and very clean. You’ll get the hang of it!
The seating are and garden is just lovely. My wife took two naps out the outdoor couch, it was amazing.
Location is great, you can see the art can from the road. Parking was easy on street.
Gino is soooooo sweet! Could not have a better host or place to stay in Portland ❤️

We loved staying at Gino's place. She was an extremely accommodating host and we felt more than welcome at the Art Can. Everything was amazing, super clean and the Sauna was the perfect way to wind down at night. The location is perfect for exploring and walking around Portland without feeling like staying in a busy city. Would highly recommend!

We loved staying in Gino's Airstream! The attention to detail and vibe perfect. The sauna and ceder enclosed shower made this space even more special.
Also, Alberta Street is just a short walk away and has so many great restaurants and local shops.

The art can experience was great. Everything was as advertised. Really convenient location for walking to parks and grocery store. Finding street parking at Gino’s wasn’t a problem.
The airstream worked well for the two of us.

We had such an amazing stay at the ART CAN! It was beautiful and retro and kitschy and cozy. We found like 8 different spots to curl up with a book. The outdoor shower was literally my best-ever shower experience.
I would love to come back with my partner but would also absolutely book a solo week for rest and creativity. There are loads of walkable restaurants, shop, hip little streets - everything. I had never stayed on the east side of Portland before, but this visit had me Redfin-ing the neighborhoods and dreaming of living there.

I loved my stay at the ART CAN! I only have positive things to say :)
The yard/land is beautiful. The composting toilet was tidy and the shower was perfect - nice and hot. Plus the sauna was amazing and was a great way to wind down in the evenings. Wifi worked really well too. The airstream was complete with thoughtful details ~ a choice selection of records to play on the turntable and cute decor. It’s also located in a sweet are of town, close to fun bars, restaurants, and shops. Check in and check out instructions were clear and easy to follow. I’m already looking forward to coming back. Show out to Gino for being a wonderful host!

The best place we have ever stayed!
A cozy environment with beautiful colors, art, and greenery. Each morning I awoke happy and refreshed, ready to enjoy the sauna and array of music on the record player. The shower is delightful and gives a beautiful view of a Cedar through its window.
Walking/biking distance to many restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. The Air Stream is perfect for lounging the day as way too!

We LOVE the Art Can! So cozy, so comfortable, so cute! Gino’s spot is a real treasure. As long as we don’t have to bring our dog, there’s no where we’d rather stay in Portland.

The convenient proximity to Moda Center and NE Portland venues was just what we needed. We so much enjoyed coffee, reading, and talking in the comfort and seclusion (in contrast to a hotel) of the outdoor space as well as inside the Art Can. Fabulous bright, uplifting original decor! The shower was my favorite: providing the clean comfort of an indoor shower but with the feel of open, roomy showering outdoors! The well-kept sauna was a big bonus for my maxed out nervous system. Thank you for sharing your comfy, conscientious, well-built space, Gino! 💫

My stay at the ArtCAN was a dream. It feels like an oasis in the heart of the city. Easily accessible restaurants, stores, etc. and lots to do in the area. Very safe neighborhood from what I gathered, and lots of friendly people. Gino was a great host, would definitely return.

ARTCAN was an absolutely dream! Every last detail was thoughtful, intentional and functional. We loved our stay, felt super safe and it had such a unique and fun vibe. The outdoor and indoor spaces were so nice to have before a day out and upon coming “home”. The neighbor hood was also ideal- walking distance to so so many shops and amazing eats!
