We have enjoyed visiting the Adirondacks for many years. My father was born in Keene and grew up in Keene Valley. We still have family in the area. My husband Richard and I just retired in June 2024. We could not think of a more beautiful and peaceful place to live out our retirement years. We searched for 6 years and finally settled on the gray house in Westport, with 32 acres of wooded land. You have the entire camper, porch, high-speed satellite internet, full kitchen, indoor full bathroom with composting toilet, outdoor shower and washer/dryer, fire pit, outdoor seating, outhouse, and 32-acre woodland surroundings. There is a huge field next to the cabins, a nearby pond and private trails to explore! | THE CABINS | Main Cabin: One larger cabin, consisting of a living room, full kitchen (dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, and toaster), laundry room with washer and dryer. Three bedrooms (2 king beds & 1 queen bed), two full bathrooms (one en-suite) with standup showers and one large bathtub. Two of the bedrooms have closets. The main cabin is not heated and space heaters will be provided during any colder months (Spring/Fall). Mini Cabins: Four small log cabins spread out in a row, underneath a canopy of beautiful pine trees! The cabins are spaced far enough that there is enough privacy in-between each one. The cabins come equipped with power, WIFI, Roku TVs, refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, screened-in porches, AC units, ceiling fans and outdoor water hookups. They each comfortably sleep between 2-3 adults. Cabins are not heated. Space heaters are provided during colder months (Spring/Fall). Cabin # 66: Full size bed Cabin # 64: Full size bed & Twin size bed Cabin # 62: Queen size bed & Twin size bed Cabin # 60: Queen size bed Guests can bring their own bedding and towels. Or, can request that sheets and towels are provided (free of charge). *The smaller cabins do not have running water or bathrooms. There is a bathhouse with separate men’s and women’s bathrooms and showers a short walk from the cabins. *Please note although the cabins are outfitted with modern amenities, they still have a rustic camp-like feel* *RVs are welcome and can be easily parked next to the cabins. The site is not a pull-through, so RVs would have to turn around at the end of the driveway* | THE BATHHOUSE | Across from the four smaller cabins is a bathhouse, featuring men's and women's sides. Each side has two bathroom stalls, one stand up shower and double sinks. | THE GRASSE RIVER | The Grasse River is a 73 mile-long river, mainly flowing northeast from the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains into the St. Lawrence Valley. Stocked with brown trout, native brook trout, smallmouth bass and rock bass. Follow the trails from the campground to the river, where you can picnic, fish and relax! *Swimming is at guests’ own risk. The river’s current depends on the season or how much rain the area has received. While exploring the banks of the river you will find faster and slower areas.* | THE POND | There is a private trail which leads to a small pond. The pond is perfect for exploring by canoe or kayak. There are a few channels which lead to other trails on the property. *Several other properties have access to the pond. However, we have yet to see anyone else using the pond - it is very quiet! The pond is not meant for swimming* | THE TRAILS | There are multiple private trails leading to the river, into the woods and the pond. If you enjoy being in nature, these trails are truly lovely to walk/run/bike and enjoy! They are also extremely wide and well-groomed. We have added Adirondack chairs at certain end points. | THE FIELD | A large field abuts the smaller cabins. Paige and I had a wonderful time at Scott’s site! The views were incredible, beautiful sunrises and sunsets were had. The site itself had a lot of great amenities and was well maintained. Scott was a phenomenal host who quickly answered any of the questions we had and gave us plenty of privacy. Plenty of great trails to hike around just a short drive away. Would highly recommend having a larger vehicle like an SUV to get to the site and navigate the terrain. I drive a Toyota rav4 and got around just fine. Would definitely recommend this site, we had a phenomenal time.

The Fords went above and beyond to make our stay special—bringing us warm water for showers and even surprising me with cupcakes for my birthday. They truly think of everything, making it a completely carefree glamping experience. We loved exploring Dunkley Falls and jumping into the Black Hole, both just a short walk from camp. We loved our stay at this little cabin. It is well equipped and cozy. We enjoyed nice nights on the porch with the chiminea, cooked out on the grill and used the fire place for chilly mornings. The kitchen is well equipped and once you get used to the rain water for cleaning and spring water for drinking and cooking it’s pretty straightforward. The canoe availability with all the accessories to load it on your car to explore local lakes and ponds is an amazing amenity. The location is also great to explore the Adirondacks. From there we were able to canoe and fish, hike the Paul Smith’s VIC, have nice meals and swim in Saranac Lake, Zip-line in Lake Placid and, of course, sample the daily ice cream flavor at Donnelly’s. All this in just 3 days with the cabin’s great location. We would definitely stay here again when back in the Adirondacks region.

Amazing! 100% recommend. My son and I went white water rafting nearby and found this amazing site for two nights of camping. Absolutely everything has been thought of and it is clear the owners have invested significantly in making this an idyllic spot. The kitchen area is fully stocked and the tents are extremely spacious. Being able to drive or walk down the road to the Black Hole was a highlight. The owners were kind and hospitable and I would recommend this to anyone. Perfect location for family or friends gathering.

My husband and I had a great experience at The Cabin (Karley’s Cabin). It was really clean, cozy and relaxing. The location was perfect for Paul Smith’s Reunion, the day trips, and hikes we took. The outhouse was not an issue, clean, well lit, and close to cabin. If you camp or boat the water situation is easy, and there was a lot of potable water to drink and rain water for everything else. We look forward to visiting again.

The cabin was a nice experience, roomy, and had everything needed. The screened in porch was great, gave us some shelter from the critters and the firepit helped as well! Kitchen area is very usable, one hotplate was handy but if you plan to do significant cooking bring a stove. Fit 4 people between the full bed, the futon, and the included cot. Firewood and eggs were a nice touch!

We had a lovely stay at Scott’s tent. The view was absolutely beautiful and made the entire stay worthwhile! It was also such a perk having a flushing toilet and creek water for washing. If you’re thinking of booking Scott’s tent, a couple of things to note: Although there is a road that takes you close to the tent, you have to park in a designated parking area which requires about 200 feet of an uphill hike to get your things to the tent. The paths were a little overgrown and the road up was a little tricky. We had no issues in our Jeep Wrangler, but I probably wouldn’t want to drive the road in anything with lower clearance or a much wider body. You can hear the highway at the site, but we got used to it after the first day. There is a flushing toilet in a tent not too far from the main camp, which we loved having available! The site is also very private, which we loved! All in all, as long as you feel comfortable with the drive and hike up, this was a nice spot to spend a long weekend.

What a lovely cabin in a beautiful place! The cabin is so cozy with a wood-burning fireplace, images of the area's flowers and animals, a beautiful sitting porch, and quintessential Adirondack-themed decor. The surrounding grounds have a lovely little garden and lots of native plants to look at like slipper orchids, conifers, and bunchberry. It was so fun to sit out on the porch, listening to the birds and watching the red squirrels go by. There is also a lake very close to the cabin - we would walk down there to watch the ducks and dip our toes in the water. Christopher was very communicative and gave clear instructions for everything! We would certainly stay here again and left with many good memories!
