Our beautiful 1800’s cabin was moved to the property in the 1970’s by a former neighbor who owned the property at the time. The same neighbor also had a historic train depot moved to the property where she sold antiques out of for several years. It is not sure what the cabin was used for at that time but it certainly added charm to the antique store property. When we acquired the property years later, the cabin was in need of work. It sat for a few years until we decided to restore this lovely cabin back to it’s beautiful charm and character. Jim spent a couple years on the project working in his free time and added the porch using old wood in keeping with the natural look and feel of the cabin as well as some interior areas. Upon completion, we opened the cabin as a gift shop selling unique items including antiques, primitives and decor for a few years. We decided to transition the cabin into a place of retreat for traveling guests and still keep some of the goods we sold in the shop available for purchase. We hope that you find the cabin and property a place of peace and tranquility and will want to return. This is a primitive site with no amenities, just a lovely meadow. We make an effort to keep it mowed but there are times in the year the grass gets out of hand, please be aware. Ticks and chiggers can be present depending on the season, so be advised. The campsite is in an open meadow on our 5 acre property, next to the ruins of what was one of the oldest barns in the county (there are still some beautiful stone walls left). You will be surrounded by trees and the spot is completely private. Directly across the road from our property (a 5 minute walk) is the Little Miami Scenic Trail, the third longest paved trail in the US (amazing for biking). The unique village of Yellow Springs is only a 5 minute drive away with a great local grocery store and several cafes. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE BOOKING. Notes: 1) (no RVs or trailers) cars need to park at the entrance of the meadow where there is gravel. Campers got stuck in the meadow due to rain/mud (which is why we do not allow RVs or trailers). 2) If you need to go number 2 please dig a cat hole at least 6" deep. There is an open public toilet in Yellow Springs and several businesses with open bathrooms. 3) The campsite is right off of Route 68. You cannot see cars from the site but you can hear them. The amount of noise from cars is lower at night. 4) The meadow is ideal for tent camping, though it is NOT a built campsite so it is on a somewhat steep slant at spots.

Madden Farm has been in the Madden family and its descendants for seven generations. The original farmhouse on Madden Farm dates back to the 1860s. In 1980, a second dwelling was added to the property when a cabin on a nearby farm was moved across the fields and placed near Madden Pond. Learn more about this land: If you are here in the spring through fall, you can expect a "sea of green". We are surrounded by corn, soybeans or some other mid-west crop. It's quiet out here, so enjoy the sunshine. We put out a large garden each year and we'd love your help. Right now, we can only offer primitive camping. Our electric is not operational. If there has been a lot of rain (April and part of May), then the ground is too soft for camping. However, if you just need a spot we have some gravel driveways where you can set up. There are lots of places to visit while you are here. Two large lakes with free public access are about 40 miles away - Lake Loramie and Grand Lake St. Marys. Lake Loramie has a public beach, bicycle rentals, canoes and kayaks. There is a great restaurant across from the State Park.

The land is very private, we were able to access the property with ease. The camp sites were distanced very nicely as we didn’t really hear or see anyone else. Access to the creek was easy, the creek water was very clear in nature. We did some fishing and caught 4 large mouth bass and a species I never dealt with before. After few forums the fish was skipjack herring know. As poor mans Tarpon. You can hear the coyotes late at night hunting animals. We didn’t encounter any wildlife like deer, or raccoons. The owner greeted us very next day. I would def come back during the summer time and do some fishing. Camp site 3 was excellent cause we like being away from people and being on our own. The location took me by surprise. The owner gave us a tip on hot tent camping, I had a stove was too close to the ground. He recommended some stone or concrete blocks. We went to Home Depot and got some cheap stone stepping stones and fixed our problem with the stove.

Our long weekend at GloryField Hospitality Farm in South Charleston, Ohio was nothing short of magical. From the moment we pulled into the spacious RV pad with our 40-ft Class A, we knew we had found a hidden gem—so much better than the crowded state parks. The level, gravel site overlooks the wetland pond and is well maintained, featuring full hookups (electric, water, and sewer), a picnic table, and a fire ring with convenient access to firewood. The site has good water pressure and well positioned connections relative to the pad. WiFi is available, but plan on using cellular or satellite if you need faster speeds for streaming or VPN. The catch-and-release pond located in a secluded corner of the property was a highlight of the trip. We caught several largemouth bass and crappie. We spent time just relaxing in the benches, listening to the birds chirping and the wind blowing through the fall corn. Kimberly, the host and owner of GloryField, was warm, welcoming, and full of local knowledge, she made us feel right at home—even inviting the family to experience a unique farm experience. If you’re looking for a place to get away into the heart of Ohio, add Gloryfield Hospitality Farm to your list!

Sweet Glum Glade is a great, secluded spot in the woods, but also close enough to a bathroom and hand washing sink - which is ideal when your kids get covered in s’mores! We watched the sunset over the field across from our camp and slept outside underneath the stars. Highly recommended!

This was an amazing camping experience! the sites are very private and spacious. the hosts were kind and have taken time to make sure you have a comfortable stay. The land is beautiful, the creek is accessible and lovely. This was our first stay and we will be back! There are a couple nice restaurants near by (we ate at Fresh to Morrow) and an awesome bike path we will check out next time. We picked up records at a near by record store in an old elementary school building and enjoyed beers and a taco truck at the brewery 3 minutes away. We can’t wait to return and bring friends!
