SPACIOUS SKIES WOODLAND HILLS
is a family-friendly campground located in upstate New York amidst the Taconic and Berkshire mountain ranges, set between Albany and Pittsfield, MA, and only two hours north of New York City and two hours west of Boston, MA.
We offer both wooded and open sites that can accommodate any size trailer. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, water, 30 or 50-amp electrical service, and many offer sewer. Groups and tent campers are welcome.
Woodland Hills campground is easily accessed from Interstate 90. The campground’s private pond offers swimming, fishing, and paddle boating. Our slice of paradise consists of 225 acres of forested land nestled in the foothills of the Catskills near Albany. We are a homestead and small campground devoted to the principles of organic farming and self-reliance. Modern agriculture and big business are unsustainable, destroying farmland at an accelerating pace. It is important for us to teach the next generation, there is an alternative. We produce much of our own food. We have friendly goats, chickens, ducks, peacocks, donkeys and horses the guests can pet and feed. There are no swimming holes on our property, but many waterfalls and swimming spots within a short drive (see list below). A quick 5 minute drive will get you to one of the best disc golf courses in the north east. For the truly adventurous, Clarksville Cave is a short drive away. Visit their website for list of proper gear and rules. We do rent some of the equipment needed.

Lake Taghkanic is a great place for both summer and winter stays, with plenty of tent campsites as well as cabins and cottages, and a variety of activities to do year round. For winter folks, there's cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails, as well as ice skating and ice fishing areas, and plenty of fire pits to warm those chilly bones. For summer lovin', there are two beaches, so if someone kicks sand in your potato salad (accidentally, of course), you can just go to another beach and pretend like it never happened. The only sleeping quarters that are on the water are some of the cottages in the West End Cottage Area, so if you're planning on playing Beach Party Bingo, plan accordingly or be willing to walk a bit from your tent or cabin.

For July 4th weekend, and Labor Day weekend drive-up sites are a 2 night minimum. Our 75 acres is a wonderful, diverse mix of habitat, harmoniously integrated with our small farm. This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock.
The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you!
Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. You are also free to use our outdoor solar shower or take a dip in the cold pond or artesian spring fed pool.

The Little Witch Cottage is a rustic charming cottage from 1929 with timber framing and Catskill blue stone flooring. It sits in the middle of our yard about 200 feet from our more modern home. We have about 9 acres set back from the road. The cottage has a queen sized bed, dining table, and small kitchenette.
The kitchenette has a mini fridge, dishes, toaster oven, french press for coffee and an induction stove top. There is basic cooking supplies such as pots and pans.

Welcome to Hickory Hollow!
Located 7 minutes from the Town of Catskill, 25 minutes from Hudson, and just under the Catskill Mountains, Hickory Hollow is the perfect campsite to take full advantage of the Upper Hudson Valley.
There are two campsites you can chose from, both in clearings that make for great star gazing. Camp 1 is deeper into the forest taking about two minutes to walk to from the parking area. Camp site 2 is only a one minute walk but much closer to the farm. If you are coming with a dog, I would recommend staying at Camp site 1, as the farms dogs are very vocal when there are new friends in the area. Each campsite comes with a fire pit, a grate for cooking, and a picnic table.
There is parking provided and a composting outhouse. You will need to bring your own firewood, though there is plenty of available kindling.
The property is 9 acres and I encourage guests to hike down to the stream and take a walk if they feel comfortable. If not there are so many hiking/swimming options nearby and I am happy to point you in the right direction.
This property has a been a life long dream of mine, and is (in my opinion) the most beautiful place on earth. That being said there is a still a lot of work that I am doing since this is a very new endeavor. So please watch yourself if you do decide to stay. The Hollow is beautiful but also very steep, so please be careful while you walk the woods. Pets are welcome, but again, be safe. There is an abundance of wildlife in the Hollow (see if you can spot the porcupine) but that can be very distracting for dogs, so be cautious when letting them off lead.

Quiet place in the Catskills. Great place for wildlife viewing, Swimming and fishing in Green Lake and select locations and along the Kaaterskill Creek. We have been the caretakers of this land and cabin since 2015, when we bought it from the builder of the modest cabin on-site, Steve.
It is our family camp, but we love to share it with friends and fellow nature-loving campers.
The land is partially wooded, and partially 'old field' that is slowly re-foresting through natural succession with some intentional interruption in order to introduce edible native trees and shrubs that are not naturally present.
In this way the land is a slowly developing food forest and also a nursery for its plant-loving stewards.

Escape the city and find yourself in this off-grid hillside cabin with a deck overlooking the Taconic mountain range. Wander through field and forest, and cool off in the nearby stream. The cabin has two rooms, and there is a kids playground and tire swing making this an appropriate family camping getaway. There is a solar panel providing indoor lights and phone charging capabilities, a fire pit with a grill, and a simple array of pots, dishes, and utensils. There is a spring-fed 55 gallon reservoir of potable water that will slowly refill as well.
Though not far off the road, there is very little car traffic, and the surroundings are very peaceful. The din of the running stream is a constant, while the sounds of coyotes and owls can be heard at night. As the name indicates, the east-facing hillside is often witness to incredible moonrises, and the stars are always bright.
Nearby Attractions:
The Beer Diviner small-scale brewery and taproom is a stone's throw away from the parking area with a selection of tasty beer and some food options available. In addition to regular hours, there are special summer events, and live music every Saturday night.
Cherry Plain State Park is a 'less-traveled' state park and campground just 3.5 miles up the road, offering lake swimming, boating, hiking and mountain bike trails.
Other nearby outdoor attractions include: Williamstown MA, The Taconic Crest Trail, Jiminy Peak Resort, Hancock Shaker Village, and Mt. Greylock.

Weekend Trip to Cherry Plain Sanctuary Farm
I loved spending the night at this property. Tipi camping with views of horses and goats. Very off grid. No electricity or running water and a composting toilet. I just sat most of the day watching the animals and enjoying an outside fire pit. I was traveling alone and felt very safe. Nice to just be out in nature for one night. There was a local restaurant nearby if you didn't want to cook on the fire, that was very reasonable. Jules the host was friendly

We loved camping on Jim’s land! Felt secluded, peaceful and quiet. This site is set back from the road, there’s a clean outhouse, and trails Jim has built out and maintained. A beautiful spot in the Catskills near Palenville, Catskill, Saugerties and lots of great hikes (Huckleberry Point + Plattekill Falls were awesome). Story Farms right down the road. We showed our friends from abroad their first “classic American camping experience” and Jim’s property did not disappoint. Kid friendly, as well — our toddler had lots of space to roam and play. We will definitely be back!

If your looking for seclusion with quick river access, surprisingly good reception to listen to tunes on Bluetooth and a site where you barely have to bring anything as everything you’ll need or want is supplied and set up for you then you’ll find it as delightful as I did. Paula and Bill the owners are also the best, they were most helpful in supplying their input on any questions I had. Will def be back, thank you guys

Absolutely loved this place. Beautiful views and private. We enjoyed exploring the farm and petting the animals. The fresh eggs were delicious! Host was very responsive. We will definitely be back again; it’s a hidden gem.

Great location, easy parking and great secluded campsite. Composting toilet was a surprising Delight. If you like nature, but want to be near everything, this is a great location.

This was such a beautiful and quiet spot! The path to the site is easy to follow and the picnic table and firepit are lovely. There’s one other site nearby but with enough distance between them for privacy. I would recommend camping at Evan’s any time :)

What a beautiful property! The ponds and the sounds of the frogs and toads were fun to hear. The path to the campsite was mowed and lined with lightning bugs (at night). I saw 2 deer in the field early morning. Singing birds bring joy to waking up and hooting owls were calming to fall asleep to. The pines 6 site was private and cozy.
Thomas was helpful and accommodating to my requests.
Less than 10 minutes to Jiminy Peak.
Grateful for this experience.

Second visit to this site. Highly recommended if you have a 4x4 or want to hike in. Since our last visit the site has been made larger and a picnic table inserted!!! Always a great stay and James is a great host!!

My son and I loved staying at Jim’s place! He met us on arrival (we were late- my fault- sorry Jim😬) and he showed us around. We walked down a few trails- it’s perfectly forested- not too dense, there’s still a breeze- even when it was hot and humid out. Our site had the perfect blend of wooded area and natural-feeling clearing- we could throw a ball, run around, and it still felt secluded. Jim offered to take us foraging for mushrooms which I would have LOVED, but my son wanted to stay at the camp site and do the stuff a kid does when camping😈.
We had a truly incredible experience. Thank you Jim so much for being such a gracious host! Can’t wait to come back with the whole family!

I thought it was very appropriate to celebrate my 40th in a witch’s cottage and my instinct was spot on. This place was exactly what I had envisioned for the weekend.
The property is very special, it was a perfect place to sip on a slow contemplative cup of tea while admiring the surrounding garden and woods and taking in all the sounds of nature.
Caitlin and Andre are excellent hosts, they were very friendly and accessible. Andre gave my friend’s toddler a full tour of the gardens. He was delighted by the truck and sampling strawberries.
It was perfect, we hope to return to witch cottage soon. Thanks so much for hosting us!
