We had a wonderful time even though it was short! Jess met us on arrival and showed us around, which I gotta say you have a beautiful property! We loved the barn conversion! We went during a burn ban so no open fires were allowed, Jess let us bring a little wood stove that kept the camp alive! Next time we’ll hike and explore max patch due to it being so close. Overall a great stay for a couple or a family of three, the creek has a pretty strong current so I’m sure during the summer that would be a really nice spot to cool off!

We love Nate's space! This was our second visit-the perfect place for a quiet mountain getaway. The hosts are super accessible and welcoming, the view is beautiful, and the hot tub is perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking. We love the location - easy access to Asheville and surrounding mountain towns. Will definitely be back again for our next trip!

We stopped by on our way home to Maine in late March .We had a lovely spot up at the top of a field with a fantastic view. There is a nicely mowed path that follows a fence line , which makes for a nice morning walk. There are all kinds of fun things to look at down by the pond including a surprise in the “ old out house “ The date bars that the host gave us were very much appreciated not to mention delicious ! There is a bit of road noise but I suspect once the leaves are on the trees this will be cut down. A very lovely spot to visit.

We had a wonderful weekend camping at campsite 6! It was nicely tucked away giving us plenty of space and privacy. The property and the area is beautiful. Pat and Johnny were amazing hosts, friendly and welcoming. My partner loves Buffalo and getting to feed their Buffalo, Sammy, was a real treat. We hope to come back this summer. Absolutely recommend!

Was a fantastic first hipcamp experience! Small family with a toddler and a dog. The hike is short but somewhat steep, and actually was difficult with a wagon. But it may be due to the recent hurricane damage. A great view immediately welcomes you in the morning when you exit the tent. Beautiful. And a kind and responsive owner.

This place was absolutely fabulous. Exclamation, I’m a little hesitant to write such a raving review because it’s already mostly booked and we would love to go back. In fact we’ve already booked our second trip. It’s wonderful restful close but not too close yet far enough away from all the busy craziness that Asheville has now become. It’s wonderful to bring our own little home but yet enjoy some of the finer trappings of a glamping lifestyle.

Jess's land is amazing. The perfect getaway for our weekend. We fell asleep listening to the babbling stream, and woke up to birds singing. Jess is wonderful and welcoming, her dogs Clyde and Tigress were an adorable and unexpected perk! The site is between two gravel/dirt roads, however while we were there there were very few cars and they didn't really bother us at all.

Nice, private spot, minimal leveling needed. We’re local and just there for the weekend. Would be a great stay if you’re coming in from out of town. We added on the WiFi and the hot tub. Both were great. We’re a 32ft TT behind a F250 and the turnaround took a good bit of maneuvering, so just beware of that.

The property used to hold Glass Feather Studio, which was a glass art studio and is now Glass Feather Lodge. The mountain view from the indoor porch is amazing and there are several places to relax and enjoy this view. After years of looking all over the mountains for a river property we could call our own, our favorite spot on the river came up for sale. It just so happened it was nearly halfway between where we both grew up. After many sleepless nights worrying if we could succeed or not (it was much larger than properties we had been looking for), we bought it! Our favorite spot on the river was virtually inaccessible by any way other than floating. But after hundreds of hours of hard work, we think we have developed a place where others too can enjoy the things we do about the property. We dream big and Tellurian remains a work in progress, but we feel we have created a place where folks can enjoy the peacefulness of nature, the river and incredible views. Use Greener Acres campsite as your jumping-off point for fun nearby activities or relax on our 40 acre mountainside property and watch for meteor showers in the clear night sky! Within 5 minutes, you can be at Roan Mountain State Park or drive 5-10 minutes to hike the Appalachian Trail. Head up to Carvers Gap just below Roan Mountain High Knob where you can hop out and enjoy a short walk to a scenic view of both the TN and NC mountains or visit the famous Rhododendron Gardens in season. Campsite also boasts energizing, private hike up to Heaton Ridge. Want to spend the day kayaking or canoeing? Head to Wilbur Lake, about a 30 minute drive away from our campsite. Exploring Laura Falls is only a 20 minute drive away. Blue Ridge Parkway, Blowing Rock, and Grandfather Mountain in N.C. are about 30-45 minutes away. The Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg, and Dollywood are about a 2 hour drive through amazing mountain views. The annual Rhododendron Festival takes place minutes away. Supplies can be found at the state park camp store or in town at Redi-Mart or Dollar General. Water and showers are down by barn. A Gator is available for the duration of your stay. Please arrive before sundown so we can meet you the first time you stay to show you the way and make sure you are comfortable driving Gator. We will have you follow us up to the campsite and from there you can come and go and just leave the Gator by your car near the barn when you are out and about and when checking out. A small Bluetti power charging station will be available in the tent (for light charging of cell phones, other) which can be recharged by the barn if used heavily. A Coleman stove with a small propane tank, pots, a frying pan and utensils is also included in the site. Another small propane tank is provided for the radiator in the tent.

Gusher Knob

Gusher Knob is a 220+ acre forested mountain near Spruce Pine, NC. The site has a 12 x 12 raised platform for your tent (we don't recommend pitching a tent anywhere other than the platform), picnic table, fire pit, and a hook to hold a lantern. This is the only campsite on the property and has a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Please stay within the campsite area as the surrounding land is private and monitored. Cell coverage is ok. Nearby hiking, climbing, and fly fishing are a few activities you will enjoy when visiting this lovely area of western NC. The campsite is a short 7-minute easy hike along a well-marked clear trail from the parking spot. The trail is non-technical and will mostly accommodate camping gear with wheels, such as a cooler. Since it's situated in the woods, please be aware that you may encounter any number of nature's residents such as deer, squirrels, box turtles, wild turkeys, and bears. Please do not feed them and make sure to protect any food items appropriately. None of the natural residents has any interest in you personally, but they are known to be drawn to available food items.

We have a one acre wildlife pond and a smaller pond fed by springs and Buffalo Creek, which runs through the farm. Our small buffalo herd is pastured not far from the campsites and our friendly peacocks and chickens roam the grounds. We also offer classes in blacksmithing, art, foraging and cooking periodically. We are rural but not remote and are minutes away from state parks, fishing, hiking, rafting and other recreational activities as well as downtown Johnson City and Historic Jonesborough with breweries, shops, and many restaurants.
