Come enjoy 90 acres of lush wilderness, a remote waterfall, multiple creeks, small pond, and petting farm. As you enter the property our donkey and friendly goats (4 babies were born in July) love to eat treats from your hand. We have beautiful views of the blue ridge mountains as well as hiking or biking trails throughout the property that connect into the Pisgah National Forest. We have a covered pavilion perfect for picnicking and fire pit ready for s’mores. Come stay at our brand new tiny cabin- Laurel Ridge- totally secluded with beautiful mountain views .

Weekend Trip to Highland Cow Off-Grid Treehouse

We enjoyed our stay the cabin is beautiful. The host are amazing. The mini Highlands are definitely the favorite of the trip. They enjoyed being groomed and petted and loved on. Look forward to a possible return trip in the spring.

I had a great experience. It was clean, accessible, easy to locate, and safe. I had informed Doug that I would be arriving at night and they had the lights on for me when I arrived, which I greatly appreciated. The view was beautiful, the electrical outlets and rain flies were very helpful and the portopotty very clean. Doug was very responsive to any questions I had as well. I would stay there again and highly recommend.

Wonderful views at a very nice location! Treehouse Lane is very well set up with electricity and the cleanest outdoor potty that I have ever seen. Plenty of water and the covered area offers plenty of space for cooking & sitting around lounging during the day. We set up our tents on either side at the front facing each other & used the center covered area to sit and eat of lay in the hammock and enjoy the spectacular views!

Weekend Trip to Above the Fray Glamping, Black Mtn.

This was a beautiful weekend to spend above the fray! When we arrived water was plentiful and the port-a-John was one of the cleanest. One of my lifetime friends I’ve known since high school had his first camping experience and loved it! Our first night we saw the most beautiful sunset over the mountains and fall foliage did not disappoint. It was magical and breathtaking! Next day we enjoyed the blue ridge parkway and enjoyed a hike at craggy gardens. I have two tents on the larger side but both fit well and we were still able to hang hammocks and have some common space. I hope to be back again soon! Thank you for sharing your beautiful, peaceful, little bit o heaven!

Camping at Doug’s place was great! We brought a 14x10 tent and it fit perfectly with plenty of room to use the table and chairs. We drove a rear wheel drive sedan and made it up the gravel road just fine so don’t be intimidated! The town of Black Mountain is super close by with plenty of shops/food and you’re in a great central location to go to state parks with plenty of hiking opportunities.
