Located on a 70-acre private property surrounded by lush forests and scenic views, our homestead features two spacious, independent full-hookup RV sites. Whether you are looking for a peaceful solo getaway or booking both sites together for a two-family retreat, this is your perfect basecamp for relaxation and outdoor adventure. Each of our two campsite locations features its own independent premium setups: * Full Hookups: Complete with 20/30/50 amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. * Premium Pads: Extra-wide, extra-long, and level gravel pads built to comfortably accommodate large setups. * Campfire Essentials: Every site includes its own private fire pit and picnic table. * On-Site Activities: Miles of marked hiking trails, beautiful scenic views, and two small fish ponds (fish food provided!). Big Rig Friendly & Travel Details: We regularly host 40+ foot rigs with no issues. To ensure a smooth arrival, please review our mountain travel notes: * The Route: Access off NC 18 is a typical, paved two-lane mountain road. * Road Conditions: Expect tight curves that require swinging wide, moderate inclines up to 8%, and a short, state-maintained gravel section. Watch for occasional low-hanging branches. * Site Approach: There is a slight incline and loose gravel directly at the campsite pad entrance. Location & Day Trips: When you are ready to explore the beautiful surrounding region, we are perfectly positioned near top North Carolina destinations: * Wilkesboro / Speedway (16–18 miles): Home to MerleFest, FaithFest, the Apple Festival, and North Wilkesboro Speedway. * Stone Mountain State Park (24 miles): Incredible hiking, waterfalls, and rock climbing. * High Country Towns: West Jefferson (28 miles), Boone (43 miles), Tweetsie Railroad (46 miles), and Grandfather Mountain (56 miles). * Mount Airy / "Mayberry" (53 miles): Classic small-town Americana charm. Guest Access & Wildlife: * Booking: Each site is booked independently. If you are traveling with another family, make sure to reserve both sites! Please refer to our site map photo to see the layout of Site 1 and Site 2. * Wildlife Warning: You will be staying in a true wilderness setting. Wildlife is active in the area, including deer, wild turkey, bobcats, and black bears. Please secure food safely.

It's our heart when you return home that you feel like you have truly gotten away when you stay with us. We invite you to enjoy one of our two full hookup RV sites which includes 20/30/50 amp service, sewer, and water at each campsite. Our pads are extra wide, level, and extra long complete with a fire pit and picnic table. Sites are located in a grassy field surrounded by forest. Our 70 acre property boasts scenic views, two small ponds with fish to feed, and marked hiking trails. This is a perfect place for star gazing. Due to requests a second site was created in February '22. This is an incredible opportunity for two families to enjoy this acreage all to themselves. Please see photo denoting the location of site 1 and site 2. Each site is booked independently. If you should ever decide that you want to leave this quiet haven, consider an adventure to: NASCAR North Wilkesboro Speedway 18 miles, Wilkesboro (Merelefest, Faithfest) 16 miles, West Jefferson 28 miles, Stone Mountain State Park 24 miles, Boone 43 miles, Tweetsie Railroad 46 miles, Grandfather Mtn 56 miles, Mt. Airy (Mayberry) 53 miles. We have had several 40+ft rigs stay with us with no issue. For those not used to mountain travel or new drivers please know that travel off NC 18 on the state road is a typical two lane paved mountain road with curves, some of which will require you to swing wide, an incline that does not exceed 8% in a couple of places, a short state maintained gapped section of gravel and an occasional low hanging branch. Caution: Wildlife present in the area including bear, bobcat, deer, turkey.

Outstanding double campsites with amazing privacy on top of a mountain. Can accommodate any size rigs, although the road in has some tight hairpin turns. Landscaping/site pads/utilities were all immaculate and showed much care and attention. Beautiful hiking trails, benches, water features, and a gazebo. Starlink worked perfectly. Owners were nice and accommodating - a strong storm blew through right after setting up and they made sure we were ok and didnt need anything. One of the best campsites in NC/VA we've ever been to. Note - while seclusion is part of the allure here, its a solid 30 minute drive to get to most anything else. Stock up before you arrive and relax!

From the moment we arrived it was absolutely wonderful. Our host met us the gate. The directions to get there were phenomenal, She had a fresh cut flower bouquet on our picnic table. Everything was as pictured and as stated. It’s always nice to not to have any bad surprises when you’re camping. Everything worked really well the electricity, the water the sewer. It was all 100% up to par. The grounds were gorgeous. I highly recommend you checking this Hip Camp out if you’re in the area.

The hosts were both very welcoming. If I needed anything to contact them. Both sites; upper and lower were very well maintained. The sites are spaced far enough apart from each-other. Lots of room to walk your dogs. If you need a cell signal walk up the hill to the right of the upper site. But who wants to look at the phone with such a gorgeous campsite 😀

We had a great time! We were greeted at the gate when we got there and got into our spot without any issues. Had a chance to check.out some of the trails. The pre Cival War chimney was pretty cool and a little bit of a hike. Janet is a great host and the sites are very large.

Janet and Matthew are great hosts and have a beautiful property. We enjoyed meeting them and we will definitely be back. The sites are private and perfectly maintained. It is an easy drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway if you want to get out and see the area.

This place is truly a little slice of heaven! The property is beautifully manicured with well-maintained trails, and our site was level, private, and peaceful. We loved seeing the deer and relaxing on the swing. There was also a fire pit with complimentary firewood available, which was a thoughtful touch. The hosts were amazing and welcomed us so warmly- just genuinely great humans. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return!

What a greeting! Janet and Matthew welcomed us at the entrance and led us to our site. We were presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers! The sites were so clean and FHU were well organized. While there we took advantage of the hiking paths that were cleared. To say a lot of planning and thought went into this place would be an understatement. They thought of everything from water drainage to brush clearance all for visitors to enjoy. What a beautiful property and a beautiful couple! We will visit again!

Another great trip to Site #1. If relaxing peacefully in the woods is your style, this is the place. A beautifully kept area with fire pit, picnic tables, and even swings now. Plently of trails to walk if you are like us and the labradors need a place to explore and sniff. It's a peace of paradise. If you feel the need to explore, downtown Wilkesboro has some nice antique shops and even a pizza place that has the option for a delicious gluten free pizza crust in a wood fired oven. The hosts are great to talk to and I enjoyed visiting with them when they dropped off flowers. This spot is on our annual camping trips list for a reason, a place that allows you to unwind from the chaos of life. Plenty of sun or shade, places to read and nap. Highly recommend staying here. Even heard a whip-poor-will which I havent heard in years as we sat by the fire at night.

We loved this space! We came with our 2 dogs and our friends were in the other site. It was beautiful, very clean/well kept and overall a great relaxing weekend. Janet and her husband were very welcoming when we arrived and guided us into the site and asked if we needed any help etc. Will definitely be returning!

This space has been so beautifully and thoughtfully designed and very well kept. The peace and tranquility of the area were wonderful, the views were spectacular. We camped with friends so it was a perfect set up. There are a myriad of trails to wonder through and several points of interest. We hope to go again next year! Thank you both for your hospitality!

This was by far the most peaceful camping trip I have experienced. Janet and her husband’s property is absolutely stunning. Truly a little piece of heaven. They have thought of absolutely everything. I absolutely love this campsite! So private and quiet. Janet and Matthew are the most incredible hosts ever. Janet always greets you with a vase of flowers. They are quick to respond if you need anything but are totally unobtrusive otherwise. If you'd like to get away from everything, this is the place to be!

The space was so well maintained. With only 2 spots and spread out we felt very secluded and private. We loved the campfire ring on the back of the space under the tree cover. We did have a problem getting our camper up the entrance hill but they were great, got a tractor and pulled us up! Talk about service! They have trails on their lot but we headed out to Stone Mountain and Roaring River Vineyard for the day - would recommend both. We would definitely come back…once we have a better truck 😊

We enjoyed our trip to Janet’s land and will definitely return someday. We hiked the trails on the property and sat by the campfire at night. The RV parking spot was large and flat. The property was quiet and allowed us a peaceful weekend to recharge. The communication about our stay was timely and accurate. Thanks so much for your hospitality, Janet.

This site is my favorite on HipCamp so far! The site is meticulously maintained. The on-site trails were a real treat! Janet’s flowers are amazing! I brought my bouquet home and it’s still brightening my day. They put so much thought into this slice of heaven. We will return! The sites are spaced well apart for privacy (we had it all to ourselves). Pads were level, full hook-ups. We had ample cell coverage (Verizon). We had no worries letting our pup off leash. The open field allows for some great stargazing.

Beautiful and Peaceful. So much thought and care was put into the property. It reminded me at being a private park. My wife, labradors and I stayed on 1 site with other family members on site 2 so it was like having our own private camp ground. Large RV sites for the camper and family fun. Large grassy area between the 2 sites for activities and provide plenty of room between sites. The property is very well taken care of with easy access to trails. Labradors loved the trails and made sure we got our exercise in this long weekend. Janet's flower garden was in bloom so we took advantage with a photo shoot. Benches and tables along the trails and by the pond to enjoy. This is my new favorite campground as it is a perfect get away from the hustle and stress of work and get back to the basics of nature!

Janet and Matthew were absolutely amazing!! My brother in law found this place and asked if my husband and I would be willing to make the 4 1/2 hour drive down to it. Simple answer- yes. Extended answer- ABSOLUTELY YES! It was so worth the drive, and we’re already talking about planning another trip next year. The views were spectacular, the campsites are well taken care of, and there are plenty of trails to explore or take your dogs on! They were spectacular hosts! Made sure we had everything we needed, even provided us with some firewood! Cannot recommend this place enough, we will definitely be returning!

If you're looking for some peace and quiet this is the place. The RV pad for site #1 was more than suitable for our 17 ft camper. The open field provided a spectacular star gazing opportunity. Hosts Janet and Matthew went out of their way to ensure a wonderful experience. We enjoyed the beautiful flowers that Janet gave us upon arrival, and learning about her gardens. We also enjoyed the hiking trails around the property. We would definitely recommend this hipcamp to others.
