My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked up and you still want to camp, look him up. His is better suited for small groups but has much more privacy. We have a new road to the campsite; you can now drive down with two-wheel drive vehicle or RV down and park near your tent! There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, large amounts of rain can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add, this is not a completely private campsite deep in the woods. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will spend a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view also. Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Glamping tents and additional camping tents are available through a local company. Look in the pictures for the tent with red, white, and blue balloons. Message me for details. Close to US National Whitewater Center (mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (Horseback riding and history), Crowders Mountain (Hiking), 3 miles off of I-85 and US-321 for people passing through.

46mi from Huntersville · 7 sites · Tents, RVs
Tellurian Family Campground offers conveniently located spacious travel trailer, camper, RV and tent camp sites with incredible views and access to a pristine mountain river. The property consists of 93 acres and 2780 feet (1⁄2 mile) of river frontage on the First Broad River. The First Broad River offers canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and fishing. Smallmouth and freshwater sunfishing is incredible on this stretch of the river and there are also opportunities for mountain river catfish. Tellurian’s scenic location offers stunning vista views of the surrounding countryside, sprawling views of the South Mountain and Cherry Mountain ranges, as well as long range views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The sunsets are amazing and the star lit skies are uninhibited by city lights. One of the few lights that can be seen at night lights up a steeple silhouetted against the mountain ridges. It’s truly a peaceful site. Tellurian is centrally located between Charlotte NC, Asheville NC, and Spartanburg SC in the small town of Casar, NC. We are located in a rural setting in the foothills on the edge of the South Mountains Range, a branch of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Thank you for checking out our place! We are Jud and Amanda Wortman. We have three children – Emma Grace and Baxter (twins) and Elena Jo. As a family, we enjoy canoeing, kayaking and camping. We live 9 miles from Tellurian on a family farm. We have always enjoyed quiet secluded campsites, river floats and sitting by the river. After years of looking all over the mountains for a river property we could call our own, our favorite spot on the river came up for sale. It just so happened it was nearly halfway between where we both grew up. After many sleepless nights worrying if we could succeed or not (it was much larger than properties we had been looking for), we bought it! Our favorite spot on the river was virtually inaccessible by any way other than floating. But after hundreds of hours of hard work, we think we have developed a place where others too can enjoy the things we do about the property. We dream big and Tellurian remains a work in progress, but we feel we have created a place where folks can enjoy the peacefulness of nature, the river and incredible views. Naming our campground proved to be one of the most challenging tasks throughout the process of developing it. After many ideas and brainstorming sessions as a family, we decided to go with Tellurian. We know it’s a bit different; that’s what we like about it. We think our place stands out and, after visiting Tellurian, we think you’ll agree it does too. Tellurian Family Campground tel·lu·ri·an [təˈlo͝orēən] ADJECTIVE: of or inhabiting the earth. NOUN: an inhabitant of the earth.

Currently, we have our 27-ft camper set up near the road for lodging, with plenty of private and convenient parking, as well as a small walk-in campsite at the bottom of the property near our peaceful creek. The property is a big hill, so be prepared for a workout if you’re here to camp. We live on a quiet street, so please be respectful of our neighbors—they are older folks. We’re looking forward to having you! COMING SOON: An RT Dome Retreat (clear and open with curtains) featuring a bed and bathroom, pet ducks, fishing and hunting, and so much more in the future. Located in Uwharrie National Forest, the New Forest features open meadows among stands of pine and mixed hardwoods. Campsites are far apart, each unique and offer the opportunity to commune with nature, and experience camping like it should be, emersed in nature with the opportunity to disconnect from the trappings of our modern, hectic world. This area is one of the richest archeological areas in the entire southeast United States. The location of the first real gold rush, and rich in folklore and bootlegging history, old homesteads and family graveyards are scattered among the hills. Old roadbeds and logging trails abound in the 800 acres of Uwharrrie National Forest directly adjacent to the New Forest Property making for miles of hiking opportunities, wildlife viewing, birdwatching. A 3/4 mile hike to the Taylor Family graveyard is marked with ribbons to guide you to one of the of the many family graveyards. *** A new fun feature for kids is the introduction of our dear friend Debbie Beasley"s art to the trails here in the New Forest. Scattered along the many trails are rocks painted by the one and only Debbie Beasley with cute fluorescent/3-D scenes of nature. Children can keep them as souvenirs from their New Forest camping adventure, or enjoy them while here then re-hide them for other children to find. ❤️ Come see for yourself. If you are looking for a modern, crowded campground this isn't it. However if you want a beautiful, rustic experience in nature, with a few basic amenities and with access to Uwharrie National Forest come see what others have enjoyed so much.

Before the Kerr Scott Reservoir was built, in the 40's and 50's, this neighborhood was a local swimming hole and vacation area. Public buses came from neighboring communities so people could boat, swim, camp, and picnic. While we don't have access to the pond, our part of this land still is calling out to people, 'Come, rest, unload your burdens, and find peace.' When we started this project with Hipcamp, we didn't fully realize that we were reconnecting with the history on this property. So, come, take your shoes off, and wade in the creek. Read a book while laying in a hammock. Sit by the fire and chat with family and friends. Come and participate in our little homesteading project, and leave your burdens behind. LOCAL ACTIVITIES: To the west is the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is 30 minutes away. 15 minutes away is Kerr Scott Dam where you can rent kayaks, pontoon boats, as well as other sporting equipment. Fish, go mountain biking on the extensive trails, and hiking. Prayer Mountain is right up the road, about 2 miles away. Heading east, you can find several fine wineries andvineyards that you can visit. There is also a moonshine distillery in town. About a half hour away is an Amish community that has several businesses open to the public, including the Shiloh Bakery and General Store. They are closed on Sunday and Monday. To the northeast, about 45 minutes away, is Stone Mountain. Absolutely fantastic hiking, it is also an old homestead that has been renovated and is open to the public. To the south, there is Rocky Face Park, where there is hiking and rock climbing. Nearby, is Emerald Hollow Mine, where you can go and find, and keep, precious stones you find in the nearby river. There is also a great disk course course, Highland Hills Disc Golf Course, one of the top 25 in the country. There is fun for all ages. Merlefest, the last weekend of April, is a world class Bluegrass festival, is located right in our town. Be sure to look at the activities section below for additional information.

My property consists of a ridge running east to west with the access road running along the south border.  the land slopes up to the ridge for about 300 feet, and then down to the river for about 800 feet.  The south side of the ridge has a small pond close to the road.  The rest is pasture, and an orchard and small vineyard.  The north side of the ridge is old growth timber, and shady and cool.  The two cabins are along the river.  One is perched on a ridge over looking the river and the other is right on the river.  The swimming hole is 30 feet from the lower cabin.  There is room for a couple campsites along the river also.  The south side of the ridge was a cotton farm decades ago, but was covered in timber when I bought it 12 years ago.  The north side has been in timber for the known history of the property.

This property is 180 acres of woods and mountains with streams and ponds. Beautiful settings. If you like hiking in the mountains this will definitely hit the spot. YO can fish in the ponds it has blue gills and catfish. I also added grass carp there as part of weed management. This used to be an abandoned farm which I want to bring back to life. The site offers three luxury large Safari Style Tents and 4 Pioneer wagons. All tents are far away from each other to provide privacy and freedom of going Wild (still remaining civilized in your manners and careful attitude to Nature around you). Tent 1 is in the Forrest itself and it is pretty cook and serene. Tent 2 is on the top of a rocky hill overlooking the forest. Tent 3 is the most remote and closest to the ponds. It has most of the open space around it, and can be a great place for parties. We are working on making the sites and the area more comfortable, but I do not want to make it a manicured park. I want it to remain wild and still offer comfortable stay. The farm is work in progress. Eventually it will be an Ostrich farm. and have other animals too. The closest town - Lenoir is about 12 miles away . Closest Grocery store (Dollar General) - about 3 miles away. Closest Gas station - 2 miles away. Professional Tennis court, Basketball court and large kids playground are in a public park within - 5 minute drive. Lenoir has restaurants, shopping, etc. Hickory is a larger town about 25 minutes drive. Hickory Lake is a large reservoir with marina where you can rent a boat and it also offers a good game fishing. Nice swimming beach access on Lake Hickory 13 miles ( 20 Minutes) from here: Lake Hickory Wittenburg access area (Wittenburg Access Area, 175 Wildlife Access Rd, Hickory, NC 28601) Asheville is 1:25 hrs to the West, Charlotte is 1:25 hr to the East. Welcome to Creekside FarmCreekside Farm is a place where you can slow down and enjoy things you might not normally notice. We are glad you are Here.We invite you to sit back, take your shoes off, and breathe deeply as you read this – slowly.Creekside is very special place where you, and those important to you can unplug and gently "be" with eachother. My wife Beth and I fell in love with this property because it has a unique way of calling us out of our busy livesand into a meaningful space of connection with our senses, each other and those we care about. We hope youhave the chance to experience this on your visit. In my work as a leadership consultant and executive coach I've had the opportunity to find a few "bestpractices" for a meaningful experience of life. I offer them to you below should you want to try them out duringyour visit. I promise they will impact your time here - and your time when you leave here - tremendously:Being and DoingSometimes it’s just fine to sit down and not do anything.Experience and CaptureSometimes you don’t need to capture an experience, just experience it.Quality and QuantitySometimes quality of life is more satisfying than quantity of life. Maybe less is more.Sensing and ThinkingSometimes thinking is overrated. Sitting still and sensing what is right in front of us can be eye-opening.Silence and NoiseSometimes saying nothing says everything. Turning off the phones and devices and listening to the nature’ssounds can further awaken and resensitize us.Below you will find information about this special place. It includes invitations, requests and details about howthings work here at the farm.We invite you...1. To use your time here to nourish your Self, Spirit and Body. Walk, breathe, smell, touch, see, and taste whatyou desire.2. To put away your phones and devices and be with the people you are here with.3. To remove your shoes when in the home and feel the floor under your feet.4. To be outside whenever you can. There is goodness out there. Go anywhere you want on property, it isbordered by the creek.5. To eat slowly, talk slowly, walk slowly and just hang.

RockTree has it all—hills, a pond, a creek, and tons of wildlife, thanks to the many bird habitats on the property. You’ll see cardinals, woodpeckers, hawks, finches, squirrels, and even deer and coyotes have been spotted. It’s beautiful, peaceful, and private. There’s a 1/4-acre track that loops around the property and can be biked, walked, or ridden on our four-wheelers. We love people, and hospitality is our gig! Come along on our journey as we make this an unforgettable experience for everyone who visits.

There are couple of Ski resorts 45 minutes to an hr away.
