Numerous large manicured campsites in an open space DIRECTLY ON THE NEW RIVER where adventures abound! Up to 4 guests and 2 tents per site. Newly constructed tiny home provides GLAMPING at its finest! The Liberty cabin shares a space with a few tent sites along the river. With the addition of Liberty, I have limited the number of campers to 4. (Exceptions may be made for holiday weekends). There is plenty of space for everyone and the cabin sits above the tent sites for amazing views and privacy. While HWY 16 can be a bit noisy during busy times, step into the campsites and let the peaceful noise-canceling river serenity whisk you away. Forest views across the river with endless fireflies and stars that light up the night! Zaloo's Canoes, Kayak, and Tubes is within eyesight and will set you up with an amazing float or paddle down river. Plentiful small mouth bass and trout fishing just steps from your site. Outhouse w/washing station. Fire pits at each site as well as a large communal fire pit and picnic tables. Downtown West Jefferson is just 15 minutes away with local breweries, quaint restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, shopping, music, art, and a wonderful farmer's market from May - October. The quaint little town of Lansing, NC is quickly becoming a favorite stop of mine. Check out the Old Orchard Creek General Store, Pie on the Mountain Pizza, the Old Orchard Creek Blueberry Farm, and Molly Chomper for a perfect day in Ashe County. The New River State Park is an easy walk, float, paddle or drive away. This park is absolutely GORGEOUS and impeccably maintained, including hiking trails, public facilities, showers, boat launch and pick up, etc. Just a short drive to multiple Blue Ridge Parkway entry points for ease of access to Boone, Appalachian State University, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, Banner Elk, and the Linville Gorge. Mount Jefferson and Grayson Highlands are also just a short drive away for unlimited hiking and incredible mountain views. My personal favorite is hiking with the wild ponies at Grayson Highlands! We have Firewood available for a nominal fee. Just let us know and we will make arrangements to have it ready for you upon arrival. Please respect quiet hours between 10 PM and 8 AM each evening.

In the cold months, it's heated by a wood burning stove. Also next to the house are logging roads that allow you to hike the Ripshin Mountains. The Yadkin River is near by, and so is Boone and Blowing Rock. If you like mountain biking, bring your bike to ride Kerr Scott, or Zacks Fork trails. Very relaxing spot to decompress and unplug on 7 acres that are mostly wooded. Pisgah National Forest is just two miles away with plenty of hiking to explore. The charming town of Burnsville is just 10 miles on a beautiful, scenic highway. Homeplace Brewery, Birdfoot Taproom, and Snapdragon are among the local spots to visit. Asheville is also nearby at just under an hour’s drive. The trail entrance to Big Butt is a couple miles away with a few great overlook points. If you want to do the whole 24 mile length of the trail (featuring 5 mountain peaks above 6,000ft), I can make shuttle arrangements for your party to be picked up at the end. Each site is expansive, with large areas to spread out and enjoy the views or play yard games. Unlike typical RV parks our sites are spread out on the ridge top and offer great views and lots of space. Our campground offers a unique camping experience for the RV and outdoors enthusiast. All of our RV sites feature views of the surrounding peaks and have full hook ups with, water, septic and 30 or 50 amp power access, high speed wi-fi access at each site as well as a picnic table and in ground fire pits. Wiseman Ridge provides the peace and quiet of nature at its finest, with easy direct access to the Blue Ridge Parkway by foot or by road. We are just a mile down the parkway from the entrance to the Linville Falls parking lot and picnic area, and 2 miles from Kistler Memorial Highway (Old NC 105) that provides access to the western rim of Linville Gorge and multiple trailheads. Valle View Camp Spot! A flat and private spot. Praise Be! Quiet area of Valle Crucis. It is just 2 miles from the original Mast General Store. Larger units must back in carefully between the guard rail and the ditch. The lot had some damage from Helene. This is a parking lot of an old church and sits by two small creeks. Maximum stays are up to 6 nights. No water, no septic. No generators are allowed.  Large concrete pad/parking lot for RV and an extra car or two. This is a campsite only, an RV is not included. We have electricity but no water or septic.  In the spring, summer, and fall - We have a toilet and hand-washing sink inside the building that you may use if you select this as an "add-on". A code to enter the building will be sent if you add this feature. This site does not have potable water and does not have a shower. The closest public bathrooms are at Valle Crucis Community Park. Mountain Dog Coffee and Holloway Corner Kitchen are private, but good places to start your day with coffee and/or food. Please respect our neighbors by limiting noise. This lot is private, but you may see or hear the neighbors. Dogs must always be on a leash when outside your RV or car.  There are no garbage cans or trash pick-up; pack it out, please. The trash/convenience center is about 2 miles away on 194 for you to take your garbage.  We DO NOT advise taking Clarks Creek Rd. from 105 to get to this location. You must travel to Clarks Creek through Valle Crucis via 194. You must also detach any trailer or towed items a mile or so before the camp spot and before the switchbacks. Please view the map and be comfortable with travel to our campsite. There are sections of the road with no shoulder and pit holes due to current construction/road work. There is very limited cellular service in this area. WiFi & WiFi calling should work fine. --- We have a 50 AMP Hookup NO water NO septic. If you have 2 cars, trucks or RVs in the same group you may add them on as another unit. Grandfather Mountain Campground on 105 allows non-guests to use their dump station for a fee. The trash/convenience center is about 2 miles away on 194 for you to take your garbage. Take the trash there before hooking up and leaving as that section of 194 has a large truck warning.

This 1890's farm was many things in times long ago! It acted as a working Tobacco Farm, a country store and was known to have the purest spring in the region by the indians and mountain men! It also has a dark past complete with murder and moonshine! The short version of the story: The farm also acted as a country store that was also a front for moonshine. The Whitson Brothers who owned our farm had a deal with Kit Byrd;  a mountaineer from "on the mountain" who had a knack for making good shine. It ultimately was the death of him at the hands of the 3 Whitson Brothers. Newly constructed tiny home provides GLAMPING at its finest! The Liberty cabin shares a space with a few tent sites along the river. With the addition of Liberty, I have limited the number of campers to 4. (Exceptions may be made for holiday weekends). There is plenty of space for everyone and the cabin sits above the tent sites for amazing views and privacy. While HWY 16 can be a bit noisy during busy times, step into the campsites and let the peaceful noise-canceling river serenity whisk you away. Forest views across the river with endless fireflies and stars that light up the night! Zaloo's Canoes, Kayak, and Tubes is within eyesight and will set you up with an amazing float or paddle down river. Plentiful small mouth bass and trout fishing just steps from your site. Outhouse w/washing station. Fire pits at each site as well as a large communal fire pit and picnic tables. Downtown West Jefferson is just 15 minutes away with local breweries, quaint restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, shopping, music, art, and a wonderful farmer's market from May - October. The quaint little town of Lansing, NC is quickly becoming a favorite stop of mine. Check out the Old Orchard Creek General Store, Pie on the Mountain Pizza, the Old Orchard Creek Blueberry Farm, and Molly Chomper for a perfect day in Ashe County. The New River State Park is an easy walk, float, paddle or drive away. This park is absolutely GORGEOUS and impeccably maintained, including hiking trails, public facilities, showers, boat launch and pick up, etc. Just a short drive to multiple Blue Ridge Parkway entry points for ease of access to Boone, Appalachian State University, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, Banner Elk, and the Linville Gorge. Mount Jefferson and Grayson Highlands are also just a short drive away for unlimited hiking and incredible mountain views. My personal favorite is hiking with the wild ponies at Grayson Highlands! We have Firewood available for a nominal fee. Just let us know and we will make arrangements to have it ready for you upon arrival. Please respect quiet hours between 10 PM and 8 AM each evening.

It's a unique cozy loft style design, set back in the woods on our property. It's purposely placed next to a creek, with a nice stone fire ring to really enjoy the outdoors. In the cold months, it's heated by a wood burning stove. Also next to the house are logging roads that allow you to hike the Ripshin Mountains. The Yadkin River is near by, and so is Boone and Blowing Rock. If you like mountain biking, bring your bike to ride Kerr Scott, or Zacks Fork trails. Very relaxing spot to decompress and unplug on 7 acres that are mostly wooded. Pisgah National Forest is just two miles away with plenty of hiking to explore. The charming town of Burnsville is just 10 miles on a beautiful, scenic highway. Homeplace Brewery, Birdfoot Taproom, and Snapdragon are among the local spots to visit. Asheville is also nearby at just under an hour’s drive. The trail entrance to Big Butt is a couple miles away with a few great overlook points. If you want to do the whole 24 mile length of the trail (featuring 5 mountain peaks above 6,000ft), I can make shuttle arrangements for your party to be picked up at the end. The trash/convenience center is about 2 miles away on 194 for you to take your garbage.  We DO NOT advise taking Clarks Creek Rd. from 105 to get to this location. You must travel to Clarks Creek through Valle Crucis via 194. You must also detach any trailer or towed items a mile or so before the camp spot and before the switchbacks. Please view the map and be comfortable with travel to our campsite. There are sections of the road with no shoulder and pit holes due to current construction/road work. There is very limited cellular service in this area. WiFi & WiFi calling should work fine. --- We have a 50 AMP Hookup NO water NO septic. If you have 2 cars, trucks or RVs in the same group you may add them on as another unit. Grandfather Mountain Campground on 105 allows non-guests to use their dump station for a fee. The trash/convenience center is about 2 miles away on 194 for you to take your garbage. Take the trash there before hooking up and leaving as that section of 194 has a large truck warning.

The trash/convenience center is about 2 miles away on 194 for you to take your garbage. Take the trash there before hooking up and leaving as that section of 194 has a large truck warning.

This 1890's farm was many things in times long ago! It acted as a working Tobacco Farm, a country store and was known to have the purest spring in the region by the indians and mountain men! It also has a dark past complete with murder and moonshine! For a full history check out this book, Red Hill. The untold story of the Whitson Brothers and the Murder of Kit Byrd. The short version of the story: The farm also acted as a country store that was also a front for moonshine. The Whitson Brothers who owned our farm had a deal with Kit Byrd;  a mountaineer from "on the mountain" who had a knack for making good shine. It ultimately was the death of him at the hands of the 3 Whitson Brothers. Rose Creek was a great spot on the creek, which included the perfect balance of seclusion and civilization. It was a great spot for my toddler and two dogs to explore. Thomas was a great host and had little odds and ends to make the trip easier, including a heated hose as temps dipped into the teens at night. Would definitely recommend and plan to come back!

I can’t say enough about how great this place is! The property is beautiful, and also secure. I felt safe being there. The different sites are far enough from one another that you don’t feel like you’re there with anyone or on top of each other. The yurt itself (I stayed in the Gnome) was clean and well kept, had every thing I could need or want. It was comfortable and felt very cozy on the chilly nights. Sitting on the deck for breakfast and dinner was perfect. The view is beyond words! Having utensils, propane heat, electricity for basics like charging electronics, and everything I need for cooking was perfect. Add on top of that the little additional things like games, towels, a little rechargeable and portable lamp, and cleaning supplies, this place was perfect! Even if I never left the property it was an amazing vacation with great hiking and a beautiful serene escape. My dogs both loved being able to explore off leash and I never felt like they were unsafe. I’m already planning my trip back next fall with my entire family!

There was plenty of space to paek and sent up a tent, on a flat open area with privacy. I felt safe. It was close to cafes, restaurants and out door adventures. And I appreciated the picnic table and fire pit. The only draw back for me was the street light (pro-helped with lighting the drive way for better visibility to find it, con-bright light at night slightly impacted my sleep and ambiance at night). Ted was responsive and helpful to any questions I had throughout the arrival and weekend process. Overall, grateful for the experience.

Fantastic location with an incredible view of the mountains, like camping but with all the modern comforts you’d need. Excellent kitchen and eating area, huge deck to sit outside on and a very nice bathroom. We did 3 days here and did not see one other person or car drive by - this place is PRIVATE. Great location as it’s close to Linville Gorge, caverns, Blowing Rock, Blue Ridge Parkway you name it.

What a wonderful place to unplug and relax! We had just enough internet to stay in touch and be online when we needed to but it also helped us read and relax more. Plenty of space to let our dog off leash. We’ve never done that before. Thankful though she was inside the camper the morning I saw a beautiful fox come trotting down the road. Be aware there are pickups etc. traveling this road in the daytime but it was very quiet and silent at night. Thomas was an exceptional host and has thought of everything. So nice to have firewood (good wood too) at the ready. We’re already talking about when to return.
