North Fork River swimming 10 minutes away. Golf course across Westoak Rd. Sit on the porch and enjoy the solitude only minutes from Oakridge. Grocery store, etc... all available in Oakridge. Beautiful, safe and secluded. Elk, deer, and other forest critters live here too.

'Royal Heart Hill' is at the very end of a Dead-End road, which means no sound or light pollution from passing cars or nearby residences. Surrounded by BLM and Timber properties, while being 6 miles from downtown CG (7 miles from the I5) and 30 miles from downtown Eugene.
All guests have access to the outdoor shower, which is connected to the Dome. Please use biodegradable soap in the shower! Potable water spigots are located by the carport and at the top of the steps leading down to our platform site. Each site has its own composting toilet, fire-pit, electrical outlet and hammock.
Nearby access to: two lakes for swimming and fishing, waterfalls and cliff-jumping, hiking and biking trails, dining, wineries, breweries, shopping and more. I am happy to offer suggestions and share what I know- please ask!
UPDATE: The timber acreage that borders our property- to the west and north of Overholser Road- was harvested winter 2024.
The property consists of Oak savanna, mixed conifer woodland, camas meadow, undulating hills and a SMALL pond (home to many rough-skinned newts- no swimming or fishing). At our domestead we practice permaculture, native habitat restoration and regenerative forestry.
Poison oak is present on the property! I have done my best to clear it from camping areas and trails. Tecnu is provided in the outdoor shower.
There is a mile long loop that goes around the whole property, which we keep mowed and accessible. Hipcampers are encouraged to use the loop to explore the property. To access- walk south/downhill toward the pond signs and follow the mowed path through the meadow and back up toward the road, which will take you back to your campsite. I have included a screenshot of the loop as recorded by my Strava app, which is in the property photos.
The property hosts a geodesic play-dome and slack-line (during the dry months) up by the green dome/outdoor shower. Guests may play on these at their own risk- the closest hospital is 7 miles away.

"Enchanting, magical, uplifting" -- those are words used recently by our guests, describing this wonderful space. Twelve sides, windows all around, surrounded by nature, yet close to town.

Picture a cabin made of cedar and glass. It has wi-fi, heated or cooled to your comfort, a super-comfortable queen-sized bed with memory foam, a chair for reading, a fold-out desk, and a table and a coffee pot. All the bare essentials, in one place.
(Not in all the the photos — we've added lush, room-darkening curtains all around for privacy and to aid those who prefer sleeping later.)
It's situated to be rustic and inspirational, nestled into the back corner of a deep lot. There are fruit trees all around and a seasonal pond that attracts ducks in the spring and early summer. Depending on the season, you can listen to birds and frogs from inside the roundhouse, or cross the footbridge to the south-facing deck behind the workshop -- another private space for your "get away from the bustle" contemplations. Or enjoy the firepit.
Follow the wending path to the front fence and everything is nearby.
The bathroom (with tub and shower) is at the rear of the main house, right near the back door (about 30 yards from the roundhouse). It's private and only barely shared. (We have another bath-and-a-half elsewhere in the house.) We have a clever curtaining and folding wall system that can give you extra privacy if you want it. You'll be left as alone as you choose to be during your visit.
With a little bit of planning, we're happy to share our full kitchen with you during daylight hours. Same with the laundry room.
We're sharing our home with you, so we ask you to be respectful of that. We love to brag about Eugene and Oregon, and we're happy to share what we have and what we know.
We cannot guarantee that your visit with us will be enchanted and uplifting, but that's what we hope it will be. We'll do what we can to make it so.
Our listings include a 9.5% room tax assessed by the city of Eugene. Those added funds are used to promote tourism and other good things around Lane County.
Guest access
Late arrivals are easy to facilitate. The house is easy to find, even in the dark. The street is well lit and we have path lights to guide you to the roundhouse. Since it's a completely separate building, there's no need to worry about waking anyone. "We'll leave the light on for you," as they say.
What will you need? Fridge, microwave, coffee pot, toaster oven -- all yours. Laundry, full kitchen, yard, neighborhood -- shared. (Just ask.) We have gorgeous red velvet theatre curtains and a clever folding glass wall to divide spaces, but the intent is to remain permeable for hospitality's sake.
Other things to note
MISCELLANEOUS NOTES:
#1. After over eight years on airbnb, this space is often "taken" for most times. If you'd like to try a similarly inventive space, on the same property, employing much of the same geometry (but larger and self-contained), check out our aloft apartment.
#2. Before you confirm your reservation, please double-check certain details. Have you inputted the correct dates and are you reserving for the correct number of (human) guests? This is important because those details may alter the price you're being quoted. (We give solo travelers the lowest possible rate. All others pay a bit more.)
#3. Our check-in time is usually (anytime after) 3 pm. Occasionally, we can accommodate early arrivals, or luggage drop-off before the space is cleaned. We always appreciate knowing roughly when you expect to arrive. That helps us prepare.
#4. We send all our guests an email with detailed instructions and up-to-the-minute details for their visit. Please include your best email address when you make your reservation.
#5. We have a (slight) presence on social media, so if you feel the urge to take pictures and share it with your friends, we'd love it if you'd tag us at "oreroundhouse" and "dksez"....
#6 We welcome dogs and other pets, but we ask for a couple of things. First, do let us know when you're bringing critters with you. Second, please don't let them roam our yard unleashed. The fence has holes. Third, leaving pets unattended for long stretches inside hasn't worked very well. Gnawed furniture, yelping, too much hair on the bedspread -- that sort of thing. We have two dog parks within walking distance, so there will be opportunities for them to enjoy themselves too!

THE SPACE The 20' Pheasant Creek Yurt is completely yours during your stay. Bathroom area in the main house may be shared.
For the yurt, there is a queen futon for sitting or sleeping, a double futon bunk/couch with a twin above, dining table with chairs, sink and counter space with toaster/convection oven, mini-fridge, dishes and cutlery, coffee pot, rocking chair, wood stove, and other amenities.
Your stay will also include space for 2 cars, access to the charcoal grill, deck seating, and access to pasture, creek, and forest to wander.
We are located 15 miles from King Estate and other local wineries, 15 miles from the Covered Bridge Scenic Bikeway, 45 miles from Eugene, and 2 hours from the coast, the mountains, and Portland. While the location is quiet and secluded, we are still an easy 5 minutes to I-5.
Yurt door is usually left unlocked, and we have not had any security issues. Upon request, we can provide guests with a key during their stay.
Unfortunately these accommodations are not ADA-accessible at this time.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE People from all backgrounds are welcome, but hate has no home here. Please respect our neighbors - we tend to wave to each other while in the neighborhood.
Other residents at this property include: 4 dogs (Duffy and Hamish, Leia and Suleyman), a flock of Romney sheep, 12 hens, 1 donkey (Gracie), 2 potbelly pigs (Hamlet and Pig), 3 cats (Apollo, Minerva, Zelda, and Opal), and multiple geese. Farm access is available upon instruction (proper gate security is a must!)
Unfortunately pets are not allowed at this time because of the animals.
If you are a fiber artist--spinner, knitter, weaver, you may be interested in our fiber business Loose Ends Fiberworks, which is located onsite. We have lots of raw fleece, carded wool bats, and more.

Our place is quiet and on a dead-end road. Our farm is just less than 5 acres where we have a 1/2 acre of blueberries, free range chickens, and do firewood. We are just minutes off of I-5. A short drive to rivers, lakes, and hiking trails. 5 wineries within minutes. The small town of Cottage Grove won the Best All American City twice. Creswell is one of the fastest growing towns in Oregon. We are 4 miles just outside of both towns. Eugene and UofO is an easy 25-minute drive.
The accommodations is a remodeled park model RV the Executive Dream, with a large covered porch. Sunsets here are awesome. The RV has many amenities. It has a new futon (very comfortable), and a new bed (very comfortable). There is lots of parking and easy to get turned around. For the kids we have a foosball table and plenty of room for them to run around. The property is fenced and gated. We made a few upgrades; a new Berky water filter, the orbi tri-band mesh router (very high speeds) and a solar backup generator. Enjoy!

The Porchia Holistic Eco-Farm and Wildlife Sanctuary is a 46-acre working farm with five distinct ecosystems including flat pastureland for regenerative ranching of rotating livestock and farm animals, ancient heritage oak savanna and old apple orchard, riparian-woodland for wildlife habitat and expansive wetland prairie with beavers.
Holistic Health & Wellness. Since 2001, Dianne Porchia, featured in HEAL Documentary (Amazon Prime Video, Gaia), has a private practice in holistic health, wellness and stress reduction. She is featured in HEAL Documentary alongside notable names in science, medicine and spirituality for her successful work with one of her advance stage cancer clients who remains cancer free following a stage IV colorectal cancer diagnosis in 2013.
Mission Statement: Alarmed by the great many young people that seek out her services who are diagnosed with auto-immune disorders or advance stage cancers, as well as concern around a sick food system that has been fueling a sick care system in the USA, and advancements in laboratory-grown foods, robotics and AI technology, Porchia was inspired to found the Porchia Holistic Eco-Farm & Wildlife Sanctuary, LLC, as a legacy on their family farm for a place for the practice, study and education of regenerative farming, ecosystem conservation and health and wellness through Nature, working with the land and living in right relationship to Mother Earth.
Regenerative agriculture is a food production system that is free from pesticides, chemical fertilizers, antibiotics, growth hormones and other land-livestock additives and uses multi-animal species and crop-diversity to naturally build a healthy soil microbiome, resulting in nutrient dense crops and animal food production. This was our second time being at Ruby‘s Cabin. We really enjoy the entire space. The cabin is clean and cozy and each detail from the inside to the outside spaces clearly have the special touch of the owners written all over them. I personally like watching the kids and the dog run free and cooking up smores down by the pavilion. I cant wait to return! Thank you for being such lovely hosts.

What a welcoming little spot! From the covered structure keeping the entire camp site dry in the rain, the total privacy, the kitchen area water spout and the illuminated camp site - the place was PERFECT! My husband is 6’4” and could stand up in the tent (the tent even has built-in lighting). Super easy to find.
We had a dog who also loved it (there’s a leash, dog bags & even a secure spot to secure your pup if needed). Great stove set up and kitchen area (we made salmon for dinner & lemon ricotta pancakes in the morning). Lots a nice welcoming touches including walking sticks and homemade coasters as gifts. Would 100% come back for another stay at this site!

We loved our little cabin!! Staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful. We felt welcome and at home instantly. Bathrooms were clean and heated! We appreciated the dishwashing station too.
The guest binder in the cabin offered great info on the different trails as well as access info on each of the waterfalls in the area. It made exploring the area easy and fun!

We were fortunate to be warmly welcomed by Julie and Clay!! Amazing property with everything you need to enjoy outside and stay comfortable inside! We enjoyed using the very much cared for outside sink & personal outside bathroom. Everything is well lit! Our child loved all the children's books, space to ride his bike, toys, horseshoes game, & loft! The cabin was well kept, clean, functional and very well thought out (bottled water, coffee, paper towels, etc). No harsh cleaner smell- bonus! Gentle essential oil smell- loved it! They have soft sleeping pads available and bring your own bedding-- perfect set up! THANK YOU JULIE AND CLAY! We'd love to come back!!

Sweet little space to camp for a few nights. I especially appreciated the roof and all the string lights as it rained both nights 😅 Also enjoyed the hammock and the deck. Close to the road but traffic is extremely minimal (like three cars all night).

Enjoyed camping here for two nights despite a pretty constant rain 😅 Really appreciated the roof, the deck, the hammock and all of the string lights. Felt very secluded. Close to the road, but there seemed to be only about three cars going by per day.

Richard was communicative and helpful, and the space he and his father have created is just perfect. The land was spectacular, the amenities were exactly what we needed, and the campsite felt cozy and spacious at the same time. Jean and his sweet dogs were so incredibly kind and welcoming. He invited our entire family (including the group's 6 kids) to explore the garden and property and gave us helpful local hints. We feel so lucky to have found this spot and will definitely be back.

The Big Maple Campsite Site at Shelter at Castle Rock Farm was a wonderful camping experience. Richard‘s property is quiet, peaceful, and removed enough that you feel like you‘re staying in your own slice of paradise. Between the comfortable tent set up, hammocks, and surrounding meadows, there are plenty of places to relax.
The site leaves you immersed in nature with abundant wildlife, and is also just a quick drive from any convenience/staples you might need (as well as some great hiking trails).
The outdoor camp kitchen makes cooking and clean up simple.
Richard was friendly, informative, and made sure we had what we needed. He was even kind enough to share some fresh produce from his garden. Daisy, his pup, was friendly as well:) He has thought of many of the extras you might need, leaving really just the essentials to pack.
We will definitely be back to enjoy this space again!

Ruby's Cabin was the perfect place for our annual "Family Camp" We had attendees ranging in age from 92-2 yrs old. It was the perfect place for everyone to visit, play games and have space to move around. The site was perfectly setup with all the amenities one would need to camp. Lots of games, propane, fire pit and anything and everything one would need at the community kitchen. Jay & Tamara were the best hosts ever!!
