RV camping near Bend

·

With year-round sunshine and easy access to some of Oregon's most popular outdoor recreation sites, Bend is a great spot for an RV getaway. Summers are popular for hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, and whitewater rafting, while winters bring fans of snowsports to the area to snowboard and ski the slopes of Mount Bachelor. Although Bend is Central Oregon's largest city, you won't need to venture far to find RV parks, RV campsites, and solitude in the great outdoors. The Deschutes River is one of the biggest attractions in the area, offering ample opportunities for swimming, boating, and paddling. You'll also find plenty of private parks with electric and full hookup sites, including Cove Palisades State Park, Tumalo State Park, and LaPine State Park. If you want to get a bit deeper into the woods, head to the nearby Ochoco National Forest to the east of Bend or into the massive Willamette National Forest west of town.

Our house is located in Wood River Village. It is the beginning of where the Deschutes River bends as it comes into the town of Bend. One can quickly and easily walk to the river trail from our house. By going up river, one gets the sense of being remote and in the forest along a well maintained trail that makes a 3 miles loop with many rapids visible from the trail. By walking down river, one can quickly access Hayden Homes Amphitheater, Old Mill shopping and Downtown on a paved walking path. Check out the Hayden Homes Amphitheater websites for their concert series this year. https://www.eventticketscenter.com/hayden-homes-amphitheater-bend-tickets/525456/e?gclid=Cj0KCQjw06OTBhC_ARIsAAU1yOUS7UvoFf-WWpnWbHjLjiXzVu0zkNnzLjvGaFg_Oh2eCBJhXHjRfIEaAvU7EALw_wcB Learn more about this land: Campers will be camping in our backyard, surrounded by old growth Ponderosa pines. Campsite is on a second driveway to the front of the house on a wooded, half-acre lot in a quiet neighborhood in Southwest Bend. House lots are big and the area provides nice cool morning walks. There is a curb at the start of the driveway but aids will be provided if necessary. Electrical (110x2; 50A with converter to 30A), water, and sewer hookups are available! The sewer hookup may not work if your drain is underneath your vehicle and low to the ground. There is a fenced in yard that may be used if your dog(s) get along with mine and you help with poop patrol. You will need to check the fence line to confirm that your dogs cannot get out, as I am not responsible if they escape. A large part of my yard is rewilding, so you will see tall grasses and increasing varieties of flowers over the years. A hot tub may be available by appointment. House is enhanced by the use of focused life force energy (FLFE.net), so enjoy relaxing in the higher vibes. There is one cat to rule us all and she may grace you with her presence if you welcome her. And a border collie to guard anyone she deems as part of her "flock." Site is located an easily walkable ½ mile from a shopping center with grocery (just closed but hoping for another to take its place), vet, Mexican and Asian-fusion restaurants, and a wine bar with occasional entertainment. Beyond that, is a park with a climb to a tall hill with a lovely 360 overlook view of the surrounding mountains. There is access to the river and river trail about ¾ mile walk away - this trail can take you all the way to Farewell Park and the Old Mill shopping area. And a bus stop is around the corner, just about a house length away. This is a great base location for all your adventures in Bend and surrounding areas, and a quiet place in which to relax afterwards. I enjoy hosting and always welcome any guidance, suggestions, and creative ideas to enhance this site.

We are a hard working family of 5 with 2 dogs and a number of other small animals. We run a quiet / tidy space with access to public lands and walking trails. All of this and more, only 10 minutes from town. Hi and welcome to Picknik Place LLC! This is a 20 acre farm, so there is plenty of land to roam free and explore, as well as having your privacy from the primary residents. With this spot, you are nestled under a juniper tree with a lava rock backdrop and can watch the sun dip below the volcanos in the distance. This spot is very simple and tucked away. While feeling remote and removed from the Bend tourism, it only takes 15 minutes to get downtown, where there are ample restaurants, shops, coffehouses, etc. It takes 7 minutes to get to Trader Joe's and Home Depot, and 10 minutes to get to St. Charles Hospital. Heads up- as many places in central Oregon, Picknik Place gets pretty dusty and dry in the summer months.

I wanted a peaceful place to call home. I found this property after a long search with a very patient and kind realtor. I fell in love with it almost immediately. The ponds bring wonderful wildlife that I enjoy watching and listening to….birds, frogs and many other animals. I wanted a property where I could have space to have horses or other farm animals if I chose to. I have not chosen to acquire them as of yet, but I like having the option. I love sharing this spot with others. The stars are incredibly brighter than most places and there is very little noise pollution as well. I call it my Little Desert Oasis. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Learn more about this land:I offer Standard RV plug in electricity and water. Sorry no toilet facilities at all. So you must have your own self-contained bathroom set up in your rig. No tent camping is it allowed. Trailers and vans with toilet are a perfect fit. It feels like country out here with horses, sheep llamas etc. small farms all around. Yet close to town,  just a mile away from Highway 97 and about 3 miles away from Highway 20 near Tumalo. I think you will find the location convenient as it is only 15 minutes from the Redmond Airport, about 20 minutes to Sisters Oregon and downtown Bend is an easy 8 mile drive. There are pretty views of ponds joined by a creek and small waterfalls. The water features attract lots of wildlife! You will likely see deer, wild ducks, quail, hawks and many other types of birds. I even had a duck build a nest next to the pond last year and hatch a clutch of ducklings. There are several small Aspen trees and old junipers near the campsite next to the ponds. If the night sky and stars don’t take your breath away, the frogs will surely serenade you to sleep! There is a little view of the mountains as well. The site is centrally located for easy access to Highway 24 Highway 97. Trader Joe’s, Food 4 Less, Target, Starbucks and a outdoor shopping malls are only 5 miles away. Numerous restaurants are also only 5 miles from the home. There are more than a half a dozen breweries within 8 miles and 45 minutes to Mount Bachelor. The quaint little town of Tumalo is only 3 miles down the road. There you will find a cool taproom (The Bite) with outdoor seating, corn hole and yummy food carts. In addition, there is a great pizza joint and Tumalo Cider Bar. Tumalo State Park is less than 5 miles away. Riley Ranch Nature Preserve is also less than 5 miles away and well worth the trip!
