Weekend Trip to Legacy Farms Leisure Area

We always love staying at Legacy Farms. It’s always a nice peaceful getaway, and allows us to reconnect with each other as a family. The kids love helping out on the farm, and spending time with the animals. As always, Liz and Tom are friendly and accommodating, and very patient!

Weekend Trip to Untouched at Livingston Creek

Tons of room to set up a rooftop tent and campsite. We had a peaceful night of rest during our trip. My dog had a great time investigating the farm. Since it is a farm, expect farm animal noises at night and in the morning. Danny and his wife were very welcoming.

This spot was a refreshing place to stop and rest during our long journey North. The fields were pretty, the bathroom was clean and the sites were surrounded by a well kept lawn. We will return!

Weekend Trip to The Pine Tree Retreat

We had a great time on Joseph's land. The entrance off the main road was a little hard to find. We passed it twice, but then once we found the correct road, it was easy to get to the spot. Our Toyota Corolla handled it just fine. The spot is nicely secluded considering its right off a main road and only 20 minutes from town, which is great because there's a Walmart there that stays open pretty late and lots of other stores in case you forget something or need to do a #2😆. You cannot see any houses once you get to the spot. Our dog ran around non-stop the entire time we were there and she loved it. This spot was clean, accommodating, and convenient to get to. We only caught very small fish, but it was fun. We threw them back with hopes to visit again in a few months and catch them again once they are bigger. We really enjoyed it and hope to visit again in the future. Host was easy and efficient to communicate with. Thanks Joseph.

3 nights at Cedar Creek Campground at Elease

My husband and I stayed 3 nights for the second time there with our A-liner. The campsites are nestled under loblolly pine trees and beautifully manicured property. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating and respected our privacy. We will be staying here regularly as it is a perfect, quiet place to enjoy nature and a respite from our busy schedules.

1 night at Cedar Creek Campground at Elease

Easy to find, easy to park at, convenient to I-95, safe, clean, and so many extras! There are even well marked trails (with colored blazes!) running throughout the property. Great signage throughout the property, but the signage is tastefully done and not intrusive to the overall camping esthetic. The hosts are fantastic- quick and clear communicators. They engage as much or as little as you want. As noted in the HipCamp listing, the cellular service for AT&T is sketchy at best. I could not set up an AT&T hotspot, but did manage to get a few emails out and a few SMS messages out. The HipCamp app would not connect due to the poor AT&T service. The hosts offer a WiFi package …. I did not take advantage of this, but if you are on AT&T and need connectivity, I would go for the WiFi addon. This trip was only an overnight stay for me on a south bound journey, but I would like to come back and stay a few days. It is clear that Mike and Scott know exactly what a HipCamper would need for a stay. Thank you Mike and Scott!!!

7 nights at Double L Farms RV Park, LLC

The host (Lisa) met us as we were pulling in during a downpour of rain and escorted us to our site. They were more than willing to help us set up. The sites are easy to get into even with a 41’ fifth wheel. The sites are very generous in size with nice views of the horses roaming in the pasture. We went to the little farm fresh market on the property and truly enjoyed the beef and pork we purchased. You can’t go wrong staying here!

5 nights at Legacy Farms Leisure Area

Liz’s property is a working horse farm. When I arrived, Tom, Liz’s husband, showed me around and I got a peek at a foal that was only 3 1/2 days old. The next day, young foal was running around with its mother. People occasionally come to ride the horses around the farm. They also have a pride of beautiful peafowl grazing the property, as well as a few dogs and uncounted cats. Liz and Tom are extremely friendly, but give guests respect for the rented space. The water hookup is very tasty well water. 120V plug accomodated me until I turned on the toaster oven when I blew the circuit breaker. I consider that my bad. Electric fences are rife, so watch your children and dogs! I would spend more time here if I could. Just about 30 minutes south of Fayetteville, and nearer to other amenities, I find it very convenient for groceries, the gym, home improvement store, hardware, etc. Five stars all the way!

We were looking for a place en route back north. Very convenient to I-95. Lisa & Brian were so friendly & let us borrow converter for 50 to 30 amp so that we could camp at the end spot near the horses. The pony in the pasture was adorable! We spent a nice quiet evening getting good rest. Thank you Lisa & Brian :)

If you are traveling on I-95, it's a great place to spend the night. It's close to the interstate, very attractive, and there is a friendly emu near the water spicket. The goats and pot bellied pig are pretty cool too.

Agape Farm South is a lavender farm in Dillon, SC, just across the NC border. This is our second year and have a total of 600 plants growing. The property is 15+ total acre with a cleared 2.8 acre field of which approx 1/4 of that has the lavender. We will be adding more lavender each spring and fall. There are two orchards framing the field and property lines. This is an undeveloped rural property, there are currently to amenities. We have cut out a camping (RV or tent) in the woods on the edge of the field. The shaded spot is enclosed with dog fencing and gated with two rear exits into the woods. This means that you can pull in your camper, or car with tent equipment, close the gate and lets your dogs out. They two can experience some nature in a safe manner. This is something you cannot get in many places. There is a fire ring and firewood, table and 2 chairs. Lavender blooms in spring and summer and attracts many butterflies. The fruiting orchards will start producing fruit in 2024. Please know that this is our home away from home and our future retirement income. Please respect it and leave no trace of your presence. We are happy to share it with you. If you are in a RV/Travel Trailer, there is Bass Lake Campground right on the I95 exit for Dillon that offer water, dump station and propane for your needs. The wildlife is abundant, and although the deer ruin our row covering, we still like having them around and are creating food plots for them at the rear of the property to draw them away from the field (fingers crossed). Jackson Farm Guest House

This farm has been in my family since Thomas Jefferson was president. I began management of the farm in 1980 and remodeled an old farmhouse into a guest house for a family or for couples to find an escape from the chaos of city life and the modern world generally. The house sits on a gated, 10 acre wildlife preserve, beside a 3 acre pond, which adjoins our 100 acres of fields and forest. Our entire farm is in a conservation easement so it can never be developed, and we are one of the few private properties on the NC Wildlife Resources Commission "Birding Trail"; we have documented over 100 species of birds here in different seasons of the year. Our pond, private for guest house users, offers good fishing and we provide a boat. We also have over 2 miles of walking trails through our woodland and along the pond. Although we permit no outdoor fires, we do have a fireplace in the house and furnish free, seasoned firewood. We grow organic vegetables, alliums, and fresh herbs, along with a great many flowers to attract pollinators. Because some of our guests are allergic to pet dander, and because pets often frighten the wildlife away, we do not accept any pets here, nor do we own any ourselves. Learn more about this land: We offer a two bedroom private guest house with central heat and air, situated in a 10 acre, gated wildlife preserve which adjoins our 100 acre farm and which overlooks a private fishing pond (with boat). We promise no TV, radio, newspaper, telephone or internet connection, but do have a small library in the house. For the convenience of the ladies, the kitchen has no stove but does have a large, sheltered smoker/grill (charcoal provided) on a covered patio beside the kitchen, a full power microwave, and all other kitchen amenities, including a French press with a bean grinder and electric kettle; we also provide our own blend of fresh roasted coffee beans as well as tea, herb tea, chocolate and popcorn. The bathroom has a large claw footed tub and we provide bath salts and fresh organic herbs for the bath. There is a working fireplace and we provide seasoned hardwood for it. Guests may enjoy our farm which offers about two miles of woodland trails and abundant wildlife and birds but no domestic animals. NO pets are permitted at the guest house because many guests have allergies to animal dander. In short, it is a place for individuals, couples and families to find ease, to enjoy a bit of peace, quiet, and privacy and to go home refreshed, restored, relaxed. The house is so private it has a shower on the screened porch overlooking the pond. We are a little over an hour from historic Wilmington and several beach resorts, only 30 minutes from Fayetteville with museums, a fine botanical garden, and Fort Bragg, and very close to both I-95 and I-40 interstate highways. This property is unimproved and unmaintained raw natural land. The entire property is surrounded by a farm drainage ditch on all sides, with random farm drainage ditches to insure the land is dry and a 60’ x 60’ old farm irrigation pond (see satellite photo to know where the ditches are located). There is plenty of seasoned raw wood (from when the property was cleared 4 years ago) laying randomly throughout the property to cut and collect for a camp fire. The land is located off a dirt access road that is well maintained by the county. The county dirt road can provide for hours of peaceful riding via mountain bikes. Campers are more then welcome to cut their own path on the land for their campsite. There is a fire pit by the large tree when first entering the property at Entrance 2 (please see photos for the locations of Entrance 1 and 2). Note: This raw land is unmaintained and was last cleared 4 years ago, photos are from April 2022.
