I had a wonderfully peaceful stay. The hosts are so kind, generous and welcoming. It’s a gem of a place to get away from city life and see the quiet, natural flow of farm life. Would love to return in the future. The outdoor shower was a highlight!

Weekend Trip to Sugarneck Glamping Resort, NC

I really enjoyed my experience with my family. Everything was clean and well kept. Even with summer, mosquitos weren't rampant. They have 3 or 4 other units on the property and they're all well spaced out. The tent was a great condition. The kitchen included a small fridge and a small coffee maker and some mugs, plates, and bowls. The game room was a lifesaver. Our dog enjoyed her time as well as she got to run around the property to explore. She's good about being called and coming to us, but for others, I'd recommend really knowing your dog because the property isn't fenced in and they could just run off into the woods. Plenty of shaded areas. The game room was a lifesaver because it had room for us to just lounge around and play games and watch TV. Don't judge, we chose glamping this time for a reason! Lol the long swing was fun. We also found a full size corn hole set, ax throwing (plastic), and as much ice as you could need for your stay. It was a wonderful time. The only BIG thing you should consider is how much there is to do in the immediate area (not much). So either plan to stay on property the whole time you're here, or be sure everything is at a reasonable distance. This is a great spot to just get away.

The bathroom and The Alice were both clean. Due to its location, wooded area, there were a lot of bugs (spiders, roaches, etc) inside both. That was expected but disturbing. The “game room” on the property was really nice and had games and a tv for movie night. We would definitely return. However, non of us were ever able to connect to the WiFi. Even at the game room. So that was disappointing since one of us looked forward to working on a novel. But in general, we had a great time. Also, we were able to communicate via the App if there were any issues.

We really enjoyed our stay at Abbott Creek Farm! The property was peaceful, spacious, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The host was kind and responsive, and we felt very welcome throughout our stay. We especially loved seeing the farm animals at sunset, it added such a sweet, grounding touch to the experience. The outdoor shower in the morning sun was a highlight too, so refreshing and relaxing. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a calm, nature-filled getaway!

Cheryl is amazing!! This is the perfect place to camp, it's quiet and secluded. The farm stand is open on the weekend I got a bunch of goodies! We got to pet the sheep and donkeys and they were so friendly. I would definitely come back here!!

Weekend Trip to The Dancing Pig On Abbotts Creek

My husband and I enjoyed a quiet weekend at Natalie’s place. As it happened, my father suddenly passed way the next day. I am grateful for the calm and peace we experienced that weekend in such a beautiful place.

We love the Tent that we stayed in. We are lucky that it was only us who were staying in the whole place that day. The place is very spacious and beautifully decorated. We had our dinner in their bbq station and we enjoyed it! A lot of activities around to enjoy. We will definitely be back next time and will bring more friends to stay!

Weekend Trip to Mystic Meadow Farm Glamping.

My dog and I had the absolute best weekend at the “Love Shack” in Mystic Meadow. Wendy has created a woodland oasis with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The location is easy to find, but feels a thousand miles away from the daily grind. The cabin is perfect, thedeck was outfitted with chairs for relaxing, a swing near the creek, and the woody trails were full of fun treasures. And did I mention the fire pit? We enjoyed visiting the fluffy butts and the goats along the trail, listening to the creek as it bubbled along and watching fireflies from the deck and morning visits with deer. Wendy suggested a couple of places to visit locally, which had great trails and shopping options. We even visited a local drive in on Saturday night. There are lots of options near by for all kinds of entertainment. In fact I’m checking my calendar for another trip in the fall. I highly recommend booking a trip to mystic Meadows, you will not be disappointed. Thanks Wendy for a great weekend and being a terrific host. We really didn’t want to leave! .

Wow! We are so blessed to have found this beautiful site. We loved wandering and exploring the land, picking fresh blackberries, and saying hi to the animals (the donkey is our great friend!). Thank you Natalie & Darrel for being such awesome hosts - even though we arrived very late at night, we were given good instructions and left a lantern to find our lovely cabin. Hoping to come back and spend more time here, it is a true gem.

I couldn't possibly put into words just how perfect this site and these hosts were. The creekside camp site is quiet and out of the way. The bathroom is so nice, and well stocked. The candles were a wonderful touch that made evenings by the fire easy. We saw so so many bunnies just from our site. The stroll over to the creek was easy, and had the most adorable little bench to sit and relax. We loved feeding the pigs and Jack the donkey. The stocked greenhouse was a great addition. Being able to borrow or buy nearly anything you could possibly need. The property is beautiful and an inspiration for all. By and far the outdoor shower was a life saver. Being able to clean off after a long sweaty day kayaking was a blessing. And being able to break camp and get clean made the long drive home pleasant. Natalie and Darrel truly have thought of everything. And this site has the most friendly, homey atmosphere imaginable. Bring some extra lanterns along as it gets dark. And make sure to enjoy the swimming hole 10 minutes down the road. Thank you so much for everything 🙂. Give Jack a cookie for us. We will be back.

Weekend Trip to Kohler Farms-A Shire Horse...

This is, hands down, the best spot we've found using Hipcamp! The hosts are incredibly friendly and offer a ton of free firewood, a port-a-porty and garbage cans. The camping site is humongous and we enjoyed all the fish and crayfish in the creek. The bestest part is the 2 four legged puppers that hang out with you! We loved our stay soooo much, we will back many more times down the road!

I initially booked the tiny cabin, but while on the road I checked for directions and realized I booked the wrong date! Whoops! Natalie was SO great and was able to book the tent site instead! It was just me and my daughter (8 years old) who is also autistic and can struggle with changing expectations .. but WOW!! I think we actually lucked out with this sweet campsite! We also brought along our 2 rescue pups for their first camping experience and they loved it! We did end up in a big storm, but with the awesome platform built there was no worries of flooding the tent! We bought the wood and the bag of ice, they even have a cooler chest right there on the platform! The compost toilet is super cool and located right next to the spot so no worries of stumbling through the night to “go” My daughter LOVED the animals and getting to pick wild berries! The pups got into some mud but it was so nice to just pop right up to the outdoor shower and get squeaky clean! To feel so secluded and yet so close to all the convenient stuff you may need.. this camping spot is definitely top of our list now!

4 nights at Mystic Meadow Farm Glamping.

Wendy was a great host! Every little detail added up to a wonderful stay! Cute, comfortable, and dry (it rained a couple of evenings during our stay) A-frame provided privacy. The shower house was awesome and she even has walking trails! Come to the Mystic Meadow Love Shack, sit in the rocking chairs, and listen to the riffle of the minnow-filled brook and RELAX!

This property was absolutely beautiful, very well maintained, and so peaceful. The owner was so kind and welcoming. No mosquitoes or ticks in sight. Very convenient drive to/from the carrboro area. Hope to stay here again soon!

Our farm is a beautiful, private 25 acres with an 1830s house, outbuildings, animals, orchards, gardens, pastures, old trees, wildlife habitat, a spring, and woods. Here you can relax; watch nature; meet our chickens, goats, horse, cats, and dog; learn about archaeology, history, plants, and mead making; and get eggs and homegrown seasonal food. My farm had been untouched for years and only used as hay farming. It is rolling hills known by the locals as "Butterfly Hill" Which the farm is home to many species of butterflies in the summer. I know the area was inhabited by native Americans many decades ago. I have found a few broken arrow heads over the years. The farm is beautiful and quiet. I have a beautiful hiking trail around the property for you to take your fur babies on. The cabin is right on a beautiful stream too. Our farm is an agritourism/sheep farm that offers seasonal events, educational workshops, a petting zoo, B&B, farm store, snack bar and camping! We are a working farm during the week so we only allow camping to occur on the farm during the week as well as weekends. The rest of the farm offerings are not available until the weekend. We don't have hookups, so bring a generator if you need it. If you need to fill up your RV water tank, we charge $10. Each of the 3 sites has a fire ring and picnic table. A Grill Pavilion is available to rent for $20 extra. See photos. Propane, grill, table and party lights included. We allow check-ins during the week after 12 noon, perfect for folks passing through and just need a safe and quiet place to park for the night and not interested in visiting the farm store, the barnyard or the rest of the farm, which are closed during week. If you are looking for interaction with the animals, or shop our farm store, book on a weekends when we open the Farm 10am-4pm for the public to visit our petting zoo, Farm Store and Snack Shack. We even offer feed so you can feed our sheep, donkeys, chickens, ducks and geese! While we are dog-friendly, we do not allow dogs outside the camping area. Instead, we offer a 1.5 acre piece of property adjacent to the camping sites where you can allow your dogs off-leash. No extra charge. Our camping area is a large grassy field that will accommodate multiple tent campers, travel trailers, and RVs under 30' with room to turn around, stake your area, and not feel crowded. There is also 1 regularly maintained porta potty located in this area.

We are within walking distance to Lake Tillary and less than 5 mins to the boat landing. You may bring your boat and park it here while you camp. SPECIAL NOTE: There are animals here that you may pet once you have been properly introduced. You may bring your pets as long as they are vaccinated and behaved. If they fight with other animals or chase chickens or ducks you may want to test this upon your arrival. Unfortunately, you must keep them on leash at all times. Our County does have a leash law, and should property🌱🌹🌻🚜🚗📬🗑or animals🦌🐂🐏🐐🐰🦃🦆 be damaged or harmed you will be held responsible. For example, if your dog kills a chicken, you buy the chicken🐓🐔🐥. If they harm a horse🐎 or donkey🐴, you are responsible for ALL vet fees. Also, be aware we have coyotes, osprey, hawks, as any rural area does. Small animals must be suprevised. We are not responsible for acts of nature. The barn is beautiful and you are welcome to take photos, however, you are NOT permitted in the barn without supervision. Absolutley NO smoking or fire near the barn. It is over 100 years old and built by my great grand family and is irreplaceable. SPECIAL FEATURE: As I am just beginning the camp on site experience I offer several options and additional services. #1. Some find out after arriving that I teach NC Concealed Carry Handgun Classes. If you wish to participate in a class, it is preferred that you register before the day of the class. I will post classes on this site so that campers will know there will be shooting in the late afternoon. Some chose to camp on other weekends, some choose to go out to eat during those times, and some don't mind either way. #2. I am also much in favor of work for camp site. Some have asked to do clean up or other small jobs for the priviledge to camp. So far this has worked out well, with one exception. Please do not accept an offer to take on a task that you do not know how to do. Example, pulling weeds or trimming if you do not know what a weed verses flower looks like. LOL #3. There is plenty of firewood, see photos, here laying around and some trees down that will make great firewood (bring your own cutting tools.) We also sell firewood by the bundle. #4. Being a camper here gives you the privilege of fresh veggies and fruits that are in season, as well as fresh free range eggs. MAJOR POINT: You must remember this is a working farm and our duties and responsibilities for the farm come first. You must abide by the boundaries. *see map* The creek is the back boundary and should never be crossed onto my neighbors. I will not tolerate any disrespect to my neighbors, what so ever. No! the roosters don't have an off button, neither does the jacka... donkey! When it is hay cutting time, we will cut hay. If you want to hike the property, feel free, know the boundaries and bring a machete to cut your way by the creek/stream in some areas. We have thistle trees and briars, you are welcome to cut all you wish as you go. There are spiders, bugs, and snakes etc. Black snakes, king snakes, runners, and whip snakes belong here and we ask that you do not kill them. Copperheads are here as qell and if you see one, come get me and I will dispatch it for you. .
