1 night at Campgrounds at Little Switzerland

Super friendly hosts and an excellent shaded campsite with table, chairs and a fire pit. It even had a hammock! What more could you ask for? But wait, there IS more! Access to a hot shower, indoor bathroom. Electric and fresh water just a few steps away as well. I even was able to get a taste of the excellent ciders and brews they make on site. The site itself had good runoff and wood flakes in the tent spot which I was thankful for since it rained hard overnight. I cannot say enough good things about this campsite and hosts. Highly recommended!

Weekend Trip to Broken Oak Riverside Getaway

We really enjoyed our time at Craig’s site! The campsite (2) felt very private. We have three boys ages 16 years to 4 years old and they loved it as well. We also brought our two fur babies. The river is just feet away from the campsite and was perfect for floating. We brought sand toys as well which was perfect for the sandy area. The bathroom was a fantastic plus. Craig was fast to respond with any questions we had. We can’t wait to come back!

3 nights at TangleWood Creekside Campsites

Buckeye Bank was a beautiful campsite right by the creek. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of running water was incredibly peaceful. And it provided a great space for our kiddos to explore while staying cool during the day. We ended up having some stormy weather, which made things a little harder for us novice campers. But even with the rain I would still recommend camping on Blair’s property at the Buckeye Bank site.

1 night at Asheville Area Luxury Solo RV'ing

This was our first Hipcamp experience, and we were blown away by this site. The privacy alone was worth every penny. But then you add in the amenities, and our experience was brought to the next level. Everything was as pictured, and our only surprise was how dry the provided firewood was for our campfire after a dip in the hot tub. We can't wait to come back.

My husband and his brother enjoyed camping for three nights on Vicki’s property. Great campsite, particularly the shower. Close to everything in Brevard! Vicki was a gracious host. There is some road noise, particularly during the day, but it quiets down at night. She does have chickens and a rooster.

Me and the family loved camping here. Fairly large campsites with fire rings and picnic tables. Access to fresh water and showers. Toilets are porta John’s. I would recommend to anyone looking to just get away and relax. Not a lot to do for kids but otherwise it’s great!

Weekend Trip to Tellurian Family Campground

TFC is a great spot! Jud was very welcoming and accommodating and the views from the top are next level. We had visited South Mountains State Park a few times previously and it's great considering how close it is to the Charlotte area. But TFC has even better views of the South Mountains and a pretty awesome river to play in. 30 min from several foothills towns worth exploring. Very easy camper hookup, nice flat spots, and a great facility with bathrooms and some extra seating for the great views. Thanks, Jud and family!

Weekend Trip to Tellurian Family Campground

We spent 2 nights at Site 5 and had a great experience! From the start, Jud stopped by to ensure we got settled in and made sure we didn’t have any questions. His hospitality during the entire stay exceeded anywhere I’ve been. There is a done of stuff to do, e.g. explore/hike, fish, kayak. The views when you wake up in the morning are great and the light pollution is non existent.

Weekend Trip to Starlight Hills

My friends and I all had a great time staying at campsite 6! There was plenty of space for us to spread out the 3 tents we brought and have room for our vehicles as well. I was easily able to drive up to the campsite in my smaller car. The portapotty was only a short walk from the campsite. Having running water not directly at the campsite but being able to refill our water jugs was very helpful. Our group also booked thes spa which was a great daytime activity. Even with 7 of us we all had fun. The tiki torch rental was also a great add on and a fun surprise for the others in my group. The hikes to the nearby overlook and creek were short but well worth. We hope to return to campsite 6 in years to come!

Weekend Trip to Riverside Camping on the Farm

Absolutely loved Northern h River farms #2 campsite on south Mills River rd. We had a huge surprise birthday party for my dad and had 20-30 ppl there we all were super comfortable and had so much space. We e did not camp out instead had a family cook out cleaned up and went home. However we f ll on love and plan to camp out for the weekend. Candace and the north river farm was awesome. I love I’ll definitely be back and will 100%campsite there again in the near future.

3 nights at Broken Oak Riverside Getaway

Loved the quietness and the feeling of being totally remote being do close to Greenville. It was perfect for friends to be able to come up for the day to enjoy the river with us, but allowed us to still be "camping". The facilities are just a described and the hosts are great communicators. We will be back.

The site's first appeal is the amazing view of Bull Mountain Ridge. Beautiful all year long, but particularly in late October when the leaves are in their richest colors. The site is roomy for small to mid-sized RVs and offers a private water hook-up, 30 amp, and 20 amp power outlets. It feels private and tucked away, but is very accessible to all of what the Asheville area has to offer. Downtown is a 15 minute drive; ride services and shuttles are both easy to secure and quite affordable. Additional parking is available for a fee. The backdrop of the site is forested and easy to relax in - the understory is maintained for guest use, providing cooling shade with a stunning view. I usually try to say hello to folks and make sure they get settled in alright, but let me know if you'd prefer just to come in and have privacy. Don't feel the need to come to the house unless you can't get a hold of me via text and you need assistance. The Sites are situated far enough from each other to allow for privacy. Our land was originally where the Cherokee grew their medicine with Mt. Pisgah looking over us. Please be aware we are not completely cleared up after Hurricane Helene so we are limiting cars to 2 per site. There is parking about a mile away, or we can fit a 2 cars per site . If this is an issue please contact me to discuss. Also note we look a little different. The campsites are fine but the creek has changed its banks and the driving path moved a little. Please drive slowly on driveway and grounds. Drones are only allowed on our property and only in daylight hours and must be discussed with us prior. Our farm is Organic and we minimize the amount of chemicals used on it out of respect to the land. The creek has clean water, although we provide well water for the humans. Situated 20 minutes from Asheville and 2 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, we are close to civilization and far from the everyday hustle and bustle. This is a great place to unwind in nature. We will soon be adding Forest Bathing. The frogs eat most of the mosquitos and the fireflies will provide the nightly entertainment from May till August.

Quiet Troublesome Gap

My parents bought the 120 acre property in the 1960s. I started clearing and building the campsite in 2019. Watch the sun rise on one side of Troublesome Gap and watch it set on the other side. There is a circle drive for 2 teardrop / squaredrop or pop up campers and plenty of spots to pitch tents. There are also great spots to hang your hammock. Camp where my family camps. My parents bought the property in the 1960s and we have camped up here, hiked, hunted, and cut firewood many weekends. We decided to share the property so you can enjoy camping up here too! The property is in a remote location where you can enjoy the wildlife and the cooler temps in the summer. You'll have 3 acres all to yourself. You wont have to share the spot with anyone else unless you bring them. The closest grocery store is an hour away but the Trust General Store with a restaurant and gas approximately is 7 miles away. There is also a burger joint (Dave's 209) on the way to the Trust General Store. This camping site is in a remote area and the nearest neighbor about 1/2 mile away. Max Patch is about 25 minutes away and features beautiful hiking. The quaint town of Marshall is about 30 minutes away. Asheville is about an hour away. The campsite is easily accessible from Baltimore Branch Road. However Baltimore Brand Road (public road) is steep in places and we don't recommend an RV bigger than a popup camper. If you are pulling a trailer you'll really want to consider having 4wd. If you aren't used to driving on steep dirt mountain roads, you may want to bring your 4wd vehicle. If you have a 2wd vehicle, then you'll want to come to the site via Big Pine Road. This route will take you through Walnut, NC We also provide a porta-a-john for your convenience. Once the reservation is made, I'll send out an info sheet with important info like the gate combination. Please let me know if you haven't received the info sheet within a week of making the reservation. The inclusion policy below is from HipCamp corporate. Our policy is much simpler. Be respectful to others and the property and have a good time. This is a campsite where have the whole 3.5 acre property to yourself. You are surrounded by properties that vary from 40 acres to over a hundred acres. You are with the people in your campsite and pretty much no one else. We just want you to have a great time and bring home great stories. It seems like every visitor to Troublesome Gap has a great story. Come camp with us and build your own story. Important Note: Water is only available on the site from May through September. If you camp on the site Oct through April, you'll need to bring your own water. There is a camera on the property. It faces the gate (and away from the campsite). The camera is mounted on the apple tree.

On-Site Amenities: we provide a clean porta-potty and running water that is spring fed. We ask that you follow "Leave-No-Trace" procedures during your stay. Off-Site Amenities: If you choose to explore the area : we are a 10 minute drive from I-40 Exit 24. Asheville is 45 minutes away; Waynesville is 25 minutes away. Presnell's Grocery (highly recommended, family-owned store that sells locally farmed products) is 10 minutes away from the property entrance. The Ingles supermarket in Canton is a 15 minute drive. You will find every kind of fast food in that area. There are also several excellent local dining options in Canton, Clyde, and Waynesville which we are happy to recommend to you by request.

Two porta-potties are on the farm and private porta-potties are available for rent. Groups of eight or more are required to rent a porta potty should you not bring your own toilet system with you. We do not allow the use of our small wooded areas as toilets. Please review the Extras options as we offer river lifts, firewood and dog stays; thank you! Quiet hours are from 10pm to 9am. After years of looking all over the mountains for a river property we could call our own, our favorite spot on the river came up for sale. It just so happened it was nearly halfway between where we both grew up. After many sleepless nights worrying if we could succeed or not (it was much larger than properties we had been looking for), we bought it! Our favorite spot on the river was virtually inaccessible by any way other than floating. But after hundreds of hours of hard work, we think we have developed a place where others too can enjoy the things we do about the property. We are proud to offer year-round access to our beautiful grounds. At Park Place RV Park, we provide high-speed Wi-Fi for your convenience, allowing you to stay connected during your stay. Our park features 48 level sites, all equipped with full hookups. Of these, 47 are pull-through sites, each measuring 65 feet in length and 25 feet in width. You'll find excellent access for both DSS and DISH network satellite reception from every site, ensuring you can enjoy your favorite shows while surrounded by nature. A darling of Western North Carolina, Lake Lure is loved by family RV campers, mountain enthusiasts, and fans of the movie “Dirty Dancing.” (Yes, it was purported to take place in the Catskills, but the movie was filmed on Lake Lure.) It can be tough to find a place to park the RV right on the lake, which is developed with resort hotels and spas, but just minutes away from its glassy shores are Hipcamp RV sites and private campgrounds home to open meadows and hilly trails with wild blackberries and blueberries growing on the slopes. RVers can also look out for pet-friendly RV sites with picnic tables, hot shower facilities, farm animals, tall trees offering shade on hot North Carolina days, and perhaps even lake access and boat ramps.
