Gusher Knob is a 220+ acre forested mountain near Spruce Pine, NC. The site has a 12 x 12 raised platform for your tent (we don't recommend pitching a tent anywhere other than the platform), picnic table, fire pit, and a hook to hold a lantern. This is the only campsite on the property and has a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Please stay within the campsite area as the surrounding land is private and monitored. Cell coverage is ok. Nearby hiking, climbing, and fly fishing are a few activities you will enjoy when visiting this lovely area of western NC. The campsite is a short 7-minute easy hike along a well-marked clear trail from the parking spot. The trail is non-technical and will mostly accommodate camping gear with wheels, such as a cooler. Since it's situated in the woods, please be aware that you may encounter any number of nature's residents such as deer, squirrels, box turtles, wild turkeys, and bears. Please do not feed them and make sure to protect any food items appropriately. None of the natural residents has any interest in you personally, but they are known to be drawn to available food items.Welcome to our just completed campsite - Hummingbird Overlook at Gusher Knob! We are excited to share this serene, wooded camping spot with you. It will allow you to fully submerge yourself in the soul cleansing rite of primitive camping. The views of the Blue Ridge Mountains will only enhance that morning cup of joe. The Town of Spruce Pine is minutes away and has restaurants, shopping, and seasonal festivals. Linville Gorge is also close by and is known for its hikes and climbs, as well as the Linville Caverns, Linville Falls and Linville Winery. If you enjoy fly fishing, the renowned North Toe River flows through this area as well.

Amazing view!
The pictures posted simply do not do the beauty of this sight justice. The view was great from the campsite and the hike in was a fun way to get things started. We were worried about finding it but the parking was easily identified and the trail was well marked. We would def recommend this sight to anyone!

Great spot. We just left our cooler and anything we would have put in a bear box in the car and would just go get it in the morning. The site was a short drive from lots of good day hikes. Also had a good breakfast on the way out of town at the Fox and the Fig.

We had an amazing time at William’s campsite. The site was clean and thoughtful with a table and platform. The view was great and it was very quiet and peaceful. We would highly recommend booking!

This is the first time my boyfriend and I have ever camped on our own and we loved it! The view was so nice and we loved having the privacy you don’t get in a traditional campground. I would recommend packing as light as possible because it was a good seven minute walk in and there’s a few inclines/declines that the wheels of our cooler struggled with. The fire pit was great and the trees were perfect for a hammock!
