It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka. Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinarily beautiful spots on earth that make you feel like you are in another world. It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below. The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls. Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and keep noise down after 10pm to enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside At the entrance to the campsites there is a barn community room with a charging station, cold water sink, fridge, coffee maker, cookware, and a port-a-potty. There are 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water. This is a leave no trace site. Take all your trash with you when you leave. Bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty! Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log. The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms stands with fresh produce and organic meat close by. Within a 5 miles radius is a general store, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, Rooted Movement, the Sap Bush Country Store and Café, and Mustang Valley (a wild mustang sanctuary). This land was once all pasture for grazing animals. We moved to Delaware County in November 2018 to start our family and pursue dreams of working on the land. The initial idea was to find a place we could live, garden, and raise a few animals while hosting guests and sharing the land with visitors. When we found this place on Williams Road, we loved the mix of rural and proximity to a thriving country town. We now have two kids and enjoy living in Delhi so much we hardly leave the town limits! There are wonderful restaurants, a great year-round farmers market, grocery stores, and many other services and amenities you can find listed towards the end of this guide. Our Catskill Mountain home is situated on a historic early 19th century farm site. Parts of the house might be more than 190 years old! With several additions and upgrades we think the house has lots of charm and enjoy the many modern touches. The property is overgrown pastures and a few steeper slopes with medium growth trees. After the industrial period saw this region nearly deforested, the land was granted to settlers who cleared fields and planted grass. Our immediate vicinity was knows for it’s cattle (Bovina), mostly for diary, and sheep. The agriculture in Delaware County has been on a decline since the advent of rail shipping opened New York City markets to farms in less challenging geographies. Construction of the NYC fresh water system (DEP Watershed) may have contributed to this decline, but about 60-70 years ago the majority of pastures, especially less productive parcels were abandoned to the “weed trees”. These first succession trees grew quickly in the sunny meadows and covered the hills; trees such as Ash, Hawthorn, and Norway Spruce. Fences and barns were left to return to the earth. On our property the stone walls that boarder the fields are the most stark reminder of the intensive agriculture practiced here.

The nights are just spectacular as you look into the sky surrounded by a blanket of stars, able to see the many constellations looking like jewels on a black cloth. The sounds of nature and all of it's distinct calls including that of eagles, is truly an experience. And we cannot forget our other friendly neighbors, the wild turkeys and deer! We are very appreciative of this beauty and would love to share this sacred place with you. Feel free to reserve your own firewood. $10 *PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING* I want to be transparent with you guys on the property and size of the camper! -The camper is very small only 21ft. The average height clearance is 6'2" so if you are tall this may not be for you. (I'm 5'9" and its comfortable for me) -If you are a bigger person this may feel too tight for you especially in the bathroom area -The bed is a full size some couples may feel that this is to small for them. -A hot shower will last about 15 minutes once it is heated up. -In the summertime there is bugs some may get into the camper. We do treat the area with safe bug spray but it may not fully prevent them. -There are two other tiny houses and a main house on the property. They are far apart but the main house is close. We have a privacy fence that fully blocks the house. So you are still very private but you are not fully secluded. -In case of fire There is a fire blanket, fire extinguisher, and a smoke/carbon monoxide detector inside the camper. The bedroom door is only to be used as an emergency fire exit. (Door is locked from the outside but unlocked from the inside) There is also a water cannon outside for outdoor fires. Please be responsible with all fires! -If you want to cancel you must cancel within 24 hours of booking then I will issue a full refund. Please reset windows to how you found them when you leave.BathroomOur compost toilet is lined with a compostable trash bag. When you end your trip and leave the Yurt, and/or when the toilet is 2/3 full, please tie shut the compostable bag and dump the bag into our compost. Please note that propane is not included in your stay and each tank is $25; you can find them under add-ons.  Each propane tank will comfortably heat the yurt a night as cold as 30-degree night up to 24hrs.  Decide how many tanks you'd like depending how long you are staying or how cold you expect it to be. The Yurt will comfortabl heat freezing nights as well, it just will use propane more quickly.WaterWe provide a full Berkey full of filtered, clean water from our well with each visit. Walton automatically sorts recycling from trash so both can go in the same bins (we separate our recycling in a different bag just so the trash doesn’t contaminate it, but put it in the same bin as the trash.)  —-Compost (fruit + veggie scraps, tea + coffee grounds, toilet bag) gets taken to outdoor compost bin on path to parking and covered with hay or leaves—-Meat + dairy stays sealed in an airtight container when in the Yurt and taken with you when you leaveRules1) Please remove shoes as soon as you enter the Yurt2) Please scoop sawdust anytime you use the toilet, and please take the toilet sawdust out to the compost bin once it is 2/3 of the way full or when you leave, whichever comes first. This land was once all pasture for grazing animals. We moved to Delaware County in November 2018 to start our family and pursue dreams of working on the land. The initial idea was to find a place we could live, garden, and raise a few animals while hosting guests and sharing the land with visitors. When we found this place on Williams Road, we loved the mix of rural and proximity to a thriving country town. We now have two kids and enjoy living in Delhi so much we hardly leave the town limits! There are wonderful restaurants, a great year-round farmers market, grocery stores, and many other services and amenities you can find listed towards the end of this guide. Our Catskill Mountain home is situated on a historic early 19th century farm site. Parts of the house might be more than 190 years old! With several additions and upgrades we think the house has lots of charm and enjoy the many modern touches. The property is overgrown pastures and a few steeper slopes with medium growth trees. After the industrial period saw this region nearly deforested, the land was granted to settlers who cleared fields and planted grass. Our immediate vicinity was knows for it’s cattle (Bovina), mostly for diary, and sheep. The agriculture in Delaware County has been on a decline since the advent of rail shipping opened New York City markets to farms in less challenging geographies. Construction of the NYC fresh water system (DEP Watershed) may have contributed to this decline, but about 60-70 years ago the majority of pastures, especially less productive parcels were abandoned to the “weed trees”. These first succession trees grew quickly in the sunny meadows and covered the hills; trees such as Ash, Hawthorn, and Norway Spruce. Fences and barns were left to return to the earth. On our property the stone walls that boarder the fields are the most stark reminder of the intensive agriculture practiced here.

The sounds of nature and all of it's distinct calls including that of eagles, is truly an experience. And we cannot forget our other friendly neighbors, the wild turkeys and deer! The average height clearance is 6'2" so if you are tall this may not be for you. (I'm 5'9" and its comfortable for me) -If you are a bigger person this may feel too tight for you especially in the bathroom area -The bed is a full size some couples may feel that this is to small for them. -A hot shower will last about 15 minutes once it is heated up. -In the summertime there is bugs some may get into the camper. We do treat the area with safe bug spray but it may not fully prevent them. -There are two other tiny houses and a main house on the property. They are far apart but the main house is close. We have a privacy fence that fully blocks the house. So you are still very private but you are not fully secluded. -In case of fire There is a fire blanket, fire extinguisher, and a smoke/carbon monoxide detector inside the camper. The bedroom door is only to be used as an emergency fire exit. (Door is locked from the outside but unlocked from the inside) There is also a water cannon outside for outdoor fires. Please be responsible with all fires! -If you want to cancel you must cancel within 24 hours of booking then I will issue a full refund. Two hours from NYC, close to skiing (hunter mountain/ Windham , Kaaterskill falls, Woodstock, Hudson, Saugerties. FAQ Is my rental secluded? Our property is 8 acres, exactly the same as seven football fields. From your private deck and the big window, you will not see any other houses as far as eyes can see. We added fence panels to make it even more private. We have attached a satellite picture of the property to give you a better idea. As required by zoning law, there is a larger cabin on the property. But it is far enough and visually isolated enough that you won't feel it's presence (at least from the feedback we got from other guests.) We are located in a rural hamlet and a mile down the road there is a tiny town with two cafes , two bars and two restaurants. But your place is one New York block distance away from the street towards tree filled uninhabited area, adding to the sense of seclusion. I have never been in a tiny house, what can I expect? The "tiny house nation" style tiny houses are around 144 to 250 sqft, ours is 144 sqft. So,we are on the "smaller" side. Our guests have commented that its actually does not feel cramped. You will have heating, AC, hot shower, flushing toilet, kitchenette for basic cooking, small fridge, queen bed etc. You also have a private deck and a private outdoor fireplace to make S'mores and to grill. Are pets allowed? We just require that they should never be left alone and peace pick up after them. Our cleaning company charges a pet fee. If you forgot to pay it or decided to bring a pet last minute, please leave the amount as a tip to the cleaners. That way the cleaners get to keep the money and then they won't report the pet to the cleaning company. This also saves us the hassle of going back and forth with the cleaning company, reviewing the camera footage and ultimately paying it out of our own pockets. Also, please keep in mind that the house is really small at 144 sqft which may be too cramped for some large dogs. I work from home, how is the WiFi? We have had multiple guests who worked from home during the pandemic. Our provider is spectrum (the monopoly in the area). Luckily, outages are very rare and get fixed promptly (you may have to restart the router). Speed is always good for multiple simultaneous video calls and movie streaming. Do you provide firewood? Not yet! You do not need firewood to heat the house. If you want to use the outdoor fireplace, look for 'Campwood' signs and buy from our neighbors.(Also @ Walmart, Stewart gas stations etc.) What about Towels-Soap-Linens-Hot water? Is there heating/cooling? Can we cook? Yes! Yes! Yes! and Yes!. Think of all the amenities a hotel provides plus a tiny kitchen. Hot plate, refrigerator, electric kettle, drip coffee, plates, cutlery - we have all that we could cram into the tiny space. Our guests use the outdoor fireplace for BBQ and smores! Can I check in early? or Check out late? No and Yes. Due to the super strict covid19 cleaning process, we can no longer offer early check in. However, we can offer late checkout up to an hour. Please inform us in advance so that the cleaning crew can adjust accordingly.

Perfect for a weekend escape from the city. The cabin was spacious and spotless, and the restroom was well-maintained. No service, water, or electricity, but firewood was ready for us, and the nights under the stars were amazing. The host was friendly and easy to communicate with, and check-in/check-out were very flexible and smooth. It felt a little pricey for a basic setup, but we still really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking to disconnect and recharge in nature.

My partner and I were able to spend a really lovely weekend at the Twin Oaks cabin on Peter's campgrounds. We spent most of our time riding around on motorcycle and got in after dark on both nights. The view of the stars just overhead of the cabin was gorgeous. It felt gratifying to build the fire in the woodstove each night, which heat up the little cabin in no time. We got to see more of the thoughtful details in the cabin and even in the outhouse and outdoor shower as we were packing up on our last morning there. We'll be back in the area this time next year and would love to make it a new tradition to come back to theTwin Oaks cabin! Thank you for offering this space!

This getaway is perfect for those who are not convinced about camping in a tent just yet but are willing to test the waters in an actual cabin with windows, shades and a door! Nature is calling you but you'd rather sleep with the comfort of solid surroundings and air conditioning or heating. We get it! THIS is for you! So book your stay today....you will not regret it! When the temperatures drop, usually in November, we must turn off the water hose in order to preserve the hose and keep it from freezing. We provide water in 5 Gallon jugs for cleaning dishes and for personal hygiene. Please note, sometimes it gets so cold that the water freezes! During those times, we suggest bringing in water that you will use on a daily basis. You must bring in your own drinking water! We will provide you with a supply of paper plates, cups and plastic utensils! Water is typically turned back on in April. Winter camping adventure awaits! Staying at The Wasburn Cabin in winter months has proven to be an absolutely magical experience for hundreds of our guests. However, it does require a little extra planning and an understanding of winter in the Hudson Valley. Between November and April, the weather can have its extremes and does not allow for running water as the pipes will freeze and crack. Unfortunately, even leaving bottled water often just ends up being blocks of ice and not useable for our guests. We simply ask guests to bring in water during their stay to ensure a safe useable water source. We also ask guests to bring proper clothes. The insulated cabin does reach comfortable temperatures, however, extreme cold snaps can make it necessary to bundle up and cuddle with your main squeeze. If you are open to a little adventure and a little planning, come and enjoy our little oasis! If you are looking for high end amenities with hot showers and instant heat on demand, this is probably not for you and we suggest trying our outdoor experiences in warmer months. While we are located in a neighborhood, cell phone service can be spotty. We personally have not had any issues. We hope that once you arrive at the cabin, you’ll settle in and realize that disconnecting will help you reconnect to yourself! We offer limited wifi. The fall, cool crisp days and changing leaves are just a few short weeks away. NOW is the time to book your experience with us. Enjoy rustic camping on our 115 acres of upstate NY forest. We are just a short drive to Cooperstown, the Baseball Hall of Fame and the summer baseball camps as well as the other museums that it has to offer. Howe Caverns in Cobleskill is also about 30 minutes away as well. The property consists of a mixture of upland hardwoods (mainly Oak, Maple and Cherry) with scattered stands of Red Pine, White Spruce, Hemlock and two open fields/pastures. There are also the occasional conifers scattered about just to keep things interesting. The majority of the property is gently sloping from the South up towards the North. The is also a nice ridge on the NE corner of the property to aid in topographic diversity. One of the fields is a seven acre hay field and the other is a five acre food plot planted in clover, chicory and other grasses. This field has also been recently planted with Apples, Pear, American Plum, Red Osier Dogwood, Persimmon, Red Mulberry, Chinese Chestnut, and Hazelnuts. These are all young at this time but will start to provide diversity and wildlife interest in the coming years. Wildlife abounds here at the homestead. Whitetail Deer and Eastern Wild Turkey are very common to see. We also have a variety of small animals as well such as Red and Grey Squirrels, Raccoons, Porcupine, Opossum, Fisher etc. For the birders, we have Barred and Great Horned Owls and Red Tailed Hawks. It is also not uncommon to see Bald Eagles soaring over the fields looking for their next meal. All of the property is easily accessible via our extensive trail system. There is also another 187 acres that borders our land that also has trails that would allow hiking. We have detailed maps so that getting lost would be the least of your worries. Not suitable for parties or loud groups. For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty. It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka. Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinarily beautiful spots on earth that make you feel like you are in another world. It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below. The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls. Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and keep noise down after 10pm to enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside At the entrance to the campsites there is a barn community room with a charging station, cold water sink, fridge, coffee maker, cookware, and a port-a-potty. There are 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water. This is a leave no trace site. Take all your trash with you when you leave. Bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty! Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log. The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms stands with fresh produce and organic meat close by. Within a 5 miles radius is a general store, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, Rooted Movement, the Sap Bush Country Store and Café, and Mustang Valley (a wild mustang sanctuary). This land was once all pasture for grazing animals. We moved to Delaware County in November 2018 to start our family and pursue dreams of working on the land. The initial idea was to find a place we could live, garden, and raise a few animals while hosting guests and sharing the land with visitors. When we found this place on Williams Road, we loved the mix of rural and proximity to a thriving country town. We now have two kids and enjoy living in Delhi so much we hardly leave the town limits! There are wonderful restaurants, a great year-round farmers market, grocery stores, and many other services and amenities you can find listed towards the end of this guide. Our Catskill Mountain home is situated on a historic early 19th century farm site. Parts of the house might be more than 190 years old! With several additions and upgrades we think the house has lots of charm and enjoy the many modern touches. The property is overgrown pastures and a few steeper slopes with medium growth trees. After the industrial period saw this region nearly deforested, the land was granted to settlers who cleared fields and planted grass. Our immediate vicinity was knows for it’s cattle (Bovina), mostly for diary, and sheep. The agriculture in Delaware County has been on a decline since the advent of rail shipping opened New York City markets to farms in less challenging geographies. Construction of the NYC fresh water system (DEP Watershed) may have contributed to this decline, but about 60-70 years ago the majority of pastures, especially less productive parcels were abandoned to the “weed trees”. These first succession trees grew quickly in the sunny meadows and covered the hills; trees such as Ash, Hawthorn, and Norway Spruce. Fences and barns were left to return to the earth. On our property the stone walls that boarder the fields are the most stark reminder of the intensive agriculture practiced here.
