Please respect our land by not bringing firewood from off-site and burning it here. We are a working farm that allows camping, not a campground. Our native trees and crops could easily be devastated by outside diseases or pests that are carried in firewood. We offer firewood for sale from our farm (delivered to your site for no additional fee). You do NOT have to purchase it prior to your arrival, and we have large tubs too!
Our STORE offers firewood, meats, eggs, Tallow, lard (both rendered right here!), drinks, Amish ice cream and jams/jellies/preserves, hammocks, hammock chairs, smoked dog bones, soaps (made right here), rentals of: cast iron cookware, a tent, Coleman stove, fishing poles, ... and MUCH MORE!
Please note that all our sites are reserved with a one vehicle limit. Some sites are large enough to accommodate additional vehicles but each additional vehicle will incur a $10 per night charge. Free parking for additional vehicles is located at the office/store.
Looking for a camping experience with a little luxury to boot? Look no further than our Oasis at Harmon Creek Farms! You can drive right up to most sites, weather permitting. You will have access to a fire ring and picnic table (located at each site), firewood for sale on site (please do not bring firewood from off-site), clean well water (located near the pond), the creek to explore, our stocked pond to fish, and wooded trails to hike. Once roamed by Native Americans and now farmed by the same family for over 6 generations, Harmon Creek Farm is a working farm of over 160 acres. Peace, quiet, tranquility and privacy are overflowing along the creek, and hiking throughout the hills on the backside of the farm (and on the other side of the creek) leads to interesting and abundant flora and fauna. The stocked, spring fed pond is 'brimming" with angler challenges🎣

Canter Lakes Farm offers waterfront camping on 47 acres. We are a private horse farm with beautiful swimming lakes and river access on site via “Sand Hill Creek”
At canter lakes farm you can explore over 10 acres of water without ever leaving our property, and hike almost 3 miles of manicured trails here! If you’re an early riser you can witness the magnificent steam rolling in over the lakes, creek and cypress swamp while you sip your coffee at sunrise. Bring your paddle boards and cruise, or warm up with sunny yoga on your private dock. Kayak or John boats can explore the river bends from our property, or even make it out to the big wide cape fear.
We are very close to two public boat ramps suitable for larger boats and jet skis. Holly Shelter boat ramp is literally 2 minutes away, Shelter Creek boat ramp is 10 minutes away. Both ramps have a fishing area and allow kayaks/paddle boards.
Fishing is good on our ponds and the river year round, (bass, catfish, crappie, bowfin, gar, etc) in June hundreds of wild blueberry plants you can pick and eat. We also have prickly pear cacti for harvesting which you can cook the fruit and paddles over the fire and enjoy. If our trails aren’t enough and you want more adventure, just two miles away is the Holly Shelter game lands entrance where you’ll find thousands of acres for hunting, biking, hiking or horseback riding. And if you’re craving a beach day, Wrightsville beach is just a 30 minute drive away as well as is downtown Wilmington where you can enjoy walking the riverfront for shopping or dining.
Stargazing galore! Surrounding the property is privately owned country land- this is a phenomenal place to be amazed by the stars.
Photography lovers will be in heaven from the sunrises and sunsets golden hour is magical here! And with the diverse landscape there’s always something to capture.
Tent camping or dry rv camping only at this time. Hot Shower, sink and full size toilet are provided in the bath house. No feeding of the horses allowed, or entering fencing. campers are welcome to visit or partake in farm experience with permission.

Our farm is vast and sparse,
focusing on sustainability while giving back to the community. We are a safe haven for animals and humans alike.
Situated on and between two peaks of Little Phoenix Mountain range in Jefferson Ashe County. Our sites’ altitudes range from 3100 feet to over 3600 feet, which is a lot of slope and hillside to say the least. As a guest you will be offered insane long views and limited exposure to the oldest registered breed of bovine in the world. Our Scottish Highland Cattle are majestic and fit in quite well in the NC mountainside. Located in the Blue Ridge mountains, we have natural water springs popping out, some of which are tapped to drink from. (10.1.23 currently farm springs are not accessible to guests, shatley springs up the road approx 4miles north has a public spring that we highly recommend)
If you are looking for a camping spot that is only 5-10 minutes from town (Jefferson NC or the quaint Downtown West Jefferson) but feels like you're in the middle of no where, then we have it!
The Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 20 minutes away and the New River equally close.
Looking Forward: July update. We are currently working on provided an all downhill mountain bike trail from 3600 to 3150ft. This path will be double wide for the most part and wide open at first to soak in the se view. Will update when completed! *a ride back up for your bike and yourself will be scheduled if requested

We are a peaceful campsite located along the Greenway Trail 20 minutes from Downtown Raleigh and 10 minutes from Clayton. The farm offers private wooded meadows with direct access to the Greenway for walking and cycling. Campers can either rent a tent or bring their own, choosing between secluded spots, shaded areas, or open spaces. The campsite is accessible via a gravel farm track and is close to the Greenway, river, and main house for bathroom access.
Nearby attractions include the Bailey Sarah William Preserve with 447 acres and 16.6 miles of multi-use trails, Sandy Pines Preserve with 563 acres of trails and fishing (18 minutes away), and Robertson Mill Pond for trails and seasonal kayaking (17 minutes away). Get away from the crowds. On 300 beautiful acres once operated as a children's summer adventure camp, this property has a bathroom for camper use. There are 3 primitive campsites, 2 cottages, and a horse sanctuary. The campsites are spaced out around the property for privacy. There are port-a-potties. There may occasionally be a real bathroom available.
4WD or AWD is recommended for all sites due to 1/2 mile gravel road and then completely off road for a short distance. Or, if you are bringing 2WD, there is plenty of parking and then walk to your campsite. We don't recommend trying to bring large RV's due to the access.
We have not had a problem with Black Bears on the property. Help us keep it that way. Do not store or keep food in your tent. Don't sleep with food. Keep in mind bears are omnivores much like us. They eat mostly plants but also eat meat. For more info on bear safety, visit www.bearwise.org
Winter camping is encouraged with free firewood. However, you will probably need to park on the gravel and walk to your campsite to limit soil erosion of the off-road trail.
Pets are welcome only at some sites, but please please let us know you are bringing them and they will need to be leashed due to other animals.
A large part of the property is forest with hiking trails, creeks, and wildlife. You can see wildflowers and lightning bugs in season along with deer, turkey, and horses.
And all of our spots have a great view of the sky! We're not far from the Bare Dark Sky Observatory.
The grass horse arena and the pond were originally built for the summer camp. The pond is stocked with bass and bluegill and has a chorus of bullfrogs in summer. The arena is flat and has a long range mountain view all the way to Mt. Mitchell (highest peak east of the Mississippi). There are also a meadow spot encircled by trees.

I had a great stay here this long weekend with my sister and 2 dogs! The site is beautiful and spacious, and there’s so much to explore!
One of the lakes is just steps away from the campsite and I loved fishing off the dock and relaxing. I caught some huge bass and brim, and the water is so clear by the dock that you can just sit and watch the fish swim. We also enjoyed the two kayaks that were there for us to use!
The very large shade canopy and fire pit were great to have and use, and the bath house was a huge bonus!! After a long day in the sun and sand and water, it’s so nice to be able to use a real toilet, sink, and shower while camping! And it’s within walking distance from the site.
The beaches on the property are also beautiful with white sand everywhere, and we loved fishing and swimming there. You can also see the horse pastures from the beach, and we enjoyed watching the horses :)
Since there are only a few sites on the property, we only ran into other people twice and most of the time it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.
Julie was very friendly and responsive throughout our stay, making sure we had the best experience possible, and we certainly did!
We will definitely be coming back soon!!

We loved our short stay here! The campsite was spacious, we had plenty of room for our group of 8! The canopy was perfect to escape the afternoon sun and having the kayaks added to the fun! We will definitely return.

Love, love, love this camping location! This is my 3rd time staying here and I never regret it. From only having just a few sites (my 1st stay), to having a bathhouse, little store, and more sites - it still feels just like home. If you want a family away from home - this is the place to go! Cheryl and Scott are both a pleasure and are always so helpful!
Plus farm fresh eggs, meat, etc. Is delicious!! I look forward to coming back again. 💓💓

Been twice and will be back again. Although there are more campsites, they’re still quite private, the sites are very well maintained and the hosts are super friendly and attentive. I actually caught a large mouth bass this time and my boys loved the farm animals.

Cheryl was so attentive and helpful! The campsite was beautiful, and the sound of the creek babbling set the mood for a great weekend. We were so lucky with the perfect weather. We had 2 hammocks and 2 tents set up with plenty of room for more. Great site, would recommend!

I had a great time camping at OnTop.camp. We stayed at Site 1, a peaceful, quiet, private, and absolutely beautiful campsite! I will definitely be back!
The view is really spectacular with a great sunset and sunrise. Also, with the 1:00 pm check-out time, you don't feel rushed to pack up.

Host was excellent with communication. I was in late and out early for a trail race and Rebecca was there to make sure I found my spot easily and was wonderful to talk to.
I only wish that I wasn’t out of there so quickly, this is a wonderful spot in a beautiful part of the state and given the opportunity I will be back again!!

Had a very nice 2 night one day stay. C amp clean and all sites pull thru. All amenities present, working clean. Nothing fancy just comfortable. Nice to walk thru the farm and see the animals. Farm animals not a petty zoo. Lisa is very friendly and we would happily stay again.

Must visit! Incredible views and well maintained site. We were so lucky this site was available! They aren’t kidding when they recommend 4/AWD and clearance and the host provided excellent photos and guidance for our journey up the mountain. Site is very private and fire pit is well located (we could occasionally hear the other site but that didn’t bother us, low music or breeze covered). Make sure to bring a tick remover if you bring a furry friend. We will be back! Next time we hope to stay more than 1 night. Check out Mt. Jefferson and New River for nearby hiking.

Cheryl and her family were all so welcoming.
Camp site 10 was very secluded and right beside the creek with a beachy area as described. The store on the campground had fresh meats from their farm animals and it was delicious. The pond was nice and relaxing although we did not catch anything. The grounds were well maintained and clean. the cute farm animals were a plus.

This has always been a favorite spot and always will! I've been about 7 times now and Cheryl and company have always been so friendly and helpful. My favourite part is the privacy of this specific location. Add on the fact that you can get farm fresh eggs and high quality cuts and you have a perfect spot for a getaway. Can't wait to come back!
