Weekend Trip to Redeemers Ridge Retreat

Stargazer Dome was by far the most epic glamping experience I have ever had. Absolutely peaceful and quiet back in here. With gorgeous views, from moonlight shining through the dome ceiling at night, a most spectacular sunset! Whether it was cooking over the smokeless firepit or simply cooking on the hot plate all of it was such a refreshing experience. I will definitely be recommending this place to everyone I know👌

Weekend Trip to Tranquil Highlands Campground

Camping on Trevor’s land was an incredible experience! Very tranquil spot with tons of shade and ferns! Absolutely need 4 wheel drive to get up to the spot especially after rain. Trevor was incredible with communication as well as making sure I had everything I needed. The location is very close to Linville Gorge and I highly recommend doing a hike when stay here! I will absolutely be back 🫶🏼

Secluded amd nice little spot. There is a raised platform with rocks that we didn't utilize for our tent, but that was such a a minor thing. Everything else was solid. Fresh porta John on site, water, trash can, fire pit. Instructions to get in were clear and concise. Would do again!

2 nights at Farmhouse Gallery & Gardens

Pat and Johnny's place is amazing! Gracious and kind hosts all around. When I first arrived, I was greeted by Pat and her son, Robin, as if I were an old friend. I arrived a bit early, so Robin showed me around the farm, from the buffalo and goats to the peacocks and pond; it was truly magical and peaceful. I most definitely will be coming back. Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing stay.

I can not find the words to fully capture the beauty and magic of this stay at Gnome Yome. We absolutely loved every second of it. Trevor was super helpful! Fantastic to have our dogs off leash. We had 6 people (3 tents) and 3 dogs and plenty big and spacious. Will definitely book this spot again. You definitely need 4x4 car and some experience driving up mud if it rains hard. But Trevor was super helpful in making sure we had an amazing weekend.

This campsite was our absolute favorite. We visited in late spring, it offered gorgeous views and absolute privacy! It’s totally primitive, so I’d recommend camping experience before setting up here. The campfire wood bundles Jon offers are a healthy amount, definitely enough for an all night fire. West Jefferson and Jefferson are perfect day retreats while you’re posted up out here. We can’t wait to return for each season!

Camping here was such a delight! Brian was very helpful with any questions or concerns. Loved all the wonderful amenities. Hearing the creek run while looking out at North Carolina is so peaceful! Having access to the gator was not only extremely helpful but SO fun to drive up!

Omg this place exceeded our expectations! The hosts were very welcoming and showed us around. The site had full hookups. Site was beautifully maintained, super quiet and secluded, beautiful trails on site and plenty of space to explore! Lots of picnic tables/benches throughout the site. Had a nice fire pit and plenty of firewood that was provided. Only two sites so felt super private. Will definitely come back!

Weekend Trip to Private Yurt on a Farm with Creek

This is an amazing little yurt and campsite! Everything is very well thought out by farmer sprout and makes for a lovely little getaway. There is lots of misc camping equipment in the shed (so if you forget things like we did, you’re covered)! And the micro greens we added on were super yummy! We had such a pleasant weekend away watching fireflies and listening to the creek. 100/10 recommend!! Thank you farmer sprout!! As an aside, I was a little concerned about the compost toilet at first, but it was super easy to use and so much cleaner than any other campsite toilet I’ve ever used! Definitely don’t let that deter you!

Milk weed and butterfly attractants will bloom in the coming month on sunrise mountain and it’s looking good! Our farm is vast and sparse, focusing on sustainability while giving back to the community. We are a safe haven for animals and humans alike. Situated on and between two peaks of Little Phoenix Mountain range in Jefferson Ashe County. Our sites’ altitudes range from 3100 feet to over 3600 feet, which is a lot of slope and hillside to say the least. As a guest you will be offered insane long views and limited exposure to the oldest registered breed of bovine in the world. Our Scottish Highland Cattle are majestic and fit in quite well in the NC mountainside. Located in the Blue Ridge mountains, we have natural water springs popping out, some of which are tapped to drink from. (10.1.23 currently farm springs are not accessible to guests, shatley springs up the road approx 4miles north has a public spring that we highly recommend) If you are looking for a camping spot that is only 5-10 minutes from town (Jefferson NC or the quaint Downtown West Jefferson) but feels like you're in the middle of no where, then we have it! The Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 20 minutes away and the New River equally close. Looking Forward: July update. We are currently working on provided an all downhill mountain bike trail from 3600 to 3150ft. This path will be double wide for the most part and wide open at first to soak in the se view. Will update when completed! *a ride back up for your bike and yourself will be scheduled if requested OnTopOfTheWorld.camp *firewood is available if you pay on site you will have to use Venmo/Paypal *We do not allow any harvesting of campfire wood or burning of our property outside of the designated fire ring. We did experience about 14 inches of rain and extreme wind causing significant tree damage. We invite you to enjoy one of our two full hookup RV sites which includes 20/30/50 amp service, sewer, and water at each campsite. Our pads are extra wide, level, and extra long complete with a fire pit and picnic table. Sites are located in a grassy field surrounded by forest. Our 70 acre property boasts scenic views, two small ponds with fish to feed, and marked hiking trails. This is a perfect place for star gazing. Due to requests a second site was created in February '22. This is a perfect place for two families to enjoy this acreage all to themselves. Please see photo denoting the location of site 1 and site 2. Each site is booked independently. If you should ever decide that you want to leave this quiet haven, consider an adventure to: NASCAR North Wilkesboro Speedway 18 miles, Wilkesboro (Merelefest, Faithfest) 16 miles, West Jefferson 28 miles, Stone Mountain State Park 24 miles, Boone 43 miles, Tweetsie Railroad 46 miles, Grandfather Mtn 56 miles, Mt. Airy (Mayberry) 53 miles. We have had several 40+ft rigs stay with us with no issue. For those not used to mountain travel or new drivers please know that travel off NC 18 on the state road is a typical two lane paved mountain road with curves, some of which will require you to swing wide, an incline that does not exceed 8% in a couple of places, a short state maintained gapped section of gravel and an occasional low hanging branch. Caution: Wildlife present in the area including bear, bobcat, deer, turkey.

I sleep a lot on the day bed in the living room so the Sawmill can be comfortably rented for up to 4 guests. The outhouse is a thing of the past, just recently I installed a compositing toilet besides the bedroom.We also offer The Summit which is a high elevation, 2-story cabin surrounded by national forest which has evolved into an off-grid living and play space located at nearly 3300 feet elevation on a 1/2 acre flat with an incredible view. There are very private old forest service trails leading directly into the Pisgah National Forest.

Blue Ridge Horse Adventures

Get away from the crowds. On 300 beautiful acres once operated as a children's summer adventure camp, this property has a house with a dormitory style bathroom for camper use. There are 3 primitive campsites, 2 cottages, and a horse sanctuary. The campsites are spaced out around the property for privacy. A short walk gets you to the bathroom reserved for campers only which has 2 toilets, 2 showers, and 2 sinks. 4WD or AWD is recommended for all sites due to 1/2 mile gravel road and then completely off road for a short distance. Or, if you are bringing 2WD, there is plenty of parking and then walk to your campsite. We don't recommend trying to bring large RV's due to the access. We have not had a problem with Black Bears on the property. Help us keep it that way. Do not store or keep food in your tent. Don't sleep with food. Keep in mind bears are omnivores much like us. They eat mostly plants but also eat meat. For more info on bear safety, visit www.bearwise.org Winter camping is encouraged with free firewood. However, you will probably need to park near the bathroom and walk to your campsite to limit soil erosion of the off-road trail. Pets are welcome only at some sites, but please please let us know you are bringing them and they will need to be leashed due to other animals. A large part of the property is forest with hiking trails, creeks, and wildlife. You can see wildflowers and lightning bugs in season along with deer, turkey, and horses. And all of our spots have a great view of the sky! We're not far from the Bare Dark Sky Observatory. The grass horse arena and the pond were originally built for the summer camp. The pond is stocked with bass and bluegill and has a chorus of bullfrogs in summer. The arena is flat and has a long range mountain view all the way to Mt. Mitchell (highest peak east of the Mississippi). There are also a meadow spot encircled by trees.

Campsite also boasts energizing, private hike up to Heaton Ridge. Want to spend the day kayaking or canoeing? Head to Wilbur Lake, about a 30 minute drive away from our campsite. Exploring Laura Falls is only a 20 minute drive away. Blue Ridge Parkway, Blowing Rock, and Grandfather Mountain in N.C. are about 30-45 minutes away. The Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg, and Dollywood are about a 2 hour drive through amazing mountain views. The annual Rhododendron Festival takes place minutes away. Supplies can be found at the state park camp store or in town at Redi-Mart or Dollar General. Water and showers are down by barn. A Gator is available for the duration of your stay. Please arrive before sundown so we can meet you the first time you stay to show you the way and make sure you are comfortable driving Gator. We will have you follow us up to the campsite and from there you can come and go and just leave the Gator by your car near the barn when you are out and about and when checking out. A small Bluetti power charging station will be available in the tent (for light charging of cell phones, other) which can be recharged by the barn if used heavily. A Coleman stove with a small propane tank, pots, a frying pan and utensils is also included in the site. Another small propane tank is provided for the radiator in the tent.

Mila’s Bunny Farm

Nice secluded tent campsite on an angora bunny farm. Listen to the sound of the mountain creek while you sleep, and cuddle with bunnies by the running water wheel during the day. Very relaxing spot to decompress and unplug on 7 acres that are mostly wooded. Pisgah National Forest is just two miles away with plenty of hiking to explore. The charming town of Burnsville is just 10 miles on a beautiful, scenic highway. Homeplace Brewery, Birdfoot Taproom, and Snapdragon are among the local spots to visit. Asheville is also nearby at just under an hour’s drive. The trail entrance to Big Butt is a couple miles away with a few great overlook points. If you want to do the whole 24 mile length of the trail (featuring 5 mountain peaks above 6,000ft), I can make shuttle arrangements for your party to be picked up at the end. Navitat Ziplining is very close, as well as gorgeous flower farms and Mountain Light Sanctuary to visit over in Barnardsville. Come enjoy our mountain community!
