We carved our 43 acre horse farm out of wild swampy land in 2007 and finished the barndeminium in 2008. We started with Hipcamp 6 years ago and enjoy meeting new people. My husband is retired from the Air Force and works full time doing the chores. I retired May 2024 from being a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner at Womack Army Medical Center. I have a side hobby making homemade jams, pickles and flavored goat cheese spreads. We love the peacefulness of where we live...although the weather chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea fowl, peacocks, goats and horses do get a little loud come feeding time. We have different sites, please read each description or message me before you book a stay. All the sites have an 8pm latest check in unless you've stayed with us before. With the cold snap we have been experiencing the RV water source will freeze up over night. Please message me before booking the RV. We are constantly looking for ways to upgrade or make our farm more fun to visit.

Mandy's place is very comfortable - she has put a lot of thought into providing more than essentials - table, lights, hammock, and more. The campsite is flat, with trees. The directions were clear and Mandy was very responsive. All in all, we would stay here again and recommend it highly.

Johnson Farm was one of those stays that reminds you how good simple life can be.
From the moment we arrived, it felt less like checking into a campsite and more like being welcomed onto someone’s land. The host even came out with his adorable daughter to show us around the farm and tell us about the property. That kind of hospitality sets the tone immediately.
Our campsite sat right next to the cow pasture and overlooking the lake. They had Adirondack chairs set up along with a 5 gallon jug of water, firewood, and marshmallow sticks waiting for us. Thoughtful touches like that make the experience even better.
The cows quickly became our favorite part. Every time we arrived they would wander over to the fence looking for attention. Before long we were petting them like old friends.
The evening was incredible. Sitting under the stars listening to the sounds of the farm was something special. Frogs, crickets, cows in the pasture, and the quiet of the countryside.
Fair warning though. There is also a rooster who apparently believes 2 AM is the correct time to start the morning announcements. His cock a doodle doo launched me upright from my sleeping bag thinking I had overslept.
What made the stay even more meaningful was learning the story behind the farm. The owner is a U.S. Army veteran and he and his wife always dreamed of raising their kids on a farm when they retired. Now they are living that dream.
I have a lot of respect for that. We can't wait to return !

Michelle’s campground is a beautiful property. It was very clean, peaceful, and quiet. All the other campers were friendly and excellent neighbors. Everyone was respectful of everyone else’s privacy and space (which protected the overall vibe of the place) while still be kind and friendly. Overall the property is clean and extremely well-maintained. I enjoyed the trails for walking with my dogs, and they enjoyed getting to see the various animals. At night, it was dark and silent - which was so refreshing. Michelle herself met me when I arrived and was very helpful and so nice. I had an excellent experience and will definitely plan for this to be my go-to spot when I am in the area!

Great little camp spot. Came here in January. One side of the road has a beautiful field and great sunsets. It’s close to a lot of great surrounding areas, I highly recommend going into the old downtowns of Fuquay Varina, the Mason Lager Company Brewery was a fantastic place to visit and hang out. I hear their separate restaurant in the downtown is top notch as well. Owners were very nice and helpful.

Ian was helpful with directions and had the tent and firewood set up for our arrival. Loved the seclusion and privacy. Enjoyed seeing a beaver, a large red-tailed hawk and deer, and hearing coyotes, woodpeckers, and owls. The perfect spot for viewing the meteor shower since the site is dark and has a great view of the night sky. It was it was a bit of a walk from the parking to the site, so if you are bringing a lot of stuff and have to make multiple trips, it may be a challenge. Overall a wonderful experience that we will likely book again.
