The creek in front of the property is available for use. Great for soaking when the weather gets hot and it's shallow enough to just bring a folding chair. Fish? Yes, there are some trout in there. Flies work best. Got kids? Build a dam! Go for a creek walk! Great hiking at the end of Wesser Creek Road. There is a trail by the creek and a fire tower with great view about 4.5 miles up that trail. Water source (spring) is available at the top. Follow the blue blaze. The white blazes at the top tell you you're on the Appalachian Trail. Take a side hike to Maine!
Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) is just down the road on 19/74. Rafting, zip lines, a ropes course, mountain biking... good food by the river, a bar, public restrooms... the works. They often have music by the river on the weekends.
This land was once a hillside farm, after it was first logged early in the last century. They used to grow corn all over the hillside, then let the cows up there to graze and eat up the stalks. If you look closely, you might find some barbed wire in an old oak here and there.

- Bath House: The restored bathhouse is split into boys’ and girls’ sides. Each side has 2 private showers, 4 flushing toilets, sinks, hot water, and gas heat.
- Community Pavilion: The Pavilion is a large 40x30 ft. open sided structure overlooking the Nantahala River. It has an ample fireplace, running water sink, counter space, couches, and table with benches.
- Pack Room: Where the adventure begins! A cozy hub where all guests get local information, view maps, and grab some local seasonal groceries. Also available to all campers are washing sinks with hot water, toaster oven and microwave.
- Communication: Or rather, lack thereof! There's no cell service on the property so it's a great time to get away from it all. There is limited Wi-Fi available near the Pack Room and an emergency landline available.
- Charging: Traveling in an electric vehicle? Recharge for free at our dedicated EV 50amp outlet when you stay at any of our sites. First come, first served.

We have a beautiful 4 bathroom bathhouse, with ADA shower and another bathroom with clawfoot tub/shower and private back deck. 2 large firepits with Andirondack chairs and a separate picnic table and grill area. There is a large communal Yoga/Event deck and covered Bar/Hangout area beneath - hammock, bar top, darts and it's own firepit as well. Plus Corn hole and Horseshoe pits for your enjoyment.

Coweeta Creek Campground is a charming small "boutique" campground nestled along Coweeta Creek in the heart of an Otto rural neighborhood. Each RV site is gravel, shaded, and sits along the peaceful Coweeta Creek. The campground property has a large field for games (kickball, soccer, volleyball), as well as a flat 1/4 mile loop which you can view our mini homestead farm. We have chickens, bees, vegetable gardens, and a small fruit orchard. Turkey Foot Trail is a 1/2 mile trail that takes you through the wooded area to the peak of the property.
The campground is only 15 minutes from Franklin, NC and 20 minutes from Clayton, GA with plenty of shopping/restaurants. Once you are at the campground you won't want to leave the beauty of the creek!
Strong Wifi is available at all sites. Network password will be provided before arrival.
Property History: Coweeta Creek Campground WAS a 20 site, thriving, family/church oriented campground from the 1970's that was later sold, then neglected. My family purchased in 2022 and opened a few camping sites for a more family friendly, intimate setting.

The creek in front of the property is available for use. Great for soaking when the weather gets hot and it's shallow enough to just bring a folding chair. Fish? Yes, there are some trout in there. Flies work best. Got kids? Build a dam! Go for a creek walk! Great hiking at the end of Wesser Creek Road. There is a trail by the creek and a fire tower with great view about 4.5 miles up that trail. Water source (spring) is available at the top. Follow the blue blaze. The white blazes at the top tell you you're on the Appalachian Trail. Take a side hike to Maine!
Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) is just down the road on 19/74. Rafting, zip lines, a ropes course, mountain biking... good food by the river, a bar, public restrooms... the works. They often have music by the river on the weekends.
This land was once a hillside farm, after it was first logged early in the last century. They used to grow corn all over the hillside, then let the cows up there to graze and eat up the stalks. If you look closely, you might find some barbed wire in an old oak here and there.

- Communication: Or rather, lack thereof! There's no cell service on the property so it's a great time to get away from it all. There is limited Wi-Fi available near the Pack Room and an emergency landline available.

We have chickens, bees, vegetable gardens, and a small fruit orchard. Turkey Foot Trail is a 1/2 mile trail that takes you through the wooded area to the peak of the property.
The campground is only 15 minutes from Franklin, NC and 20 minutes from Clayton, GA with plenty of shopping/restaurants. Once you are at the campground you won't want to leave the beauty of the creek!

Property History: Coweeta Creek Campground WAS a 20 site, thriving, family/church oriented campground from the 1970's that was later sold, then neglected. My family purchased in 2022 and opened a few camping sites for a more family friendly, intimate setting.

Wonderful! Beautiful! Quite! Private! We had the best stay here!! The site is near the road, but the traffic is so minimal it's not a problem at all. It's tucked up to the side of the mountain. You can here the creek from the site! There is a rather large area to utilize. The pottery barn was fun to peruse, we took a few pieces with us. Doug does beautiful work.
The property is very near the Little Tennessee River. We went multiple times. It's also about an hour from Cherokee, the South entrance to the Smokey Mountain Parkway, as well as the Smokey Mountains National Park.
Just south is Highlands, where there are many waterfalls to explore. There's an endless number of things to do in this area!
As great as the site is, the hosts are even better!! Two of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Very accommodating, very concerned that there guests have what they need, including privacy. We'll be going back to see Patti & Doug!
We have a 30' class C. I'm relatively new to RV life, and am not accustomed to the quick elevation, curvy mountain roads. I found the Tellico Bridge Road was a little more comfortable than Iolta Church Road. I had no problem with the driveway or parking spot. I was able to turn around on the upper level without any problems. It might be a little tight for larger rigs. The hookups are great too. 50amp, extra long hose already hooked up & available for use. Our cat & dog enjoyed being offleash & loved our hosts too!! ❤️

Great camp host and site near the creek. Very serene and soothing. Would definitely visit again. The "bath house" is a trailer where you can access only the small very dated bathroom. However, it does the job.

2 nights at Secluded Waterfall Haven
This was the perfect getaway! Beautiful property, gated and private and surrounded by gorgeous waterfalls. It rained all night and into the morning but we were able to enjoy our morning coffee from underneath the covering.

Friendly host. Clear instructions. Very clean port-a-john available at the bottom of the hill. We stayed at spot 1. If you have a dog I’d probably recommend any site except for this once since this is the only one with direct view of the hosts yard and my dog really wanted to play with theirs 😂. But other than that a great little stop on our trip!

We love DeeDee’s land! This is our second time here, and it’s even better than I remembered. It’s extremely beautiful. The waterfalls, gathering areas, big boulders, and plenty of flat ground for tents. Our group had a great time, we’ll be back again.

Just perfect. Peaceful, lovely river, mountain view. I've never been to a better campsite for ppl who like privacy and peacefulness. There's a clean outhouse for all those needs. There's a bit of road noise when a motorcycle drives past, but it's mostly drowned out by the babbling river. The only difficulty is that the sites are a bit slanted so you need to make sure you set up your tent with head on the high side. We'll be back.

This was our first hip camp experience. We’ve camped at a few campgrounds. The hosts were very helpful and gracious. The stream was loving and we drove down the road alongside the little Tennessee river. We grill with our attached grill and sat outside to eat dinner and the crackers and cheese that were provided upon getting there. Really good a nice choice. Doug’s pottery area has some beautiful and amazing pieces. If I weren’t working to be a minimalist I’d have love to have some American made works of art done through and labor of love. Most things you buy nowadays are cheap pallets of junk. This art created with skilled hands from the soul. Patti helped me with a road that took us beside the river and we stopped at multiple places. We did see a mink but I couldn’t snap the picture quick enough. We stayed Wed through Friday morning. We got there late Wednesday because my husband was new ice climbing up and making all the small turns. Our rig was a 28 ft long (travel trailer ). We went to tallulah gorge on Thursday. Check to ask if there are any fires as aged we were in and hour the smoke became suffocating. They never put the planned fires on the county website. Waterfalls were beautiful and the goats on the roof has been revamped and pretty awesome. Overall I highly recommend this place to stay. May God bless you Patti and Doug

The area is as beautiful and peaceful as ever. The pottery shop is a must see. Doug is a master pottery craftsman and you’ll fall in love with all his work.

We just got a camper and chose Patti and Doug’s site for our first trip. Best choice ever! The land was beautiful and private and exactly as pictured. Patti and Doug were the nicest hosts - bringing us cheese and crackers when we arrived and letting us borrow an electrical adapter. Our dog had the best time exploring the property with us. We will definitely be back!

Though the Pine ridge road area is beautiful, it’s crowded. Skip this and go to the sites around Joyce Kimmel Rd for a more beautiful & secluded experience.

Sites are well spread out and private. Some road noise but cannot see the vehicles. Lake views are gorgeous. I just wish fellow campers would clean up after themselves. Too much human waste not buried and busted garbage bags left on sites. Must clean up before using. Still a beautiful area. Peaceful.

We have been RV camping for sometime...small trailer mind you but fits everywhere.
Really beautiful lake and clean. Please note you must reserve in advance! If you love mountains, clean lakes in a beautiful area this is for you. Also, I want to note ticks are really bad in mountains spring, summer and early fall so take precaution. Have fun and we are going back in September for more fun. Happy camping..

This is my all time favorite campground. My family has been visiting this campground since my grandfather was a Forest Ranger in the area in the 1960's. The icy headwaters of the Nantahala River run through the campground, this is a popular summer tubing spot for campers.

This is a quiet, lesser known camping area hidden back in the woods. There is a nice little stream with large trout and a bear sanctuary so hopefully an opportunity to safely see some bears.

There is good trout fishing. Plenty of fresh water and firewood along the trail. Great waterfalls and very scenic.

There are two rustic cabins/shelters you can rent that give you the most secluded spot in the campground where you can pull up your kayak or canoe for the night. You need to reserve months in advance, but its worth it. The only good tent sites are on a first-come-first-served basis, so risky to assume you can get one. The reserved tent sites are all right next to the road and not secluded at all.

I have camped there for several years in June. The campground is well maintained, but bring your own toilet paper and shower tent.. The three hydrants provide good water. Only once was a neighboring group too rowdy after midnight, and I had to go and have a talk with them. Fontana Lake is beyond beautiful in that area, with wilderness on both sides. It is directly across the lake for Hazel Creek, the nicest flat water paddle I have ever done.

Go early to get a spacious site. If you don't care about space, you will probably always find a site in the off season. It does get busier in the warmer weather but the sites are well spaced. There's a nearby hike to a waterfall that is mediocre. I would suggest going somewhere else to hike but the camping is great and free!

Absolutely beautiful! Panthertown Valley is great because once you backpack in, you won't see many others! Make sure to bring a bear bag and hang your food away from your campsite!!! The bears are around here :). Also, be cautious crossing the river if you have any open cuts/scrapes or disinfect immediately.

Panthertown Valley is one of my favorite places in Western North Carolina to backpack and fish! Miles of backcountry trails are open year round to the public at no cost. The views atop the exposed rock faces are very picturesque are worthy of bringing a camera along. If you decide to camp here be sure to bring a bear bag and hang your food! This is a bear sanctuary so there are quite a few in the area.
When you get off the beaten path and follow any of the small streams running through the wilderness area you are likely to find the native Southern Appalachia Brook Trout in these high elevation streams. If you decide to wet a line please keep in mind that the streams in Panthertown Valley are designated as catch and release only!
