The perfect retreat right on the river, the hosts were great, making us welcome then leaving us to enjoy. Our pup has a new favorite spot to retrieve in the water. And five minutes away Buffet Latino was serving a full Puerto Rican buffet at 9 am! The perfect exit!

It was our first time camping and it was a great experience from the beginning. Mike came to welcome us and show us the place around which was really nice. The space is great, the view is amazing, it’s crazy it’s so close to the actual city and you actually feel far away like others have said already. You can hear the nature, we didn’t see any animals, the river was super nice too. In general a great experience that I would 100% recommend.

Although I only stayed one evening, I absolutely loved my spot at site #3 (actually #4). Motorcycle camping, coming from Florida this was just beautiful site on a hillside with a small creek below and hsd a sunset view of the mountains. John was able to go out and pick up some firewood for me, which was amazing. Extremely friendly and wholesome people, I would be happy to visit again. The gravel road up to the tent sites is a bit steep, but I had no issue traversing it on my street bike with saddle bags in the dry environment. Thank you again, guys!

It was a nice private spot with lots of branches to make a fire. The river is right nearby which is very nice. It is a great camping spot that is very convenient given how close it is to town.

Staying at Camp Dogmoon was an enchanting experience. The camp, situated right on the river, allowed for incredible views of the wildlife. We even heard beaver slaps on our second night. As I was leaving, I made a mistake and got my car stuck in the mud. The camp hosts quickly got me out of the mud and on my way. I would 100% recommend staying at Camp Dogmoon. It is easily one of my favorite campsites I have stayed at so far.

This was my first time using hipcamp. Based on my experience with this trip, not only will I be staying at Moondog again but I'll also be using hipcamp more. The hosts were great. They went above and beyond and provided help and advice whenever possible. They were also quick to respond to any messages. The location is great. You're minutes from stores for last minute essentials and downtown Greenville is a short drive away. You're right on the river and it feels secluded. We were at the far out and the site was clean. There is a hill but anyone moderately fit will have no problem with it and the hosts even helped transport our items with their four wheeler. I would highly recommend this place.

Great spot by the river! Very peaceful and beautiful with the river flowing past. Host greeted us and helped carry some stuff down to the site. It’s very private, but you’re not far from town. We were able to go into Greenville (downtown about 15 minutes away) to walk around town and get lunch and Walmart (5 minutes away) to get some supplies and ice. The river is about a 10 ft drop from the site, so maybe worrisome with kids but it prevented our dog from getting soaking wet. We climbed down for a little swim when it got too warm. Would love to come back!

Luckily, we had the tent camping area all to ourselves. There was a wedding reception going on, but we enjoyed the environment. There were a lot of bird sounds this camping trip, but they calmed down through the night. Bathrooms and showers were great and fully stocked.

Campsite was beautiful! Well water tasted fresh, porta potty was super clean and Blair mentioned he will have a bath house later this year. We loved how spread out the campsites were and felt very private with out own little creek. The creek crossing was mild and stock forester and 4runner had no issues crossing.

Daffodil Bank had plenty of room for our family of 5. 2 tents, 1 single person tent, canopy tent with our folding table plus the camps picnic table, 2 cars, and a couple places for a hammock. All that set up and still have space to move around. The Porta potty was very clean and not far from our site at all. The creek was beautiful. Everyone had a very nice time. So sad we had to leave, but we will definitely be back ♡

You can find hiking, biking, and horseback-riding trails within a short bike or car ride in Pisgah National Forest. Chimney Rock State Park is 25 miles east and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountain scenery. Or perhaps go for a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We will soon be adding Forest Bathing. The frogs eat most of the mosquitos and the fireflies will provide the nightly entertainment from May till August.

It’s 5 miles to the nearest grocery store. Short drive to Table Rock and Paris Mountain State parks, Jocassee , and Keowee Lakes. Close to Blueridge Parkway for Motorcycle rides or hiking. You may borrow our kayaks for our pond. Located on family land granted by King Charles in 1685 we have worked hard to restore and refurbish in a sustainable way, using the trees and supplies from the land that they sit on. Hand crafting doors and furniture the way the family did it 140 plus years ago. The history of this place is deep, even the nails for the cabin and farm house that is now the clubhouse were hand crafted by my great grandfather in his blacksmith shop, along with the wagon wheels, horse shoes, misc farm utensils etc... there was no running out to Lowes to pick up what was needed, it was made in the blacksmith shop. We love riding ATV's and SXS's on the trails on the mountains that I grew up on with my 3 brothers, we hope the people who visit and experience the mountains feel about them the way we do, we love em. We like to give riding tours and talking about the mountain and its challenges. We named the park from the famous product that was created here during prohibition, Cherry Bounce Moonshine. You can visit some of the original still sites on the mountain, of course they are not operational today. About the adventure co side, We are an adrenaline pumping ATV and SXS park with 25+ miles of mountainous trails at four skill levels; Green (Easy), Blue (Challenging), Black Diamond (Very Difficult) and Double Black Diamond (Most Difficult). You can bring your own ATV or SXS or rent one of ours. We have cabins & camp sites that are accessed by ATV or SXS on the mountains as well as hiking or biking. We do not allow jeeps, trucks or dirt bike motorcycles on the mountain, just ATV's and SXS vehicles.

Nero Coffee is a coffee brand based in the mountains on Western North Carolina, so when you camp at Nero Coffee + Camp you can enjoy a great cup of coffee (free coffee in my "coffee shed" on property!) and enjoy a relaxing spot in the mountains. Nero Coffee's mission is to create connection between people through sharing great coffee and conversation outdoors. I started Nero Coffee in 2019 and purchased 6 acres near DuPont State Forest to share my land and create my own coffee campground to continue growing the mission. Update for 2024! Nero Coffee's Camping Spot has three ways to camp. Site 1: Glamping in my custom built (and way too adorable) mini A frame cabin. This cabin is tucked in the rhododendrons for complete privacy. Enjoy the super comfy bed and unique lifting side door to let the outdoors in :) or Site 2: Camping with room for up to 8 guests. There are multiple sites and so much room to spread out for groups up to 8 people. This year I am only opening tent camping for one group at a time so you can experience the mountains in the most peaceful setting. The upper camping area has plenty of flat areas for vans, cars, trucks and tents, and if you don't mind carrying our tent down the hill, the lower creekside camping area is THE PERFECT stargazing spot. There's plenty of room to set up any size tent down there, too. basically, You have the campground to make yourself totally at home. Site 3: Simple Car Camping Spot - Just want a spot to pull over camp for the night close toDuPont State Forest? We can make that happen. No tents allowed here, but it's a peaceful alternative to a cracker barrel parking lot. ----- Once you set up camp feel free to visit the Coffee Shed - It's a small shed on the property by the house that has everything you need to make a great cup of coffee. Coffee is always free. :) I have fire pits, tables an, if I am home, I have a super cute corgi that roams around the property throughout the day. If you spot me outside feel free to say hi or ask any questions about the area. I love helping guests find new places to explore. You will be about 8 minutes to DuPont State Forest (my favorite hiking and biking area) which has miles and miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails. The entrance to Pisgah National Forest is about 15 minutes away as well so it's a convenient drive to visit the forest and drive up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I also own a company that guides "coffee hikes" to local waterfalls in DuPont State forest. You can find more about that in the photo descriptions. :) Please note!! My road up to my driveway is steep and bumpy. It’s only 0.3 miles up but bumpy. You don't need four wheel drive but higher ground clearance is recommended. (I have had small cars make it up but it is a bit intimidating if you are not used to driving in the mountains). if you have a small car just go slow. :) ------- Larger group? Want an indoor bath and shower?? If you are planning a larger group camping retreat and want to book the entire campground (including the main house with indoor shower, restrooms, and full kitchen and spare bedroom) I can make that happen for $500 a night. It's honestly the perfect spot for private, group camping and glamping up to 15 people. Just send me your date request and I will share a link to book if your dates are available.
