Would definitely camp here again and again. View was incredible. Table, platform and fire put were great. Enough trees to tie up tarps if raining and hammock. Can’t stress this place enough. I would say that it is definitely at least a 7 minute hike in. Somewhat difficult to do car camping but we made it work and it was still worth it. Such a great place

Relaxing with a FANTASTIC view!
We really enjoyed this camp site! The views were amazing and it was so relaxing and secluded. Firepit and picnic table was a nice addition. The hike up wasn’t too bad just wouldn’t recommend bringing a lot bc it was a struggle walking up and down the hills with all our equipment and firewood if so bring a wagon or something to roll it to the site with. If you want a mountain getaway with a perfect view of the mountains and stars at night this camp site is for you! We will be back 😊

Beautiful, private spot. Woke up to wild turkeys gobbling this morning!

Great site, tight fit for families
The site is beautiful, and the platform, table, and fire pit are well constructed. It’s perfect for a couple. We stayed a couple nights with our family of five, though, and there were some things we wish we had known beforehand for a family-size group.
1) The platform is not built for large tents. We have a The North Face Wawona 6, and the footprint of tent (10’x8’) barely fit (the vestibule didn’t fit at all).
2) The “wagon compatible” trail is pretty daunting. The beautiful high campsite means some pretty steep sections of trail to get there. Our wagon absolutely made it, but we left some creature comforts in the car because they weren’t worth schlepping to the top.
3) Most of the site is sloped, so there’s not really a place to gather except at the table. The fire pit is even on a slope, so it’s pretty hard to sit around it for warmth at night. (The kids’ chairs tipped over multiple times.)
4) A positive note: The site is around old mica mines, so there are scattered bits of that mineral all over the place. The ground literally sparkles, which is super cool.

Amazing View!
Gusher Knob was amazing! The path had sparkly metal scattered everywhere! Was it an old aluminum mine? That made the path pretty. The view from the sit was beath taking. Stars were amazing and we woke up to a turkey gobbling in the diatance. Strongly recommend!

Private and Stunning!
Wow! We wanted something private with stunning views of the surrounding mountains, and this was everything and more. William's land is beautiful and the short walk to the platform makes you feel as if you're truly secluded. We opted to leave our rainfly off the tent and admire all the stars... this little piece of land is pure magic.
