This 320 acre plot of land on which you can hike anywhere has been in our family since 1993.
Large, graveled spot for tents or two vehicles with excellent view for miles and miles and night star gazing. Primitive outhouse. Juniper forest with sage brush... basically high desert vegetation. We only allow one reservation per night. You can arrange vehicles or tents to not be in view or block any view from house way above. 320 acres to hike and roam. Mitchell is 10 miles away with well stocked grocery and feed store, restaurants, small brewery, and tire shop. We give directions fairly quickly. Road is wide, but steep at top. 4 wheel drive is recommended. Very close to the Painted Hills Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds National monument, Ochoco National Forest is seven miles. John Day River for swimming, rafting about 20 minutes. If you can book, it means you can drive on up with out contacting us. As you drive in if at night, you will see a light on the outhouse.

The property is situated on a quiet corner, and is best suited for dry campers who want a more private experience as there is no host on site and you do not share the space with other campers. We have a Yurt, a cabin, 3 RV/Travel trailer pads and 2 tent sites created here and plenty of room for everyone to have their own space yet be all together. You can book the entire campground, or just one of the units. Whether it's just you, or you're bringing a crew, we know you'll love it here!
Our favorite hikes in the Central Oregon area is Smith Rocks and Chimney Rock. The Prineville reservoir is roughly a 12 minute drive and the starry nights here are something to behold.
Up the road is the most unique petting zoo that we recently found! Find it and you might just be able to hold a baby kangaroo!
Boondocking site means there is no hook-ups or running water so you'll want to bring in your own water and heat if you're here in the colder months.
Your four legged furry family members are welcomed! They must be accompanied at all times and not left on the property alone. The dog run is for you to keep closer tabs on them while relaxing, not for leaving them while going into town or enjoying the area. The dirt is very soft and it wouldn't take very long for them to dig under to get out and go looking for you. The cabin or yurt is also not a pet storage area - with no power or AC, pets are not allowed to be left alone in the dwellings.

Camping is situated on 10 acres and just 10 minutes from the Crooked River, Prineville Reservoir and Millican Valley OHV Trail System . We don't offer horseback riding, but for those interested, horsemanship experiences are available. Or bring your own horse! We have pens available.
Access is via paved highway to the ranch, with dirt roads on the property. Most campsites are accessible w/out 4WD in good conditions; high clearance is helpful and 4WD may be necessary seasonally, and depending on the site you choose. The town of Prineville is 20 miles away for supplies, with destinations like Prineville Reservoir, Walton Lake, and the Painted Hills all within easy reach. Please note: terrain can be uneven and steep; leveling blocks recommended for vehicles. Wood fires allowed only when seasonal restrictions permit and must be fully extinguished nightly; propane fire pits allowed when local fire restrictions permit. ATT works on the ranch, but Verizon is spotty.

Brandie and Larry have created a wonderful space. Besides the places to camp, there are plenty of places to gather in small groups and lots of spaces to sit quietly. There's a wonderful small "dark sky library" with coffee and a communal refrigerator. There are great toilets and showers. And Brandie was incredibly accommodating and was a great and responsive communicator. It's just an amazing spot.

We absolutely loved our stay here! It was so comfortable and clean, and we met many wonderful people along our trip. The amenities within the cabins were awesome, and the library was incredible (telescopes, games and books to borrow, and just so many thoughtful details!). We were working on some astrophotography, and this was an awesome place to practice. All four of us, including two older adults, were very comfortable and agreed we liked this spot even more than some of the airbnbs we stayed at on our trip. Will definitely recommend to others and return ourselves. Thank you for doing what you are doing!

The camp spot was spacious. The sundeck and out house were comfortable and clean.
The sunrises and sunsets were stunning.
We were able to accommodate our 23’ travel trailer and 35’ fifth wheel trailer with plenty of space.
The wild flowers were pretty.
The host does have solar power which allowed us to charge phones and make a pot of coffee. Be prepared to be fully self-contained if camping for more than a few days.
If you want stunning views and complete silence, this is your place.

What a beautiful site!! We opted to use the tent D provided and it was so big and roomy. Two full size air mattresses and I could stand up in the tent. It was set up and ready to go when we arrived! It made everything so much easier. The site itself is big and private. D was a perfect host. She was quick to respond to any questions or requests. We saw lots of hummingbirds, baby quails and dear. We could hear the coyotes “talking” at night, which was amazing! The covered patio and enclosed bathroom was perfect for us. I would highly recommend this site for anyone who wants privacy plus a beautiful view.
